Scoutcast Episode 275 – Thirties

With scores all in the thirties, Gameweek 13 was one to forget for the Scoutcast crew.

After forcing themselves to relive this dire set of points, Az, David, Luke and Joe dust themselves off and look ahead to better times.

Manchester City’s wealth of midfield options come under particular scrutiny during the community questions segment. A total of 44 points from David Silva, Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling against West Ham last weekend makes this is a group of players that demand attention.

Tottenham’s emerging assets in the centre of the park have also caught the community’s collective eye.

Son Heung-min, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen all impressed in the north London side’s victory over Chelsea at the weekend. However, the Scoutcast crew are more interested in their premium-priced teammate Harry Kane to help them take advantage of Spurs’ kind set of festive fixtures.

Elsewhere, David reveals some notable team frailties and the players who are set to exploit them over December. Gylfi Sigurdsson is looking such a strong option in this regard that Joe wishes there could be two of the Everton set-piece specialist to draft into his squad.

Differentials, clean sheets, captaincy and transfer plans are also discussed. With the festive fixture list stepping up a gear, this covers both Gameweeks 14 and 15 as both take place during a frantic six-day block of Premier League matches starting this Friday.

      What a top post 🙂

The only news you can rely on at this stage is he won’t play tomorrow and may be fit enough for FUL match.

      Rest is just chat

            He has been training today.

Sarri says he should be ok for weekend if you look at scout tweets.

            That suggest he starts

Currently highest I’ve been on FPL this season at 540. Thinking slightly out of the box.
    Rich + Fraser > Pritchard + Sane
    Or
    Rich + Wilson > Silva + Giroud

Or do what most others are doing Haz > Sterling...

    1. waldo666

Don't reckon you need to be trying anything out of the box at this stage with that rank.

Sterling on 99.2 % on fpl so price likely to rise. Will be priced out of Hazard to Sterling if he does. Is it worth doing transfer tonight?

Atm i have sterling, been toggling between him and azza every day.

If Hazard falls by one, and sterling who I own , rises by one, I get a profit of .1 . And then I'll get Hazard paying .2/3 less than the start of the week.

is salah worth 3m more than mane?
is sterling worth 2m more than sane?

I am thinking going mane, sane, aguero & hazard as my big hitters. If i remove hazard, i cant have any other manC mid (have 3 city players), salah is too expensive & not convinced by spurs mid (too much rotation as evidence today).

It sounds like you've made your mind up.

      henny
      alonso - robbo - pereira
      sterling - sane - mane - fraser - brooks
      kane - arnie

      hamer - jiminez - doherty - awb

So you’re basically getting Aguero in for a hit just for one week. He would have to score a goal just to break even, even if your other player blanks. So even a hat trick would be worth no more than a brace and that’s assuming your player that you sell/bench doesn’t get returns.

I’d say it’s not worth it IMO.

Wadnt he benched last year in this fixture. Then came on a scored a brace. The way Burnley are this season evem if he is benched he might score a hattrick when he does come on.

    How do these transfers look?

    Gw14 - Martial > Sane
    Gw15 - Fraser > Brooks
    Gw16 - Aguero > Kane

Fraser transfer is to fund Kane as annoyingly .2itb short without. Could try and free up funds elsewhere.

        Good advice again Smurf.

I could be tempted by the Martial > Sané move if there's any hint they Martial misses out (due to needing rest/poor performance etc.)

If your bench option can account decently for a surprise benching, just save.

Good question as I have the same combo. My understanding is that Steele has been on the bench whilst Button was injured. Button has been clear for a week or two but Steele was still on the bench for the last game.

Unfortunately if Ryan doesn't get up it looks to me as though Steele would likely take his place. I don't say that with any great deal of confidence though, any Brighton supporters may be able to shed some more light?

Given Jesus' fitness struggles my reckoning is that Aguero plays Saturday and is benched midweek to be fresh for Chelsea.

Would likely mean one of Sterling/Sane misses out on Sat - don't think Pep will want to rotate two of his main 3 midweek...

More I think about it the more I feel saving is a good option this week....

    1. FPL Blow-In
      • 11 Years
      5 years, 4 months ago

Sterling has played every game v the top 6 teams so far. I’d say he is most likely to be benched midweek. All speculation though. Sterling can play as a #9 toowith Aguero rested and playing both Sané and Mahrez wide.

      1. Goonsquad245
        • 8 Years
        5 years, 4 months ago

Sure - certainly think SAS plays v Chelsea. My thinking is more that it makes more sense for Jesus to start midweek, so that's when Aguero is more likely to get his rest IMO....

Makes Aguero a reasonably safe bet for Saturday though!

has those Sarri comments pushed anyone else to transfer out Haz? Seems like any niggling injury and Sarri will bench Haz, and Haz gets these niggling injuries frequently

It's a nightmarish decision to have to make, messing with my mind. City mids - risk of it backfiring due to rotation this gw. Haz - sarri won't give a straight answer. Salah - not firing as his price suggests he should be. If hazard was confirmed fit, I'd probably take the plunge and lose Salah to get a couple of city mids but he isn't and it's irritating.

I sold Mane for him and held Salah. Risky.

I had no one else I could sell for him. Not enough money to ditch Hazard but it does give me spare funds to do Kun -> Kane

    1) Mane -> Sterling
    2) Mane -> Sterling (Allows Gray -> Anderson next week)

Have Laca but no good options
