With just seven days to go until the 2021/22 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season kicks off, now seems like a good time to share my latest draft.
And it is very much a draft, and one which is evolving on a daily basis right now!
However, I don’t envisage too much changing between now and next week’s deadline, providing Harry Kane (£12.5m) and Romelu Lukaku don’t turn up at Manchester City and Chelsea that is.

Why DCL over Ings?
I expect Ings will do just fine given time but I don’t buy into the thinking that because he’s going to a “bigger more attacking” etc club that that means he will kick on immediately. The season is just a week away, grealish has moved on and new players like Bailey and buendia and Ings need to figure out with coaches how to operate within the team. Think it’s easier to switch from DCL to Ings if he hits the ground running. Also prefer toffees fixtures over the first 6 or 7 before looking at WC
Fair enough , is DCL ready for gwk1?
I understand the concerns about revamped attack, but Ings doesn't really need too many chances to score, and he gets the goals from difficult positions/shots.
Don't know if the sources is reliable enough, but seems DCL had a toe injury.

Chilwell's far more attacking though, and he's got a bench to cover occasional rotation.
Yeah I know that. Dias is just a safer pick and will probably match or better Chilwell for total points come the end of the season.
You are also risking off the bench cameos with Chilwell. Whereas you don't risk that with Dias

Might be a good option for first few weeks, but can see rotating with Walker when he back and match fit. Maybe I'm just being a bit boring!

What I heard about Brentford was they would try and play nice football in the Prem, which should lead to a lot of goals conceded.

DCL has had extended break and think only back to training last couple of days. I would rather drop down to Toney and upgrade one of your 2 4 m defenders to White/Ayling or even up to Coufal although holding .5 m in bank to offset early price rises might be useful. That bench you have just to risky particularly with COVID still lurking
Considering this. Also thinking of doing Digne -> Chambers and upgrading the 4.0s via that route.

I did a selection of (c) for the 1st 10 gwks and found I (c) him once(Son plays cry this gwk), Salah 6 times and Son 3 times, so found Salah and Son a better combo for (c) +2m helps the rest of the squad

It is a very good team , but your not worried about the Leeds fixtures?
Not really for the attacking players, would be worried if I had any Leeds defenders. They scored a few against the likes of L:pool and Utd last season. Conceded a few as well though.
More concerned about City fixtures for double City defence, but having Shaw to switch in I think helps.
Can't find 3 strikers I like so I think I'm settled on 3-5-2 (unless Lukaku comes in and is good value)
This is a really good team, I like it a lot. Just need to hope that Toney is as good a lot of people are hoping as not many easy swaps available.

I don't rate DCL and with no Siggy or Richarlison and probably Rodriguez I'm not sure where the supply is coming from at Everton.
Ings is class, but new team, plus his horrible injury record, I'm nervous of picking him.

I like the choice of going with two City defenders. They both should be regulars and keep clean sheets. I've got two of their players also.
Martinez should get a CS against Watford. I can't fit him in my team though.
I had Sanchez for ages, but looking at Martinez points last year has changed my mind. Should be worth 30 to 50 more points than a £4.5m GK for an extra £1m. Got to be worth it.
Yeah, Martinez is a beast of a goalkeeper. I had him in from the start last season and he did great. I'm finding it difficult leaving him out.

He might do, one time monitor really. That United team has been decimated in terms of the Euros/Copa. Most only coming back this week. Not convinced on United first 1 or 2.

Pretty underwhelmed by the team reveals so far, does that show that I don't know what I'm doing, there is loads of luck involved or that the start of the season is less than 10% and what follows is more important
Well many of the ‘experts’ claim they pick the players they think will score the most points. In reality they are all afraid of a bad start and spreading the risk on the most owned players.
I'm not expecting weird differentials just a really solid team. Things like picking two Leicester keepers just don't make sense as it blocks owning Barnes and Iheanacho.
Yeah is strange I guess. Not sure we need to be leaving space for three Leicester just yet. Get the point though.

Yeah, I might still. I just prefer all the good 5.5 defenders to the forwards though. There are so many good set-piece-taking wing-backs, and midfielders who play high up.

Thanks! I think ill make some tinkering and choose Antonio instead of Wilson. I think hes a good chance of starting and can start where he left off from last season, but i agree it is a bit of a risk with Sancho and Cavani possibly starting
Greenwood's pretty nailed for the first few weeks ; Sancho isn't at the club yet, Rashford is out, Cavani generally doesn't play more than a few games on the trot and has yet to return either.
This. Plus he has looked very lively preseason.
He will start at least the first 3 games. Rashford out, Cavani and Sancho won’t start v Leeds, Martial not quite ready yet, Greenwood likely to start as striker, Leeds have injuries at the back, Mason has been good in preseason. United have very good first 4 games.
