    Pick one:

    A) Maddison + João Pedro

    B) Mitoma + Jackson

Madders fully depends on whether or not Kane stays, if so then I like A.

If Kane goes, maybe more set pieces for Maddison.
      Chance at penalties too?

He'll be playing balls to Richarlison instead of Kane, think that's a big negative for Maddison

      Evening fam!

Thanks for all the chat and tips, feel set for GW1 🙂

Haven't been paying full attention on the cheapies....what's the consensus for £4m fodder picks?

      I'm on Areola and Beyer.

    Anyone else on a 4-4-2?

    Flekken
    Stones Chilwell Gabriel Estu
    Salah Rashford Saka Martinelli
    Haaland (C) Pedro

    Turner; Baldock, Mubama, Nakamba

Like the flexibility it could have in dropping Salah GW3, or downgrading Martinelli at some point to the 6.5 of choice

No I prefer the attackers plus with extra time rule I can see a lot teams conceding in injury time due to tiredness/ loss of structure from sub changes

Surely will be the case for a lot of teams, though City (with Stones as my lastly included defender) shouldn't be affected as much as others given their domination in possession.

Any changes would involve downgrading Martinelli as dropping Stones only get me to 6.0 for a 5th midfielder. Don't know if I fancy the idea of 2 mid-price mids. Difficult to get right I think but if you do, fair play

Don't think it would be much fun going without an Arsenal defender to start with

Between Flekken (fixtures + low xG shots conceeded) and Johnstone (improving defense and solid shotstopper) for me. A good and low-risk to spot to be different.

Gabriel more threat, though from Arsenal fans I've heard he's slightly less nailed than Saliba. Don't think there's much in it

Raya had to make 154 saves last season, is Brentfords defence really that good?

Last 2 spots so a bit of a punt which i don't mind:

    A) Stones and Diaby
    B) Gvardiol and Trossard
    C) Henry and Foden

Thanks and good luck in finalising your team.

I don't like C as Brentford defense looks a bit ropey, plus rotation worries - but does have big upside.

B just had Gvardiol as a question mark. I'd move to him but not sure about starting with him even though he's 'ready'. Trossard may get a goal even off bench so that's okay.

I like A is the least exciting but will be most flexible for you. Diaby looks decent - just a tricky GW1.

I was on A but just switched to C.

Henry is decent enough but best as a first sub and it would be him or Cash.

Agree on Brentford and Kane could come firing on Sunday.

I've just got this feeling about Trossard on Saturday and 2 goals but we're not picking a team for 1 week.

I will make my mind up overnight and avoid any Man City team sheet leaks tomorrow evening.

Whats the rest of the teammate, been so busy today 🙂

I am probably starting my draft again from Kane to Salah.

and then move to Kane GW3.

My Salah draft at the momemt.

      Johnstone/ Turner
      Estu Chilwell Gabriel 4.0 4.0
      Salah, Saka, Havertz Rashford Eze
      Haaland Pedro.

I see Arsenal scoring more against Forest but Wolves are poor too.

They will only play Rice/Partney and not both. Nketiah is the only danger

    Thoughts on this?

    Onana
    Stones Gabriel Estupiñán
    Rashford Saka Jota Mitoma Eze
    Haaland Pedro
    Turner // Watkins Chilwell Kabore

    In GW1:
    - Eze: SHU (A); Stones - BUR (H)
    - Watkins: NEW (A); Chilwell - LIV (H)

In GW2 - switch the bench out:
    - Watkins: EVE (H); Chilwell - WHU (A)
    - Eze: ARS (H); Stones - NEW (A)

Jota could be Martinelli. Too much money on bench or totally okay?

Yep, looks solid to roll a transfer for gw2 into 3.

His price actually dropped from last season despite doing pretty well in a Liverpool side which didn't do very well. He won't get near that 300 odd point season but pretty likely to be 250+ again.

He's started together with Welbeck, and most think that he'll play behind one of them. He's also capable of playing across the line so there's a bit more versatility. Still, quite a big minutes risk

I'm coming round to him. The way I see it he's no more a rotation risk than the likes of Mitoma and March. So many good options for Brighton in attack. The thing I don't like is his position because you either pair him with Haaland and then struggle to go anywhere after or you have to play with 3 strikers with all those lovely midfield options.

Good luck to all this season - my team is all sorted bar one punt on Enciso for Brighton who is not in my team due to uncertainty of starts - Undav was loaned out by Brighton which has surprised me but I feel was done to back Joao Pedro & possibly Enciso ?- any Brighton fans feel this is Enciso season & he will start regular due to his end of last season exploits ?

    Onana ( Turner )
Gabriel, Estupinan, Chilwell ( Baldock Beyer)
Rashford, BrunoF, Martinelli, Saka, Diogo Jota
    Haaland, Jackson (4.5 Surridge)

Thoughts on Jackson? Or should i just go template with Pedro? Anyone else?
Surridge has left the game since I've been on it, shall i just keep him to avoid potential price drops? Or any 4.5s worth a punt?

Thoughts? Pre-season form/high expected minutes draft (for fun).

    Johnstone
    Chilwell | Estupiñán | Gabriel
    Salah | Saka (v) | Bowen | Eze
    Watkins | Haaland (C) | Jackson

    1. That Was Easy!

Bowen is an interesting one, had my eye on him as an alternative to the 6.5s. Could definitely be a nice differential and I think that spot is relatively low risk to take a gamble on.

Otherwise solid draft, obviously outside of having to lose Rashford.

      1. Lallana_
        • 11 Years

Yeah, it's interesting how little love Bowen is getting. Possibly will be underpriced this season.

Another one I like is Jackson!

If Kane stays, you can do Watkins>Kane & Salah>Jota but less expected minutes.

I can't remember a promoted side in such disarray before the start of the season as Sheffield United are. They'd have been up against it keeping Berge and N'Diaye having lost McAtee and Doyle who were instrumental in the promotion push but having lost all 4 they are in tatters. I can see Palace and Eze in particular running riot at the weekend.

Leaving for nothing at the end of this season, to a club of his choice, and negotiating a huge sign-on fee would be really sticking to to Levy. Who has after all denied him move after move, and not matched Kane's ambition with that of the club.

biggest pet peeves with FPL this year:

    - prices
    - positions

prices are way too low. it should be a struggle to afford saka, rashford, salah and haaland in the same team - the 4 premiums from the 4 best teams. yet people are doing this with ease and have cash spare for a couple of premium defs like chilwell and stones.

a bunch of ‘midfielders’ like rashford, jota, mbuemo, b johnson etc should really be listed as forwards.

I like 2 better, although I don't mind Pickford and Gabriel if you can spend that 0.5 somewhere else

    Completely different take:

    Steele
    Chilwell, Stones, Shaw
Saka (C), March, Luis Diaz, Diaby, Rashford (VC)
    Darwin, Gakpo

    Bench: Sanchez, Solanke, Pau, Mee
5.5 mil in the bank 🙂 to fix things as hot in-form players rise to the top
