Our team-by-team guide to the new Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season continues with this preview of West Ham United.

The Hammers will find 2020/21 a tough act to follow as they flirted with a UEFA Champions League qualification spot before finishing on their highest top-flight points total in 35 years.

There were success stories across the park in FPL, too, with assists aplenty from defence and goals flowing further forward.

          Holding probably will be replaced by White so Veltman for me.

            Waiting on Shaw fitness nes, and waiting to see how everton look defensively, so I hesitate to add either at the moment. Also like the idea of having ESR as a 5th mid which allows me a stronger 3.5.2 than with a 4.5 mid. Also lets me play 4.4.2 with a 4.5 def in gw 2 and 3 for example when ESR has tough fixtures.

    Anyone who is going for Coady as a safe route into the Wolves defence is probably correct. However, he isn't 100% safe despite his reputation and Bruno Lage likely to take a few weeks to find the best 11. Mosquera has been the star of preseason so far according to the Wolves fans and Kilman has also been decent. When you consider Boly, Saiss (Saiss I consider the least threat minutes wise) and Hoever can play in the CB position, it might actually result in Coady playing in midfield again given Lage is a fan of 4-4-2 and that could allow Mosquera a spot in the 1st team. Likewise Coady could allow transition between 5-3-2 and 4-4-2. Moutinho seems to be on his last legs, Neves can be fantastic but should be playing further forward (if he stays) and our central midfield is looking in need of a fresh injection. Coady could end up rotated a few times and doesn't have much assist and goal threat. Ait Nouri in midfield is interesting but Podence is close to getting fit again, but Nouri is a fun punt but the issue could be when he is rotated he will likely get 1 pointers than staying on the bench if he is set to be a midfielder.

          Looks OK, punty enough, but very midfield-weighted. Not keen on Leno. Very rarely will Mane and Salah both haul in the same game. Sancho should do great but wouldn't get him before he does something. Mane, Sancho, ESR plus 4.5m out for likes of Grealish, 4.5m mid, 4th mid and third striker. Will get very few points for a 4.5m mid but even less for a 4.5m striker seeing little or no gametime.

      Had very similar but tore it up to get Son in.

      I like the 4th £5m defender option. Enables you to switch between 3-4-3 to 4-4-2 and 4-3-3 without using bench fodder.

      Working on the principle that your outfield players will each miss a couple of games a season through knocks and suspensions, technically that means you may need a sub 20 times a year. (Ignoring transfers). A decent sub could make a big difference

    I will be using WC in before GW7 and Salah will be (c) every week. This is selected based on fixtures and I think Fernandes will feed more to sancho who will get more last passes off.

      are you not tempted to start Toney every week? Could downgrade Saka to a 4.5 then use that cash elsewhere.

      Also Lamptey is injured. Not sure how long he’ll be out.

    Just picking this up again after a nice layoff. Who are the consensus 4.0 Def and 4.5 mids? Those are always my first picks… seriously.

      4.0 defenders are thin.
      Williams, but he takes a Man U spot.
      Manquillo seems to be in teams, not sure why.
      That’s about it.

      4.5 mids
      Bussouma, Gilmour - seemingly most nailed but low attacking threat.
      Brownhill - scoring goals in preseason
      Gibbs-White - getting a run out but Wolves are without many mids in preseason.

      Probably more. Off the top of my head.

          I do have the choice of Raphina over Buendia and double Leeds.
          essentially, Buendia/Raphinha & Harrison.

          Not much tbh. Prefer Raphinha and expect him to score more points over the course of the season but for 6m Harrison is a great pick in his own right. The difference between Shaw and Lamptey is bigger.

            Agree. If I had that 0.5 I would make the upgrade but I don't believe I can find it from anywhere.
