Deputy Editor Tom joined Scoutcast regular Joe earlier today to look at the best captaincy candidates for Fantasy Premier League (FPL) in Gameweek 12.

You can watch the video either embedded in this article below or on our YouTube channel.

A certain Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) once again looks like the leading armband option, as Liverpool host Arsenal on Saturday evening.

However, is there a case to be made for Tottenham Hotspur duo Son Heung-min (£10.3m) and Harry Kane (£12.2m), especially given the latter’s fine form for England during the international break?

In our video, we also discuss some of the less considered options, such as Cristiano Ronaldo (£12.4m) – who arguably has the most appealing fixture of the round, Michail Antonio (£8.2m), Phil Foden (£8.3m) and Joao Cancelo (£6.5m).

You can cast your vote on the widget of our home page, and be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel to get notified of future episodes.

Don’t forget to check back for our Captain Sensible article later in the week, which will delve into even more detail on the main runners and riders.

Has anyone played Fifa 22 on Xbox one?

Just wondering if its worth getting? 🙂

Fifa 21 was awful by far my least favourite Fifa and I've been playing it for the better part of 15ish years.

Just got it in PS4. Mostly for FUT at night to unwind. Gameplay is a bit better than ‘21 but not really much different.

I don't play FUT so a bit disappointed to hear that the game play is basically the same.

Haha. Anything after my wife goes to bed and the one year old is sleeping is relaxing. I could be giving myself a tattoo and feel at least like I have some peace.

22 on the next gen consoles is the biggest leap and improvement in a long long time, great game, slower, more sim like (as much as you'll get from FIFA) and amazing tech behind it

      Go for it!

Last gen versions, doesn't have the improvements they put into next gen hence everyone saying not much improvement

I bought it on PS4 and I wouldn’t recommend it, unless you’re buying it to play Career Mode/Pro Clubs and just chill out.

Ultimate Team is way too toxic.

    Which combination would you rather?

A: James, Jota, Mbeumo, Kane, Toney
B: Reguilón, Son, Mbeumo, Vardy, Toney
C: James, Son, Jota, Wilson, Toney (–4)
D: James, Son, Mbeumo, Vardy, King

    1. Ephurion
      • 9 Years
      4 years, 8 months ago

A: I'd rather pick this one

For D and B: If you're spending ¨~11 on a forward (Vardy) I'd rather just get Kane

C: My 2nd pick. Depending on how you use the cash from Son + Wilson vs Kane + Mbeumo (compared to A). As it stand -4 makes it less appealing

A, because it contains the soon-to-be record England goalscorer (and fish in barrel marksman extraordinaire) Sir Harold Kane, and not because it contains Brentford's answer to the Chuckle Brothers.

Really going nuts with the amount of Kane content on podcasts. 1 goal in 11 games against proper football teams. Fails the eye test, has not got the stats, nor the form, but the amount of air time is unreal. Plays for a team that is far inferior to the even the underachieving team they have been since finishing 3rd in a 2 horse race for the title in 2015-16. The recommendations to jump of fVardy whose form is way better and whose fixtures after Chelsea are more than decent, is completely unobjective. And whilst Leicester have been indifferent this year, they are more potent going forward. Spurs have managed only 9 goals in 11 games, compared the Leicester's 16.

Let everyone break their teams up accordingly !

    1. @persecuted_by_mods

I hear you, but it doesn't really break most teams. I can get Kane for -4 see below and some have 2 free transfers.

Vardy has good fixtures after Chelsea though and can come good so I'm not convinced and waiting 1 more week is probably the sensible move.

Still not convinced myself that Spurs will suddenly turn up this weekend. I have Ronaldo and that Watford fixture looks far greater for goals for Utd than Spurs at home to Leeds. I need to see some signs of some improvement from Spurs and Kane and only then I will move for him the following week .

Who is the best striker upto 6m?
It's part of a -4 of Vardy and Toney out for Kane and 1 of the following:

    a) Hwang
    b) Armstrong
    c) Pukki
    d) Save the transfer and review next week (rest of my team is good)

Is it a playing striker or a bench striker?
D is the answer, but if it wasn't I'd go for the one who is absolutely nailed, on penalties and playing under a new manager.

Impossible to know, heck there's every chance Spurs continue to look poor this week and all of us that have already moved for their assets look like fools. If your team is in good shape and you're happy to roll then go for it, you'll have a lot more information to go on

I'm in an almost identical position, except I have Sanchez/Mount instead of Ramsdale/Foden. Vardy isn't a priority sale for me but he's a good source of funds for other moves.

Vardy isn't a priority sale for me either. It's just I feel Kane/Son is going to be essential for spurs good fixture run and could potentially have more points. Plus a FOMO.

I'm leaning B as well, as I think Son + Wilson will overall get more points. Kane is a player I would captain over Son though, so it's tough.

Yeah I agree. As long as Son can stay within a few points of Kane he will prove better value. I only intend on keeping Wilson for the next four fixtures though.

The only issue with this strategy is it is going to take another two transfers to switch back to CR7 for gw16.

          1. BIG TONES
            • 11 Years
            4 years, 8 months ago

My gut is saying Wilson will score goals under Howe and Son as you said can stay somewhat close to Kane given past form. Kane has been in good touch lately, but all of these goals are against rubbish sides. Maybe it's just what needed to get into form though?

Yeah going to need 2FT for united assets. Might even go Bruno over Ronaldo though.

Yeah I'd fancy Wilson to get a few goals against those teams he has at home. It's a really close call between Kane and Son. But Son enables Wilson.

Prefer KDB + Havertz to Son + Foden for free

I see no reason to lose Edouard right before his good run starts, except if he gets dropped

Son has also managed to get 4 goals and 2 assists under Nuno, with 5 of those returns coming with Kane on the pitch. Kane has a goal and an assist

Son has indirect set pieces. Kane's only set piece is penalties, which seem rarer than usual this season

And I would not take Jota over the possibility of Livra to Tsimikas for free for GW13. It's just too smooth

Tsimikas has more routes to points (CS, assist, minor goal threat) than Jota (goal or nought), so far in their relatively short Liverpool careers

Would you sell Meslier this week for Ramsdale? I still think Arsenal will keep some clean sheets in the run coming up and Ramsdale is the best keeper below 5m.

Or should I hold on to Meslier for 4 more weeks and then sell for Fabianski/De Gea?

I wouldn't fuss too much about keepers. If you have a luxury transfer, maybe go to Guaita to save some money.

Yeah it’s usually a waste of a transfer, just Ramsdale is 4.7 atm and his price is going up this week, whilst Meslier will go down.

      Guaita until GW26, then Mendy

And yes, I'd lose Meslier, even for a hit

Their defensive numbers are improving at Leeds, but their confidence as a team is still shot to bits. I'd have run away since, but now you have a perfect entry point into the Sánchez (GWs 1 to 8) > McCarthy (GWs 9 to 12) > Guaita (GWs 13 to 25) > Mendy (GW26 to WC) train

Bergwijn goal and assist vs Norway, surely better option than Kane, if we are going with the IB form logic.

    Which move?

    A) Havertz to Son
    B) Vardy to Kane
