Christmas fixture congestion dominates the final Scoutcast of 2018 as the crew look ahead to four sets of matches over two tightly packed weeks of Premier League action.

Joe, David and Az are joined by Andy to look in detail at how best to navigate inevitable rotation over Gameweeks 18 to 21 and offer their top tips for yuletide Fantasy Football survival.

Community questions the crew tackle include whether Manchester United assets can be trusted for their kind upcoming set of games following the sacking of Jose Mourinho this week.

Danny Ings’ brace against Arsenal last time out is another issue considered, especially as his form adds further weight to the case for going light up top and investing funds in midfield.

Elsewhere, Eden Hazard’s goal, assist and maximum bonus returns against Brighton in Gameweek 17 kickstart a chat on the best premium options for the end of December and early January.

As well as looking back on Gameweek 17’s events, including the community’s roughest and smoothest tales, the crew also look in detail at the next four Gameweeks. This includes their views on the best differentials and teams with the greatest chance of clean sheets over the period.

The crew  find time to reveal their Christmas transfer and captaincy plans. For Az, Joe and David this includes hoping their key striker Harry Kane recovers from a bout of man-flu to take to the field in Gameweek 18.

Unfortunate bottom post earlier - repost

With Son playing yesterday for 70ish minutes. I guess it will Lamela starting again.

Son out for who ? I dont want another 1 pointer from him.

    Has Sterling,Salah,Hazard, Murphy.
    0.1 away from Sane.

    a) - 8 to get Son,Murphy out for Sane and 4.7m non playing
    b) -4 for Anderson/Snodgrass
    c) Richarlision again ?
    d) Any gems to recommend... dont mind differential

      Can't play a weak team v Spurs.

Dunno, we all thought Auba would get a rest at some point in the last 3 prem games, but he didn't.

Think there's a good chance he plays at least a cameo role.

Although maybe Ozil is being saved for a reversion to the 4231 which could conceivably give Auba a rest.

      No idea.

Auba doesn't expend oceans of energy, plenty of time between starts and after 2 straight defeats expect Emery to start A team, get a lead, then sub out the likes of Auba.

I think people are going over the top with the fear of resting.

Any one of your players could be rested at any time.

The most important players to their teams will likely get a rest at some point (probably a higher chance if they rely on speed/running for their game).

This doesn't mean you shouldn't own them (anyone happy with Sterling's and Sané's returns when they do play?) but just be prepared for it with a bench.

    1. Pierce34
      • 10 Years
      7 years, 3 months ago

I totally agree, although in my personal situation, I consider Son a heavy rotation doubt this weekend and Sané nailed, so a transfer is tempting - especially since I'll have to lose Son soon anyway.

      1. Eze Really?
        • 11 Years

I have Son and Sterling and Sane too. in hindsight I should have avoided all 3.

        1. Pierce34
          • 10 Years
          7 years, 3 months ago

Really? Sterling and Sane have been among the most consistent performers in the entire game.

          1. Eze Really?
            • 11 Years
            7 years, 3 months ago

Not points potential but the risk of all 3 not playing the same GW

            1. Pierce34
              • 10 Years
              7 years, 3 months ago

I would say that's very unlikely - Sane has started all league matches since Mendy's injury and I see no reason for that to change, especially with the recent rest patterns. Sterling a bit less nailed right now but you'd also expect him to start most matches.

              1. Eze Really?
                • 11 Years
                7 years, 3 months ago

Sterling Son is more a worry sure but Mahrez is versatile and can interrupt both of them. KDB can change the shape of Citeh too.

    2. Eze Really?
      • 11 Years
      7 years, 3 months ago

      Could not agree more.
For me the key is your bench (backs in particular) should not be rotation plans.
For example WanB and Doherty do not rotate nicely and one of them, being more likely to play from the bench, can get you nothing when big hitters are rotated.
      It is either;
A Bite the bullet and have no bench.
B Prepare for bench scorers not playing after weakening your side for rotation eventuality.

I would probably play Fraser over Rich. But not an easy call.
I got rid of Laporte this week but yes it can wait another week for sure. I benched him the last 2 weeks. No point having him. All for a strong bench but when I am benching a 6 mil defender and I think like you I had him 3nd on the bench both weeks.

They'll have an extra day of rest so it's not that improbable for Son to start - especially since he had his rest last weekend. That said, I'm also prepared for the possibility that the attacking players are Kane, Lamela and Lucas Moura again.

Doherty but he will probably get some minutes from bench

I have an alternative of doing Son to Sane for free instead of Laca to Sane for -4pts but not sure about that.

Boils down to best point differential. Only Billings has no upside potential while Fraser/Rich/Anderson do.

After an early hit I could be in trouble here correct?
Never addressed Kola, and I think Alli, Trippier and Auba all have a good chance of reduced minutes

    Ederson

    Alonso Luiz Robertson Trippier

Sterling (C) Sane (VC) Alli Snodgrass

    Auba Wilson

    Hamer Jimenez Stephens Kola

I actually do hold the second one til about 30 or 31, it's the first one I can't stop using by about GW3
I need an option to block out my WC til a certain date / GW to save me from myself 🙂

Is the Auba 'mat get rested' a real thing or just a thing on here?(Lacca owner here!)

      Team looks fine imo

Maybe he wanted to put out the strongest team and give the cup a go.
But other than that based purely on minutes we have to guess Laca more likely to start. I don't know.
Either way starting Auba in this one surely makes him more likely to get a rest if not this weekend then sometime over the next few GWs - thus helping Laca I suppose.

A bit out of the loop so looking for ideas on this lot?

    Pat Fab
    Alonso Kola* Doherty AWB Schindler
    Sterling Sane Richo Anderson Hoj
    Kane Auba Jimmy

    2 FT, 0.1m in bank

    Cheers in advance

      Maybe Kola and Rich
      To Luiz and Snoddy
But if you want to roll one then maybe just Kola out for TAA if returning and you have the enough cash - not sure

Scratch TAA - orange flag and not enough cash anyway.

      Kane Auba overkill maybe.
      Can you afford Digne?

Think I like this best from the suggestions
Doherty is fine and a CS last week but CS for the first week in an age.
So is the double up an option when you want to play Pat. Fab could be set and forget.

any plans for getting Hazard for auba? I've auba and not quite sure if to keep him or get hazard. Auba looks dangerous every week while hazard scoring.

Prefer Kane over Firmino, Hazard over Son and Fraser over Martial. So 2nd option wins.

1m short of that. I want sterling this week to captain. I'd have done Salah to sterling and rolled the other ft to get Jimmy and hazard the week after but the bellerin injury means I have to play Murphy
