West Ham players are now on the Fantasy Premier League radar after their 3-1 win over Watford.

The Hammers have also have a favourable streak of fixtures coming up to further interest in their assets.

Norwich come to the London Stadium in Gameweek 4 having conceded eight goals in their first three matches of the season.

After that, West Ham travel to newly-promoted Aston Villa, who have just one clean sheet in 2019/20 thus far, which came against a goal-shy Everton side last Friday.

Manchester United and Crystal Palace are the next two sides to travel to East London (in Gameweeks 6 and 8 respectively), before Manuel Pellegrini’s men travel to Bournemouth and Everton.

However, Fantasy managers will still have to ensure they choose the right West Ham player to capitalise on the form and fixtures.

We have gone over the numbers from their first three matches of 2019/20 to work out who that might be.

As this article uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area, only those who have signed up for the new campaign can access it in full.

Lessons learned from Gameweek 3

I think I prefer Haller out of the West Ham options. He looks a threat. Anderson is a bit pricey for what he offers and Lanzini is mainly just an assist guy. Plus you can pretty much forget getting clean sheet points on the midfielders!

Lanzini got 6, 8, and 5 goals in the 3 seasons before his ACL injury - not prolific, exactly, but perfectly reasonable returns

Those numbers don't excite me. I imagine Haller will get a lot more potentially making him the best option. Plus I think there are other midfielders outside of West Ham who will score more in that price bracket. Mason Mount for example.

Would you WC for the following?

    Out:
    VVD
    Dunk
    Martial
    Trossard
    Dendonker
    Kane
    Adams

    In:
    TAA
    Mings
    KDB
    Mount
    Cantwell
    Haller
    Barnes

Or is this just sideways and I need to put my phone down?

I can see the appeal. I have similar issues I am mulling over. If Martial is unfit then it could look well.
Comes down to Kane + Martial v Haller + KDB

I'll ask you this: how likely is it you still won't want the players you'd be taking out in 3 or 4 weeks, and how likely is it you'll still want the players you'll be bringing in in 3 or 4 weeks? If the answer to both questions is "quite likely", I'd do it now

Yes, and I'm very cautious when it comes to wildcards. Not feeling Kane, Adams. Dunk and Trossard have some tougher fixtures. If you're not sure, you could always do 2 or 3 swaps taking a -4 max (depending on TF's).

For those of us with Martial, Kane, and a bit of money itb - anyone else tempted to go Martial + Kane > Maddison + Aguero for a -4?

It does feel knee-jerky, but the last time I brought in Aguero for a hit he got me 40 points (20*2) vs Huddersfield... Hmm

True - but I remember Maddison making his debut at Old Trafford last year and thought he looked great! Neither Man Utd or Spurs are good fixtures, but neither are looking at all impenetrable atm, so (at least in an attacking sense) I'm not sure they're particularly bad fixtures? Liverpool away in GW8 is gnarly for sure, but other than those 3, they've got a pretty good run for ages

Keep Martial. He's such good value even if he misses a game. Just put Greenwood first on your bench. Moura could have had a brace at the weekend and will probably play against a leaky Arsenal. Mount is injured. The shine has gone off Cellabos. Hold your transfer.

Lads solve this problem for me - I want to shift Perez and King but not take -4 so only going to be one this GW4 and then the next guy for GW5. Who would be better to shift? I have 0.7 in the bank. Tempted on King = Barnes for long term, so could go Perez = Mount this GW and wait to get in Barnes later. (Also tempted on Anderson/Lanzini but then cant get Barnes because his price will rise by GW5)

Barnes if you care about tonight's price rise.

Otherwise Mount is a better asset.

      1. JohnCull1
        6 years, 10 months ago

Liklihood is he won't score against Liverpool though, and the price rise may not be as important as losing 4 points. Mount being potentially injured is annoying

Took a -4 last week and just trying to not take hits as much this season. If Mount wasn't flagged it's an easy decision. And Perez probably more likely than King to score at the weekend? Even though he's likely to go down to 6.3 in the next few days too

Not worried about Mount being potentially out? Think I'm leaning to exactly what you're doing but might leave Barnes to GW5 to save -4, I don't mind about price rise because I'll still be able to afford him

Benteke was an ‘interesting’ choice! Talk is through that one.

Feels like you’ve got 15 viable players so will give you huge benching headaches each week - id spend more on the first 11 and a bit weaker bench (and use the cash to get one more premium/ semi premium midfielder)

Literally a last minute panic at 11:29, regretted instantly.

        Thanks man

Looks like constant benching headaches with those mids and fwds

Is Otamendi actually nailed with Stones out? I wouldn't be surprised if Pep opted for Fernandinho or Walker at centre back with Laporte instead

Stones might be back this weekend

Walker can only play CB when they play 3 at the back, just monitor Stones injury as thats the only threat to Ota keeping his spot

I keep toying with the idea of Haller, but I'm not sure where to make changes if I brought him in. Thoughts?

    Ryan
    Digne, Kelly, Pieters
    Salah, Sterling, Cantwell, De Bruyne,
    Aguero, Pukki, Barnes

    Bench:
    Button, Rico, Chong, Dunk

The only obvious choice is downgrade Aguero to Haller and use cash to upgrade your very thin defence/ bench

Triple city attack is v interesting though (I actually really like your team)

You're fine for now, hope you have your WC for when the big defenses show up.

Targett injured for Villa. Replaced by Guilbert. Makes the new man a good option at 4.4 with their fixtures.

      Isn't Guilbert a left back?

D'oh, I mean right back not a left back.

Guilbert not starting today with Elmo playing was a good indication he would start this weekend

I can see the huge temptation but I think you hold off 1 more week and save the 4 points

Already have Sterling KDB Zinchenko, so Kane --> is not possible. But would you do Kane Zinchenko --> Aguero 4.5 for -4? Or is that triple City attack too much?

Think you are fine with the 3 you have and captain sterling.

Yes aguero could go big this week but don’t think it’s worth the -4

Do we think Moura will start vs Arsenal? He looked lively vs Newcastle and had a few chances, contemplating if i should save the FT or move him off for Mount?
