TBH, I know this is a fantasy site so you have every reason to ask and I no valid reason to write this.

      But still.

Who really cares about a sodding RMT this evening

Politely asking: Wtf are you doing here if you have zero interest in fantasy football. If you have nothing to say, it's better to be quiet. Feel free not to read or answer comments here if your contribution is below zero. Welcome back when you are able to act like normal people do.

I like it only issue is no Morocco D in case for another upset. Yes you have Bono but you might keep him on bench 2nd day.

Also Rabiot n Tchou? I prefer the likes of Mac Allister or Enzo.. or even De Paul to uograde one Luka. Just my 2 cents GL

No idea how you have so many players and still 4 transfers. After all 5 I only get 11 starters. Good for you!

I burned 2 by accident as didn't realise they expired straight after game, I was in progress of working them out. Annoying as I'd doing well with a rank under 300. Now will have to take 1 hit just to get first 11 out and loads if want a squad.

Thoughts on when to play power captain?

I’m assuming everyone will be on Messi C1 and Mbappe (C2) this week. So feeling doing it in the final when they potentially play each other is the better option.

Also hoping 3rd place match has most goals of remaining 4.

Hate to break it to you, but best time to play it was from R16 or before, cuz of the fixtures (not just the number of them).

Not very helpful, but if you still have power captain, may as well just play it now I guess.

Well I’m doing just fine with my strategy and haven’t felt like I missed out on anything. R16 best was Mbappe and R8 was Messi - not exactly hard to have gotten right.

Much of a muchness. You're right on 3rd place game, could be higher scoring than semis or final. But you have to pick the top scorer at the same time and 3rd place games will bring rotation. With Croatia v underperforming Argentina but quality Messi and miserly Morocco v France the semis don't look llike high scoring games. These games are so unpredictable that Hakimi could get a brace!

I guess just do them as needed

Get as many decent options for 1st game and transfer extra for hits if needed

I will be taking 1pt scorers and will hit for any negatives or maybe zeros (depending on the options and position). Defender seems like 0 is fine! Haha

      Me too. It’s a decent enough 11.

Might take a hit for a 0 pointer (or a negative) from the first game. But highly likely no hits.

Can Foden minutes be trusted as a regular starter when PL resumes ?

Apart from KDB I think pep roulette could be even be stronger as pep will look to keep his entire team fresh after world cup duties.

Players who play in the first match then after that match has finished you can make the decision of whether it's worth taking hits to fill the remaining 3 spots (probably 4 spots, Saiss injured). Juranovic, Molina, Perisic. Modric, Alvarez maybe.

Against other nations that have won the WC England are now 0 wins and 11 defeats in knockout fixtures at major tournaments on foreign soil (WC, European Champions/Euros), but 4 wins and 2 defeats both on penalties at home. England desperately need to bid for another WC soon.

Just playing options for the FPL re-opening. Which combo do you see better?

    Options

    (A) Cancelo, Martinez, Mitrovic
    (B) Dalot, Shaw, Darwin

Man Utd will have great fixtures of NFO / wol / BOU on the festive period. At the time writing, I think the festive might mean some rotation risks by nature for the full-back.

I initially like B attacking potential, but a bit doubt now.

Any point trying to salvage this? 5 FTs.

    Sosa

    Mbappe

Yes, that's it! Somehow it still seems interesting to me to figure out how best to play this scenario. Currently thinking, there's no point taking massive hits to end up with the same team as everyone else, so I have to push the differentials as much as possible. So no Messi. Think I might fill up on Croatia defence (Livakovic, Juranovic (C), Gvardiol, Lovren) to start, plus maybe Petkovic & hope that he can do a Weghorst on them late in the game? Then maybe punt on a couple Morocco mids plus Giroud & Mbappe? If Giroud is becoming template, then maybe En Nesyri instead? Any other ideas?

I'm in similar spot with too many non players and only the 5 frees.
Im thinking the same, it's not wise to load up on those popular players, so I'll be going all in on Morocco defenders (great defensive record so far, I already have Bono) and a splattering of Croatians.

Yeah that could work, not much to split Cro/Mor defence. Just having Mbappe is pushing me this way & I'm struggling to see many goals in Cro v Arg, whereas I could gamble on Morocco finally crumbling without Aguerd & Saiss

Six steps for England to win a Euros or WC and England got to step 5 and are now back to step 4

    1) Infrastructure (e.g., St George's Park)
    2) Coaching / Management / Administration (e.g., Southgate, coaching team, FA)
    3) Culture (e.g., diplomacy, inclusivity, team ethic)
    4) Squad / players
    5) Experience
    6) Win (with some luck)

Time for England to reset the squad and use the relatively easier qualifiers, irrelevant Nations League and Euro group stages (especially since they expanded the Euros) to build experience.

Would like to see something like the below and hope some other talent emerges to supplement or get in the first team:

    Ramsdale
    James Tomori Guehi Chilwell
    Bellingham Rice(c) Foden
    Sancho Rashford Saka

Others to be involved: Henderson (GK), TAA, Mitchell, White, Gomez, Gallagher, Mount, Maddison, Smith-Rowe, Bowen, Toney

Don't think it needs that much of an overhaul. Kane is only 29 - are you retiring him already? Sancho can f- off out of Foden's spot.

I think you need experience to win a WC. And I can see Pickford, Stones, Maguire, Walker, Shaw, Henderson and Kane all being on the decline by the next WC, which will require greater fitness because of warmer temperatures and travel between venues.

Add to that Pope, Trippier, Coady, Dierm Phillips, Ward-Prowse, Sterling, Grealish and Wilson and most of the existing squad will be over 30.

When are the new players going to get their experience. Qualifiers, Nations League and the easy Euros group stages (because up to 3 teams can qualify from a group now it is expanded to 48 teams) is the time and place to do it.

Technology, S&C, prehab etc has players playing deeper into the 30s and that trend will continue. 30 was close to the end if a career, depending on position 10 or 15 years ago. Now it's a sign of a valued experienced player with a good few years left.

Wtf has Southgate against Trippier... Late with Rashford on as well... talk about kicking someone who just got to his heights again and knocking him back down. Reset. That team could have and should have went all the way. too much structure, how about opening it up a bit next time.

Foden should be our Modric, Griezmann, Veratti. Player who plays in the centre and makes the team tick.

Those three players have seen us off in a WC SF, WC QF and Euros F. We have a player of that quality (Foden), but he is not being used in that way.

I know Foden wants to play as a 10, but I think Kane at 32-3 will be even more of a no 10 really, so I don't think it makes sense to play 4231 or push Foden so deep into the spot that Bellingham is now growing into

Johnny Giles, pundit here, ex Leeds and Ireland reckons Bellingham doesn't have the positional sense yet to be a top centre mid. Thinks he'll be a top attacking mid. He's very old school in his opinions but talks a lot if sense too. Foden is a good shout to be centre mid but you'd have to ask him!Could Madisson not do a job there? Rice probably best option there now surely?

He's so overhyped . I mean he's a good player but typical English hype of an half decent player. Happens so many times. From Joe Cole to Rashford and they never really hit the expectations. He also whines as much as Bruno
everytime someone taps him , which is quite some feat.

Giroud. Morocco won't make the same mistake England make with flair players in central midfield (see Modric, Veratti, Griezmann and going further back Pirlo) and give them time and space to play.

Where can I see on how much fantasy points did Kane get yesterday (don't have him)?

The rules of the WC fantasy game states:

«You will be able to roll over one unused free transfer per Matchday»

Can’t find anywhere in the rules that this does not apply for the knockout rounds. Does anyone know more about this?

Copied from rules.....During the group stage, one transfer can be carried over into the next group stage matchday however, due to the unlimited transfer limit between the last game of Matchday 3 and the start of the Round of 16 you will not be able to carry a transfer over at this stage.

Feel the rules are a bit unclear as the text you sent seems to apply more specifically to the round of 16..

It was ambiguous earlier but they've changed the wording now

Actually it says "During the group stage, one transfer can be carried over into the next group stage matchday"
