The UEFA Champions League and Europa League group stages get underway on the other side of the international break.

The first ties take place in between Gameweeks 5 and 6, with the final group matches scheduled for mid-December.

The seven Premier League sides involved in European competition will also enter the Carabao Cup at the third round stage and, if these clubs progress to the quarter-final of that competition, they will play twice a week, every week, from now until the turn of 2020 – with the exception of the international breaks.

Four of the “big six” sit in the top seven of our Season Ticker over the next six Gameweeks (we’ll be Frisking the Fixtures over the international break) and players from these teams may be dominating Fantasy managers’ thoughts when it comes to transfers and Wildcards.

With that in mind, we thought it was worth a look at the fixture schedule for Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Manchester United and Wolverhampton Wanderers over the next two months, given that all of these teams are still involved in European competition.

We have stopped at the end of October as the TV fixtures for November and beyond have yet to be announced, so there is a lot of rejigging to the Premier League calendar still to factor in.

We’ve had a fairly easy ride in the first month of 2019/20 but rotation may start to become more of an issue with all seven of the aforementioned sides competing on multiple fronts.

Jurgen Klopp said of his squad ahead of Gameweek 4:

We need them all, we need them all 100%. It is the very first part of the season, the first four Premier League games, and we had a busier schedule than other teams but still not that busy during the week.

That will all come afterwards, so no reason for resting players at the moment. It is about finding rhythm, finding the mood again, that we do the right things in the right moment. It is not the moment for a lot of changes.

After this international break, that will change completely. In the moment, the defensive set-up or whatever, as always, it is about who is in the best shape.

We have had a full week to train and when the boys won the last game and showed me then that they are still in their best possible shape, then we will only think about a couple of really small changes.

Pep Guardiola, when asked about Joao Cancelo (£5.4m), also said last week:

When we come back from the international break, we have Norwich, after three days, we have to travel to Ukraine, after three days we have a game here, then Carabao Cup. Start the real season in terms of a lot of games.

Joao, we’re delighted what we have seen but arrived late so was not in pre-season. Joao started to understand what to do. And now, maybe tomorrow, maybe after the international break, he start to play. He has to be ready.

Wolves, one of the most settled sides of 2018/19, have already been in midweek European action this season and some Fantasy managers have already suffered the consequences of Nuno Espirito Santo’s Europa League-influence rotation: Diogo Jota (£6.4m), Jonny (£5.5m), Leander Dendoncker (£4.5m) and Joao Moutinho (£5.5m) have all been benched once in the league already.

Below is a club-by-club itinerary for September and October, with the fixtures in italics Champions League/Europa League/Carabao Cup ties.

We will look at how the respective clubs’ managers approached team selection around the group stage last season in a follow-up article tomorrow.

Why would you do this to me I just got on top 🙁 reposting help me

I can’t cope with not having one of Pepe or KDB, I want both but is the effect on the rest of the team too bad? How do these options weigh up?

    A) Haller + Trossard + Martial
    B) Wood + Pepe + Cantwell/Ayew rotation

      KDB is very important.

Pepe hasn't yet shown he's worth his price so is a bit of a gamble

All of the nine million bracket players look really appealing. I'd even say it is worth downgrading Salah to fit 3 or 4 of them in.

I have B with Wesley over Wood.

A is certainly safer but I have a good feeling about Pepe, his stats are strong, fixtures are good. And I think Cantwell and Wesley can deliver as well.

I know Laporte went off on a stretcher which is never a good look. But the injury looked like a collision/impact - possible his injury might not be as bad as first thought?

Or am I hopeful thinking here.

With a defence of Laporte, AWB, Digne, Lundstram and Dunk, 0 in the bank and 1 ft what would you do?

    A) Laporte to VVD
    B) Laporte to Otamendi
    C) Laporte and AWB to VVD and Otamendi
    D) Laporte and AWB to Trent and 5.0 or less.

Am I right to say that my only concerns now are AWB, Martial and Ceballos so if I keep FT I may sort it out next week for -4 ?

    Ryan
    TAA/Digne/WB
    Salah/Sterling/KDB/Martial/Ceballos
    Pukki/Barnes

    Button/Lund/Rico/Green

Ceballos may not be an issue now that Arsenal have good fixtures. Think he will play the easier games to help dominate possession. Martial could be good to go as well. I would be tempted by AWB to Otamendi but you could easily save as well. Reckon Sheff United have more chance of a cleansheet than Utd this week so I would play Lundstram even if keeping AWB.

  7. Energetics

    Pope Heaton
    Robertson Coleman AWB Zinchenko Lundy
    Salah KDB Ceballos Cantwell Dedondocker
    Aguero Wilson Pukki

    0.1 ITB

What would you change? Robertson to TAA before it’s too late? Would love Digne but can’t afford.

    Hi lads,

    Adrian
    AWB, Digne, TAA, Lundstram
    Salah, Sterling, KDB, Mount
    Pukki, Haller

    Bench: Button / Kelly / Cantwell / Martinelli - 1.9 ITB

Would you do over the next few game weeks:

A: AWB to Pieters (or similar 4.5 with good fixtures) & Martinelli to Abraham and play 343
    B: AWB to Zinchenko
C: AWB to Pieters (or similar) and Pukki to Vardy

Both B &C leave me with money to upgrade one of lundstram or kelly but can't afford a city defender.

    1. MTPockets
      6 years, 10 months ago

Depends on your plans e.g. getting Abraham may make it harder to swap to a premium fwd
I'd go A but biased as don't like playing 4 or 5 defs

        1. MTPockets
          6 years, 10 months ago

Don't really like his fixtures, relatively - mun/TOT/NEW/liv - but no denying his recent form and the type of player who may just keep scoring

I hear you, his fixtures from GW9 - GW17 look very good though. Think I'll get rid of AWB either way and decide what to do then. go 343 with abraham or 442 with vardy. Just don't know if tammy can keep up the scoring. Goals coming from defensive mistakes rather than any brilliance.

            1. MTPockets
              6 years, 10 months ago

Should say I'm more fixtures-focused than most. Sometimes that works out, sometimes it fails epically

    1 FT, 0 ITB. A, B or C? Thanks!

    A) AWB > Matip/Maitland Niles
    B) Jota > Wood/King
    C) Wildcard time

    Pope - Button
    AWB - VVD - Digne - Zinchenko - Lundstram
    Sterling - KDB - Salah - Martial - Dendocker
    Pukki - Jota - Greenwood

Otamendi, better fixtures and Matip likely to be rotated.

RMT please. 1 FT, 0ITB. Suggested changes?

    Pope - Button
    AWB - VVD - Digne - Zinchenko - Lundstram
    Sterling - KDB - Salah - Martial - Dendocker
    Pukki - Jota - Greenwood

    Change Jota or AWB perhaps?

    Heaton
    VVD/TAA/Wan-Bissaka
    KDB/Salah/Lanzini/Mount
    Aguero/Pukki

Play Lundstram or Coleman for the 4th defender

Also waiting until after the Argentina games to do: Wan-Bissaka -> Otamendi

    Hi,

MY OR has tanked to 1m + following ok start. WC activated below.

    Pope/Button
    Digne/TAA/Lundstrum/Pieters/ 4.5
    Salah/KDB/D Silva/ Mount/ James/
    Greenwood/ Pukki/ Aguero

Big concern here is the fact i currently own Sterling removing is not the best but Aguero against Norwich and Watford seem silly to ignore.

Could go with the big 3 but makes my team very unbalanced. Play time of Silva i know is not at risk but my thoughts are if sterling scores hopefully it will be assisted by one or the other.

Alternatively, should i stick with Sterling and have aguero as another mid range striker? Haller/ Barnes for example? I'm also eyeing up wilson if affordable but Bournemouths form worries me.

Please rip apart i need to be talked out of this!

nice team apart from D.silva... it looks good on paper to have 3 city attack and balanced team but in reality you know that d.silva is huge rotation risk.

Silva's been rotated once against Spurs, which wasn't that surprising as he was in the corresponding fixture last season, and has more points than De Bruyne over the last two weeks. He won't see any action over the international break apart from Kompany's testimonial, so for Norwich, he's one of the better picks IMO.

To the poster, going without Sterling isn't something I'd be comfortable with, but you can't have em all, especially if you want Aguero.

Both good picks and can't see there being a huge gulf between them at the end of the season, points wise.

Depends on what you do with the spare mil though.

Also beware of the frustration of one blanking and the other picking up points on alternate game weeks (Mane owner here).

Gents anyone considering a bench boost this week? Fixtures looking tasty for most of my team. Even backing Pukki at home to City, Lundstram, Dendoncker etc

I always use my bench boost in a double gameweek..... doesn’t always pay off but more chance of success
