FPL Question Time – Consult our panel ahead of Gameweek 6

The Fantasy Premier League dynamic is set to change somewhat this week with the return of continental competitions.

The Champions League and Europa League group stages will be back on our screens over the next few days, and are likely to affect the top-flight’s best teams going into Gameweek 6.

That’s just one of many talking points to discuss this week though, so we’ve put together another panel of Fantasy managers to answer your questions…

Who’s on the panel this week?

Ted / Rotation’s Alter Ego – Moderator and the site’s recently appointed Assistant Community Manager. Ted finished 633rd in the world last season.

Holly Shand – Founder of Fantasy Football Community, two top 10k finishes in four seasons and regular FPL Show guest.

Who Got the Assist? – Tom and Nick run one of Twitter’s most active Fantasy accounts and run their very own blog, also producing an excellent regular podcast.

FPL Family – Lee and Sam run the popular Fantasy podcast and Twitter account. They were guests on the FPL Show last season.

    What is my priority?
Use the 1FT or take a hit?

    Pope (Button)
    TAA Robertson Digne Zinny (Lundstram)
    Salah Sterling Martial Mount (Dendoncker)
    Haller Pukki (Greenwood)

    1FT 0.2 ITB

Thinking just Martial to Cantwell...and Greenwood to Abraham next week to avoid a hit

Agreed, I think double Liverpool defence isn't as appealing as last season.

Interesting to note the cs drought really only applies to Liverpool and City (and with City only marginally at 2 from 5). Otherwise an almost exact equal number from his time last season.

City and Pool will surely come good (if with some regression) and the major turnaround is United seem to have swapped places with Chelsea in terms of defence.

All those 5 x premium defenders drafts feel know like a very distant memory.

Idk, the defenders were smashing it in PPG last season.

I dont think you'd of expected so many budget mids/forwards to do this well

I think have 2 premium defenders is still a good idea.

TAA definitely. I'd have one more from Everton, City or United.

    Pope
    TAA, Digne, Otamendi
    Dendoncker, Salah, Sterling, KDB, Mount
    Pukki, Haller

    Button, Greenwood, Mings, Kelly (-0.5ib)

Ive already transferred Adrian -> Pope. Should I take my first -4 point hit and transfer out Dendoncker for Cantwell?

Is it mad to go without salah or mane on wildcard if it gives a team like this?

    Pope/4.0
TAA lowton soyuncu / lundstram rico
    Sterling kdb son James/ guenduzi
    Auba Tammy pukki

    1. Trophé Mourinho

Seems like generally people have gone for a proactive wildcard as opposed to hitting the button when there are red flags etc.
Why have you used or not used it so far?

    1. Trophé Mourinho
      8 months, 13 days ago

Team has been plodding along ok so didn’t really need it until now. Son is too good to ignore tho, activated it to get son basically and fix my defence

I’ve used my wildcard after gameweek4 for the last 8 years... it’s the best way to get early price rises and in form players

      4 reasons why I did gw4:
      - get it out the way, I prefer the simplicity of 1 transfer a week, less intrusive on life!
      - pre season questions about team lineups/strengths sufficiently answered (eg who will play upfront/no10 for chelsea)
      - players going down for players going up in price l
      - move to 3atb

Player injuries also helped sweeten the justification
