FFScoutcast Episode 271 – Traffic

Battling through traffic, illness and technical glitches, the Scoutcast crew emerge triumphant to discuss the key issues affecting Fantasy Football managers in Gameweek 9 and beyond.

After being stuck in motorway congestion a cold-ridden Az dropped by to join David, Andy and I just in time to answer the community’s questions about why none of us own assets from Arsenal. This is particularly head-scratching given the Gunners have scored more goals than any other side over the last four Gameweeks.

We also shake our heads in disbelief at why so many Fantasy managers are ignoring Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling, who is proving to be well worth his premium price tag this term.

Liverpool’s injury list and patchy form of some of their top players ahead of a fine run of games also come under scrutiny.

Elsewhere, David invents ‘the courteous brag’ as he details how he was the only member of the crew not to be entranced by Tottenham’s misfiring striker Harry Kane in Gameweek 8.

Gameweek 9 differentials and clean sheet prospects also get an airing and we finish off with Andy putting the rest of our transfer plans to shame with a typically audacious set of moves.

Yeah but it's Huddersfield. Would be different if it was a massive game for Liverpool. I don't see why they would risk him possibly falling on it and damaging it further.

I'll repeat here what I said below:

"Never mind the thumb - he can play with it. The question for me is this: if he's due a rest anyways isn't this the perfect time to do it?"

Dont think you need thumb to play football same way you dont need nose and players use mask. Actually not even thinking of using thumb will be good to avoid fouls and handballs

      1. Deulofail
        • 8 Years

Time to remove the numbered badges next to our names, I think. It was doomed from it's inception, since it was a way to appease the elitists who had to no reason to act elitist. Now they can get away with it, and the numbers are encouragement for them 😆

People shouldn't rely on these badges to judge the quality of a post. That sends a poor message imo.

*incoming messages to say my posts lack quality, and that that's reason enough to send me hate*

        1. Deulofail
          • 8 Years

I also think it's incredibly poor poor that RCA has got away with this one. It reminds me that the mods give those numbered badges too much respect as well. The grav shouldn't tell you whether or not a post should be deleted or a user, banned.

              "got away" with what?

Why should my post be deleted or why would I be banned for It?

Grow a thicker skin. If you are going to monopolize the boards with long posts every single day that a lot of people don't agree with (that much is obvious from the upvotes) then you have to expect some criticism.

Deal with the criticism in a mature fashion rather than whining to a mod would be my advice.

I'm also available for FPL advice if you like.

                • 8 Years
                5 years, 6 months ago

It wasn't constructive criticism, and it wasn't related to an FPL topic I've been discussing. You were talking about your preference of FFS users, and using that in an attempt to belittle me. It's actually against at least 2 codes of conduct - that's why it should have been deleted. Why on Earth should it be okay to start telling people how much you dislike them? Why did you think it was interesting or appropriate? Presumably, you're a grown man! I wasn't calling for you to be banned. I said it reminded me that certain people get more protection than others, basically.

I can't believe your defeinding your shitty whinge at a fellow user as "criticism". You must know that was out of order. I come on here for positive interactions if I can get them with people, not for that crap. And I'd be saying the same thing if I saw it happening to other people.

Mane, Zaha and Fraser are injury concerns. What do you think?

I'm in a very similar position with Salah instead of Mane. Wait on press conferences first.
I have a feeling Fraser will be fine and probably Salah as well.
If Zaha is out I'm looking at Arnie and Mitrovic as well so those are the moves I'd be looking at... don't think you need a wildcard unless all 3 are confirmed injured before the weekend!

I don't think there is a sectarian bone in O'Neill's body tbf.

I suspect his motivation is to send out a message to Lafferty and the rest of the squad to report for duty in future.

Lafferty is a very important player for NI and his scoring record has been amazing with them and his absents would have been a big miss to toe team.

I have never heard O'Neill of ever been accused of anything like that before and i am sure a man of his stature only has integrity only has the best interests of the team at heart.

"will be monitored". Today was the surgery. 1-2 days prep before kick off on Saturday. 1-2 days, can he train in that period immediately after having a surgery?! Itchy fingers now. Might pull the trigger soon.

Non-owner. Never mind the thumb - he can play with it. The question for me is this: if he's due a rest anyways isn't this the perfect time to do it?

Perhaps. Can see him and salah share duties over red star and Huddersfield. Perhaps both back and Firmino rest v Cardiff. Then all three v arsenal

You've got a valid point as well + Sturridge and Shaqiri's thumbs are not broken.

Exactly. Absolutely no need to risk further injury to Mane's hand when you've got Shaqiri and Sturridge waiting in the wings.

Yes, sort of. For this to happen Klopp might have to force Mane to sit. Mane will insist on playing. I'm not sure how this works out in the end.

Valid point Jtreble. Klopp's presser is going to be very interesting. I hope he comes out clear on his decision.

Looks like Salah atm but there's really no point speculating. Wait for Klopp's press conference.

    Pat - Button
    Alonso - Robbo - Mendy - Jonny - Bednarek
    Haz - Sterling - Mane - Rich - Puncheon
    Wilson - Laca - Mitro

Just messing around with my WC. How does this look? No Aguero but allows other premiums.

I would get Doherty over Otto. Then jiminez for Wilson. Perhaps you can also then get a second playing keeper

Guys, any thoughts on this low TV wildcard my brother has put together? Any suggestions welcome. It's 99.8m I believe. Big Shaq is a bit of a punt for two weeks then reassess; Sterling could become KDB to free some funds up too eventually.

    Ryan

    TAA Gomez Yedlin

    Sterling Hazard Richarlison Shaqiri

    Aguero Arnie Mitrovic

    Subs: Fab Doherty Duffy Hughes

Fixtures not as good as Liverpool. And Mendy more attacking and better fixture this week. Actually maybe not more stacking bit

Yeah, I suppose. Three away games in the next four and Manchester City, Chelsea & Arsenal at home next doesn't make good reading.
