    G2G? I have made my changes very early after being burned by price changes in the past four to five weeks;

    Areola
    Trent, Porro, Estupinan, Doughty, Gusto
    Bowen (vc), Richarlison, Palmer
    Haaland (c), Watkins

    Dubravka, Gordon, Salah*, Semenyo*

Took a -4 for this team.

G2G - Strong looking team for weeks to come. Unless you're holding Salah then I'd deal with that next week. Gordon can wait due to peachy fixture swing coming in.

You've took a gamble with Haaland IMO. Hope it pays off for you.

I'm going to play GW21 with Salah benched, all AFCON group matches will then be complete by the time GW22 starts, so I'll have a better understanding of Egypt's position and route to the final (if at all)

If Haaland isn't fit, you would have over 25m tied up in "dead" players - over a 1/4 of your total budget

I'm aware, but this has stemmed since Luton where it wasn't a broken or fractured foot (half expected him back for Palace, figured if he's not, he'll get BGW18 rest too and then be back for GW19 Everton. Welp, that didn't happen. Cool he'll be back for Sheffield, but nope Pep said "January" well there's only two fixtures in January, so do I now lose him for Sheffield and he comes back for Newcastle and I waste two transfers taking him out and bringing him back immediately or do I risk him missing Newcastle and being back for Burnley because Pep said January.

Unfortunately some risks don't give reward.

Salah, again, who do I drop him for?
Saka? No thanks, just ditched him this week (In fact no Arsenal assets thanks)
Foden? Again, minutes risk with the return of KDB, Grealish, Doku (Don't want any MCI mids)
            Douglas Luiz? Not interested

It makes sense to roll for the week, I can play 5-3-2 or 5-4-1 and see the lie of the land for GW22

Unfortunate position - I tend to agree that there are no standout replacements for Salah this week, whereas there could be better options for gw22 - a long way off

but I think I may still sell Salah before his next drop 🙂

Based on many of AFCON over past years, I would suggest investing huge in defence. Most boring football on planet is this tournement.

    2 FT

What to do here? If Haaland is fit, then Darwin to Haaland and Salah to Jota is obvious move. But I would like to get Estupignan for Mykolenko also. That would be for a -4. Opinions?

I'd only be concerned if he is playing from deep again. Of course he still gets completely amongst it from deep, but maybe not as much worthy of captaincy from there, when compared with talisman. Really tough one this week though. I'm actually falling on Palmer at the mo, which scares me!

As opposed to positional line-up, I just meant how he is being utilized. But you're both spot on - even from that deeper role he is popping up a lot in good positions. I narrowly went for Richy over him and that was probably my personal toughest decision so far this season. At your expense, I hope I don't get punished and regret! - Good luck!

      9.8 - 9.0 = 0.8
      0.8 / 2 = 0.4
      9 + 0.4 = 9.4 = SP

      9.7 - 9.0 = 0.7
      0.7 / 2 = 0.35 = 0.3 in FPL
      9 + 0.3 = 9.3 = SP if SP = 9.7

    Hodgson on Olise:

"He’s good. We’re hoping this one is going to be nothing like the one that put him out of the game for nearly six months.

He’s been upset that he can’t play as are we, but let’s not put too much of a dampener on what’s going to happen going forward.”

Sounds like he's going to be out for a while again unfortunately, hope it won't be too long for the lad. Guess I won't be rolling FT this week.

Would say it'll definitely be at least a month or so if not longer going by his wording (saying he "hopes" it won't be as bad as the one that put him out for half a year doesn't strike me with any confidence, doubt he'd be really upset at missing just 1-2 games either given how long his rehab was after that tear)

I tried to create some sort of dream team for the run in after AFCON. Made this one with 5 transfers (including Tarko in
akmba to Garnacho besides 3 big hitters).Team value isn't everything, but I am atm missing exactly 4.0 million. Something simply has to give in. Son perhaps?

That would mean zero rotation with defenders in case of one week injury and still not solve the money issue. But yes, Tarko is just a place holder for any cheap def. Trippier is there in case he and Magpies bounce back which I expect to happen.

Richarlison has had mental counselling, but if he misses too many big chances and plays badly or gets irritated etc, he can be as bad as when he was dropped. Unlikely but far away from not being serious risk.

Hearing Pep has found Haaland once again meditating in the Etihad Campus janitors cupboard. This is the 8th time in the last fortnight. I genuinely think Erling Haaland has realised he's not actually Erling Haaland.
Just my opinion but reckon we won't see him for a while if he's going through what they call in zen, the 'initial shift'. Definitely a monitor situation for us looking to bring him back in.

Need to downgrade Salah to 7.1m MID to afford Alvarez to Haaland in one move.

    My current order of preference:

    Solanke, Watkins, Alvarez/Haaland

Horrible feeling Solanke will punish us if we bench him

If no Haaland I think I bench Alvarez

Think it would be Solanke here, although I do sort of agree with your fear & will likely be starting him in my team. I'm treating Newcastle as a plum fixture for attackers now until I see otherwise. Perhaps the break will do them good, but maybe it'll take a bit longer to rediscover their form.

Thanks, currently have Salah not Richarlison - could switch Salah directly to Maddison and solve any benching headache

If that ensures a Richarlison haul vs MUN I would be more than happy

Micky van de Ven’s return to the first team is imminent. Ange will make a decision whether to include him Friday’s squad or Manchester United baring any late setback.

Maddison still assessing and probably Brentford more likely than United currently.

      Good post here.

Maddison unlikely part of full team training yet.

Thanks, should certainly make a big difference to the side for a number of reasons. Will have to consider whether I'll go for Maddison again or just target Son on his return instead as I don't see myself being able to fit in both alongside Haaland and Salah again

With Maddisons injury record I'd definitely let him get at least 90 mins under his belt before buying.

Estupinan played LCB last night and had his knee taped up... Something to monitor.

Nah, take the hit closer to fhe deadline to make sure Estupinan is still fit after FAC

Guess I might consider selling if I had no one else to cover, but personally I'm happy to leave Trippier on the bench for a bit & focus on Son/Salah/Haaland

Is there any substance to Spurs signing Conor Gallagher this window rumours?

Read it a few times in recent weeks but would imagine Chelsea would slap a hefty premium on him for Spurs that'll likely put them off

It's Chelsea that need to sell home grown players in order to rustle up some cash to spend without breaching FFP

Chelsea need Gallagher more than he needs them. Aggressive, hates losing, lots of his teammates are tippy tappy lads without much workrate when the chips are down.

Just because they need to sell doesn't mean they'll make it easy for A) one of their fiercest local rivals and B) another side that they'll be aiming to be competing with for CL spots in the coming years. They've needed Gallagher a lot this season, no-one has started more games than him or played more minutes for Chelsea

Also funnily enough he's captained them in 6 of their 8 wins this season and they've lost only 3 times when he's captained them (8 losses). Plenty of other factors involved of course but a funny quirk

Substance but it sounds like Gallagher would refuse to move this window ...

maybe something about wanting to experience a relegation battle 🙂

What's the biggest transfer gain and loss you've made so far this season?

    Loss: -31 points
GW 3-9: Watkins to Jackson (3-5)/ Alvarez (6-9)

    Gain: 46 points
    GW 6-9: Chilwell to Trippier

Just seen the FPL team linked to your FFS account. That's a lot of transfers and hits! What's the thinking there?

I believe hits gain points, and value

              According to FPLStatistico

              Total Transfers : 41
              Total Points Hits : 92
              Total Auto Subs : 8
Total Auto Subs points : 29
Total immediate points gained from transfers : 127

It's not that difficult to pick a 3.9m def that gets regular starts, the options are extremely limited

Crazy the number of early transfers out for Salah and Son and transfers in for Palmer Bowen Foden. A lot could happen in the next 2 weeks with cup games etc so could people not just wait. Dropping a bit of value not as critical now we are in second half of season compared to hits if the early transfers go wrong with injuries before deadlines.
