In this week’s Numbers Game, we take a look at that team data for the weekend and trace some patterns and trends which could shape our team selections for the season run-in.
You what I just realized, that invalid Torres screwed us in that now we never know if Drogba is gonna start. It would be different if Torres was banging them in, but he is ruining Drogba's and the entire attack's potential, except for Lamps..because he isn't rotated..
I just know somebody in my mini-league will have Captain Torres as he bangs in 6 goals in the DGW.

Same, everyone seems to think Arry is a great at man management he's fallen out with so many of his players before. Pundits are praising him for what he's done with Gareth Bale when the truth is he was willing to let him leave until they were hit with injuries. Arry for England...no thanks!
i like harry but i actually think he says stuff to make himself look better in the media. lennon hasnt played for a few games now and harry gets annoyed with lennon. lennon seems ot be honest to me.

i just read that ireland are not included in the 2011 world cup, despite being tenth in the ICC rankings. Zimbabwe, are allowed, in 11th place, as they are 'senior'.

Yeah ridiculous. Absolutely mental decision, this has been one of the best world cups I've seen and the Ireland v England match was one of the best matches in it. That and England v India.
Its a commonwealth thing. You complain and moan about not wanting to be one of our colonies, and yet when push comes to shove, you want to be in the cricket club too. Well you can't have it both ways! 😉

its not about being senior. 2015 world cup will only have test playing nations. once ireland start playing test matches (and are given test status) they can join in. Although, i personally am against the test-nations-only thing.
Agreed. It seems utterly bizarre that the ten teams selected for the 2015 World Cup are decided on according to their test ranking, rather than ODI rankings.
It's an absolutely pathetic decision, which is completely money driven - although I'm sure the ICC won't admit to that. They basically want to avoid a scenario like in 2007 where major cricket nations - India and Pakistan as was the case in 2007 - are eliminated early on, and so the ICC loses out on the money that these cricket loving nations would generate by participating in the later rounds.
Even the 2019 World Cup will still only have 10 nations competing, so the minnows - whose domestic cricket wont have progressed much precisely due to the lack of World Cup cricket, and the money that comes with it - will find it hard pushed to qualify, ahead of the test playing nations, even the likes of Zimbabwe.
It's an absolute disgrace, although it's fairly amusing how the Irish have changed their tune about the matter. Three weeks ago, after beating England, it was all 'we don't even give a shit about cricket, and we still beat you English! bwahahaha!. Now, everyone is up in arms over a sport that you supposedly don't care about. 😛
the thing i find stupid is that the teams are decided 4 years in advance. a lot can happen in 4 years, teams can rapidly improve or decline.
i like the idea of it being cut to just 10 teams but they should have had the usual suspects (india, australia, sri lanka, NZ, england, pakistan, west indies and south africa) qualify automatically then had a little tournament before hand between ireland, zimbabawe, bangladesh, the netherlands and canada where the top 2 in that make the world cup. it's scandalous they've excluded them without giving them a chance. even in football the like of san marino have the chance to qualify for the world cup on merit.

Why is everyone overlooking Beckford for a cheap striker? Pretty much nailed on started upfront for the rest of the season at Everton who will be looking to maybe even push into the last European spot. Was extremely unlucky not to score at the weekend, and has a pretty decent scoring record for someone who's only really been a sub all season so far.
