After a largely disappointing round of action for the Fantasy Football Scout community, managers have plenty to discuss ahead of Gameweek 8.

With just one more weekend until another international break, we’ve put together another panel to help you solve your latest dilemmas…

Who’s on the panel this week?

Always Cheating – The USA’s number one FPL podcast duo comprising of Josh and Brandon.

DayvyFPL – Finished the 2018/19 season 22nd in the world and already up to 87k in the current campaign.

Joe – Our very own Scoutcast and video host, long-time servant of the site, keeper of the Goals Imminent table and seven top 10k FPL finishes.

Neale – Our very own deputy editor who was recently at the centre of ‘Hack-gate but is hoping to record a fourth career top 10k finish with his restored team.

languishing around the 3m mark, having a terrible season so far. thinking of the below for a -4

Pepe, Digne & Greenwood > Dendonker, Soyuncu & Auba

    Leaves me with:

    Adrian
    Lowton / Tomori / Lundstram
    Salah / Sterling / Son / Mount
    Abraham / Pukki / Auba

    Button / Dendonker / Soyuncu / Rico

What do you think? I know it means defense is super light and would be relying on cheap options to tick over but any thoughts appreciated

The pepe > Auba is an improvement but not sure the digne move is making things better. What about getting kdb in (assuming he will be fit and playing).

yeah i know what you mean, no premium in defence could be daft.

Can't get KDB in for Pepe with making 2 trasnfers (i have 2 FT's though). Not sure i want to lose sterling as feel like sticking with him will come good.

I prefer Salah. With so many mid priced forwards capable of scoring well we don't need these premiums at all. Just get 2/3 good mid priced options and fill the rest of the team. In seasons passed we've all experienced the torture of losing players like Salah and Sterling, with plans to rebuy, then something else comes up and we need hits or it gets delayed. I'd rather miss a few 6-9pt gwks (easily covered by others) from Aubameyang than a 40pt captaincy haul from the real fpl juggernauts. I see these forwards as good picks but not worth losing the real beasts for at all.

So many of us in this boat.

Fixtures and form of individual = Auba. I'm a little worried about Arsenal's creativity in general though and can't see them smashing anybody at the moment (Arsenal fan here).

Liverpool, however, are capable of smashing anyone on their day.

I'm tempted to switch as allows me to move to 343 (with Yarmo) - just deciding if it's worth the hit as ideally would captain Auba next game and Yarmo has a nice fixture too

How cheap would you go in defense if it allowed a strong front 7?

I'm contemplating a - 4 which would make my defence:

    Soyuncu / Tomori / Lowton / Lundstram / Rico

but allows a front 7 of:

    Son / Sterling / Salah / Mount
    Auba / Abraham / Pukki

    Pope
    TAA Robbo Digne Lundstram
    Salah Sterling KDB Mount Cantwell
    Haller

    Button Jota Greenwood Rico
    2ft 0itb. WC intact.

    A) Jota, Digne to Soyuncu, Pukki

Which Manchester City players are you looking to go with?

Sterling has been a pretty major feature in many teams since the start of the season, but more and more are moving away now in favour of investing in other premiums - such as Aguero.

City's appeal is also boosted by a few high scoring midfielders in KDB and (increasingly) Mahrez who have looked on excellent form recently, though the latter seemingly struggling with rotation.
Add in a few kindly priced options with Bernardo and David Silva and suddenly you have a plethora of attacking options.

Yet few have tripled on attack with some good looking defensive assets available, with Otamendi looking a nailed CB and the likes of Mendy perhaps catching some eyes as he returns to fitness, or the much safer Ederson. Others are not yet seeing the worth in tripling at all.

What's your reasoning behind your current City plan?

This makes it a wait and see question i guess. Personally happy with Sterling and KDB as it stands. 3/4 fixtures at home and will probably have one C and the other VC for those fixtures.

That's annoying, I suppose with the IB coming up we should hold KDB even if he does miss GW8. I wonder if his absence would make all other City attacking assets slightly less appealing?

I'm on Sterling, KDB, and Aguero currently. I think I was very unlucky with Aguero v Watford, he really should have scored more than one. I gone for all three as I desperately try to climb the ranks, even you are ahead of me RAE!

I definitely think it would. KDB is a major influence in that team, so I could see someone arguing that it could go further than just a little impact, but I'd like to see some stats supporting it.

5 big chances for Aguero. 100% should have hauled, actually had a shocker by his standards.

Those are some fighting words there lad 😉

Cant go wrong with any 2 of (KDB Kun Sterling) + Otamendi

After next international break city play 7 matches in 20 days between 19 october and 7th november (all competitions)

Just Chose 2 out of Kun Sterling and KDB and make sure you got a good bench to tackle inevitable fraudulence from Pep

Id avoid mahrez dilva bilva + any city defender other than Otamendi as they will be more prone to rotation

    2. Shatner's Bassoon

      Own Zinchenko, KDB + Sterling.

      B. Silva possible ban might make me sit up and take more notice of Mahrez for the midfield treble, but that'll require moving Zinchenko on - which wouldn't really be the worst thing. Fairly certain I'll move him next chance I get anyway, possibly to Otamendi - but if Mahrez does look more viable then I'll downgrade elsewhere & look at Mahrez for the 3rd City place.

I don't think it's particularly "predictable" whether Sterling or Aguero will haul in any given fixture so I'm dis-inclined to move Raheem to Kun via transfers for that reason. As has been said on Scoutcasts, this is a game you play against yourself - so I'm happy just to keep backing Sterling instead of Aguero - and I don't think I want to own both simultaneously purely for how much money that would be tied up in Pep's lottery.

Yeah looks like Zinchenko's time in teams is numbered now, struggling to find a reason for him to be included.

Definitely agree about keeping patience in premiums - both will return, not currently clear that one is significantly better than the other so no point throwing points around chasing shadows.

Impact of a KDB injury could be interesting, could it help Mahrez if BSilva was deployed in the midfield 3 more? Early doors obviously, just speculation.

Yeah, I'd say a significant injury to KDB makes me a little more wary about City in general. Would need to wait on another option (Mahrez/Bilva if not banned) but would certainly keep Sterling regardless. Zinch to go soon.

KDB a given, I still rate holding another attacker but take your pick. Sterling for me.

Ota is in that strange flux of big score, no score, a la Digne. Expect him to return at various points.

I think if we hear KDB misses the Wolves game, then Mahrez could be a huge differential at 3.5% ownership. But surely it wouldn't be wise to take KDB out just for one game till after the IB. Yes those planning on a WC could come up trumps with it as the guys on fire. Saying that, a hatty of assists in GW1 was followed by two 10-minute cameos. Pep saying he's improved his defensive duties is a pat on the back though

Yeah liking the look of Mahrez, but as Hurrikane points out, some tough fixture congestion on its way so I think I'll have to avoid.

Think that defensive aspect was something Pep has been looking for him to develop for a while, should be a pretty major key to getting him more time than what he's had in past seasons. Is it enough to warrant spending 8.5m and a City slot on him? Less sure.

I think he's currently in the same boat as both Silva's. Will get points when they play. KDB certainly feels the best option when he's in this form. I'm happy keeping Salah over Sterling whilst many are getting shut.

KDB, Sterling & Otamendi. No plans to change.
Did upgrade bench for the CL period on WC. With kelly back have 14 starters.
So this GW no KDB would mean Ash Barnes off the bench.

    Hi All,

Initially I wanted to bring Auba and KDB in as priority from this GW, however I am not really willing to drop Sterling and Kane now. Although Arsenal fixtures look great, they're still not all that convincing. Basically will Auba outscore Kane?

Team below, should I save the transfer? 0.4 ITB

    Lloris (Button)

Ota / TAA / Tomori / Lundstram (Montoya)

Sterling / Mane / Mount (Cantwell / Dendon)

    Kane / Tammy / Pukki

    TIA
