The Captain Poll for this Gameweek is at full blast, with nearly 2,000 votes cast already. Manchester clubs dominate the proceedings, with United and City solely making up the top five.

Nani comfortably sits atop the pile with almost a third of the vote. The Portuguese winger has been in blistering form as of late with 3 goals and 3 assists in his last four Premier League outings. Given his freshness, having been used sparingly in the midweek Champions League draw with Basel, he looks nailed on to start against Norwich and continue delivering the FPL goods.

Unsurprisingly taking up a large chunk of the vote is eight-goal Sergio Aguero, whose City side face a Blackburn defence that has conceded 13 times already this term. With Carlos Tevez now indefinitely suspended and Edin Dzeko potentially benched after a ticking off of his own, it’s is easy to see why giving “Kun†the armband is once again proving popular.

Wayne Rooney’s bolt from the blue back to full fitness has seen him make a late dash into third place- there’s little doubt Rooney would be top right now had his availability been confirmed earlier in the week. Team-mate Ashley Young is flying high with the same overall FPL points total as Nani, but a quiet last 3 Gameweeks sees him come in at fourth.

David Silva completes the top five with the next midfield prospects Rafael Van der Vaart and Juan Mata, who face Arsenal and Bolton respectively, much further down the rankings, collecting just a handful of votes each. Strikers make up the rest of the top ten with Emmanuel Adebayor, Robin Van Persie and Didier Drogba all fetching votes. Danny Welbeck is also in the mix but much of his support was undoubtedly collected before the Rooney and Hernandez news came though.

There’s still time to cast your vote on the homepage before tomorrow’s deadline.

johnfinlay John swears he'll deliver unbiased Fantasy Premier League tips and news...until Leeds get promoted.

    Has De Laet lost his starting place in the Norwich team? he can't play again united this wknd because he's on loan right? - wouldn't mind him for the next gw, and hate wasting transfers on defenders.

    hmmm, go with the captain poll and go for Aguero or Stick with Adebayor as captain? decisions, if i knew Aguero was on pens itd sway it, but the arsenal defence is weak and Ade could easily take advantage of their set piece frailties.

    on a wc (didn't have rooney pre wc) so losing cash not an issue

    1. pick rooney (c) and then rooney->rvp for GW's 8&9
    2. pick rvp, captain nani, and hope rooney doesn't run riot against Norwich (thus saving transfer)

    Surely has to be option 1 right?

          You can think ahead, but you should be flexible with your plans.

          I'd say be in a situation where you'd be happy with all your WC players for the next 5 GWs, and then be prepared to make subs on top of that.

          Injuries (international break coming) and suspensions can ruin everything

    SAF is a complete and utter tool. Got roon and dzeko out for aguero and hern for a four pointer. Did it last night. I don't even think hern will even start, it'll be wellbeck and rooney. Hate this game sometimes!

      To be fair to Fergie he never publically said anything other than Roon would be out for about a week (a week ago).

      It was other people jumping to conclusions and the people on here (you know who you are) stating that he is definitely out for the Norwich game.

      You gotta be selective in who/what you listen to on here

    16 point. Hope United and City bring back the bacon.

    Vorm
    Taylor Bosingwa Kompany
    Nani VDV Silva Ramsey
    Aguero(c), Hernandez, Sturridge

    Ruddy Simpson, Boyata, Ferguson

    and some lose change to upgrade of the 2 bench fodders next week.

      16 point hit?
      The measure of a good wildcard 😛

      Nice enough looking team for this week, I would worry about Hernandez and Sturridge starting but they have a decent chance to.

      You really think Blackburn are shit enough to give Aguero the (c)? I don't, they're an alright side. I'd give it to Nani instead.

        Yep.
        Blackburn having conceded 7 in the last two have aload of defenders out to add to that now

        An Aguero hat trick would be nice 😉

      Is this worth 8 points?

      RVP --> Aguero
      Taarabt --> Nani
      Dzeko --> Best (or another, less knee-jerk suggestion)

        No, because you will want RVP back next week ...

        Dzeko -> Adebayor for free?

            I'm not convinced he starts tomorrow after his tantrum midweek ... also don't think he's looked as sharp last couple of games ... often proved wrong though!

              I'm an Arsenal fan so could never do that! Also don't mind if RVP smashes it up against Spurs after I take him out, for similar reasons.

              With that 8 pts, my front 7 this week would be: Silva, Nani, Mata, Dyer / Rooney, Aguero, Best.

              Sway you the other way at all?

                Nope, doesn't sway me! As a Newcastle fan, also not convinced Best is a guaranteed starter .. especially not for the long term.

                Could always save your transfer for next week? Or you could take consolation if Adebayor does score? Or you could look at another alternative !

                    Me and my mates always talk FF before going to the game. If I'm standing in a pub near White Hart Lane and people find out I put Adebayor in because he's playing us they'll throw me to the wolves!

                      Haha fair game ...

                      I'd probably leave it then and make 2 transfers next week ... I really wouldn't do the 8 point hit above but best of luck whatever you decide!

                          heco87, thoughts?

                          Martin Petrov > Nani

                          RVP > Agbonlahor

                          Next week can always free trans in RVP for Rooney for their tough run, keeping Nani.

                Yes IMO. Ade is in good form and playing one of the leakiest defenses in the league.
                West Brom have been pretty poo thus far which is seriously limiting Odems scoring potential
