While Danny Welbeck’s winner for Sunderland attracted keen interest from Fantasy investors, another player in the mid-price bracket quietly went about his business and hovered up another 3 Fantasy Premier League Bonus Points as a result.

Morten Gamst-Pedersen failed to register a goal or assist in the 1-1 draw with West Ham but, on investigation of the OPTA stats available to our Members, we can not only see evidence of perhaps his best performance of the season, we can also detect a transformation in Blackburn’s play that could promote the Norwegian in our thinking for weeks to come…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Just been looking through the comments since I got up and it's getting annoying how people are saying Baines is too expensive. I personally think he's a bargain, bar Cahill he is Everton's biggest threat and he is cheaper than Cahill with the potential of a cleanie.

Yep. Trouble is, Everton are to be bar Jags for weeks and bar Cahill for a month. So clean sheets and assists/goals both look less likely. January's fixtures aren't great either.

Dunno about that, Jagielka playing didn't make much difference to them keeping clean sheets to this point, this is coming from someone who bought Jagielka in WK11 and got 10 points from him in that time. He is a great defender to be fair, but that wouldn't put me off Baines, agree with Dannn17, I went Jagielka OUT Baines IN last night

Actual reason for MGP's improved stats: West Ham (h).

Their fixtures turn awful after this week.

I feel the MGP bandwagon has well and truly been missed.

+ gazillion. all those touches yet no through balls, no assists and all his shots on goal were his free kicks.

What do you guys think of my chances by playing this team?

    Foster
    Foley, Vidic, Givet
    Lee, Cahill, Nani, Nzogbia
    Tevez, Drogba(c), Carroll

I think that this starting eleven is good enough and I want to save the transfer for this week.

The Guardian has done a 'Worst 11 of the season so far':

Gomes; Johnson, Squillaci, Stearman, Ilunga; Ireland, Cattermole, J Cole; Balotelli, Torres, Saha.

I'd captain Joe Cole. Better than Messi. Righto

Squillaci seems a bit harsh to me too. As does Gomes. Robert Green makes more mistakes in 10 minutes than Gomes has all season.

gomes - no way. no clean sheet since the opening day but he has made some vital saves. torres has not been nearly as bad as some other strikers e.g carew, agbonlahor, carlton cole, doyle, boselli.

Not idea what to do with my team

    Robinson (Krul)
    Konchesky Kolarov Coleman (Elmo, Dann)
    Nani Malouda Nasri Bale (Albrighton)
    Carroll Drogba Tevez

It looks good to me but my scores haven't exactly been exceptional recently. Have got two free transfers. I'm reluctant to sell Malouda and Drogba, my biggest under-performers, because fatty is back and I couldn't bear it if I transferred them out after having them for the whole season, only for them to bite me in the ass.

Bale->VDV? Or is that just a waste of a transfer? Is it too much to have both?

    Any opinions very much appreciated!

If you lived in UK you would realise that at this time of year, clear skies usually mean frost and frozen pitches. Blackpool have no underground heating so the pitch remains frozen and the game gets called off. Hope you understand now. 😉

problem was you were stating an opinion as fact and not asking a question.

Not personal, its just that a lot of people say things on here as if it is gonna happen when it is just their opinion.

Manif - thank you for your comment, i reckon i would be more inlcined to believe someone who lives in the area over a weather forecast which are usually just educated guesswork.

I'm pretty sure all games will go ahead. Unless you're in the midlands/ east anglia, then all of the snow has already come, at least until this gameweek. Giving clubs & local authorities plenty of time to clear roads/ pitches of snow.

Get the sunshine and hairdryers out of your head. Even in the middle of the sunniest summer it's still freezing in Blackpool. The temperature and snow are the biggest factors. It's not forecast snow and the temperatures may be increasing so there's a chance they'll play

how does he not understand that if he said we want to take the world cup elsewhere before we all started bidding then we would have saved millions of pounds not bidding for it!, why not just do a world cup schedule instead of having countries bidding, so after qatar take the world cup to CUBA!!!!

I don't think so - not directly anyway. The majority is spent on marketing and travelling costs. Any money that goes directly to FIFA would be seen as a bribe.

I brought him in 2 weeks ago and bar 3 BP's he hasn't done a whole lot, he is a funny kind of FPL player really, very good player but playing for a team where he really can't realise his full potential, I never expect anything from him funnily enough, which is odd for a fantasy player, but I suppose he does deliver at home in particular. I would prefer MGP at the moment to be honest.

            Nani - Nasri - MGP - N'Z - Albrighton
1.7 in the bank, so if after this GW I decide to get VdV in, I'm gonna need another transfer to make some cash.

Blackpool say they will leave a decision "as late as possible" as to whether Boxing Day's game with Liverpool will go ahead.
The continued cold snap has played havoc with the Premier League fixtures, with the Tangerines facing the prospect of having a third consecutive home game postponed.

Having seen the matches with Manchester United and Tottenham called off, the Blackpool ground staff are hoping for an increase in temperature over the next couple of days.

The lack of any under soil heating causes its own problems and Blackpool have also struggled to find solutions to step up their preparations for the visit of Roy Hodgson's men.
