The Captain Poll for this Gameweek is at full blast, with nearly 2,000 votes cast already. Manchester clubs dominate the proceedings, with United and City solely making up the top five.

Nani comfortably sits atop the pile with almost a third of the vote. The Portuguese winger has been in blistering form as of late with 3 goals and 3 assists in his last four Premier League outings. Given his freshness, having been used sparingly in the midweek Champions League draw with Basel, he looks nailed on to start against Norwich and continue delivering the FPL goods.

Unsurprisingly taking up a large chunk of the vote is eight-goal Sergio Aguero, whose City side face a Blackburn defence that has conceded 13 times already this term. With Carlos Tevez now indefinitely suspended and Edin Dzeko potentially benched after a ticking off of his own, it’s is easy to see why giving “Kun” the armband is once again proving popular.

Wayne Rooney’s bolt from the blue back to full fitness has seen him make a late dash into third place- there’s little doubt Rooney would be top right now had his availability been confirmed earlier in the week. Team-mate Ashley Young is flying high with the same overall FPL points total as Nani, but a quiet last 3 Gameweeks sees him come in at fourth.

David Silva completes the top five with the next midfield prospects Rafael Van der Vaart and Juan Mata, who face Arsenal and Bolton respectively, much further down the rankings, collecting just a handful of votes each. Strikers make up the rest of the top ten with Emmanuel Adebayor, Robin Van Persie and Didier Drogba all fetching votes. Danny Welbeck is also in the mix but much of his support was undoubtedly collected before the Rooney and Hernandez news came though.

There’s still time to cast your vote on the homepage before tomorrow’s deadline.

Just noticed someone called BRooney is playing up front for Utd according to FSS team news page. Guess they only just managed to change that in time.

Please Dzeko don't fall tonight, please :))

Everybody stay put, he is extremely motivated against Bla, He needs 20min max to show his quality and with the new BP rules he'll get some surely,

I'm in the same boat but it's very hard to ignore Aguero now and especially when he's playing against a depleted Blackburn defense. I'm thinking of transferring Suarez and Dzeko for Sturridge/Ba and Aguero.

I had always assumed that a WC after this gameweek was the optimum time - 2 week international break, price rises, more info than the break that came after GW3 etc. The main reason I'd personally consider it ATM is to get City cover (Silva or more likely Aguero). Looking at the fixtures ahead and the general health of my team, I'm not sure using the WC next week is worth it though:

    Keepable
Given & Ruddy (combo still good until GW12)
    Bosingwa (season keeper)
    S.Taylor (season keeper)
Nani (Great form, United cover but tough fixtures)
    Mata (OK fixtures, Chelsea cover)
    Sinclair (Great fixtures until GW11)
    Jarvis (Good fixtures)
    Moses (Great fixtures and cheap)
    RVP (Great fixtures)
    Adebayor (Great fixtures)
    Suarez (Good fixtures in GW9-GW11)

    Dispensible
    P.Jones (Tough fixtures)
Brown (Out of form team, bad fixtures)
Olsson (Out of form team, bad fixtures)

Before I get griefed up, yes, I play the fixtures. I try to take a long term view and am not overly concerned with price rises/falls or hits. I feel part of the enjoyment of this game is lost when you obsess over prices and avoiding hits.

I just don't know if there is that much I would change especially if I am only using a WC to change 3 defenders. I would possibly downgrade a duo of Suarez, Nani and/or Mata to get in Aguero/Silva but I can do that over 2 weeks or with a single hit.

If you care to suggest better time to use the WC or tear apart my list, feel free. As long as its constructive it's always appreciated. 🙂

Your team is very good, and does not need a wildcard. I too play the fixtures. There is an internation break after GW11 and after then uniteds fixtures get very tasty, so worth trbling there, also stoke rotate realy well with QPR/blackburn, so you can look at def from they clubs. Personally i would hold off and WC with me in GW11, but it is just my opinion.

Great advice especially regarding the Stoke and QPR/Rovers rotation as I was eyeing up a Stoke defender in any possible WC.

So your major concerns are in defence.

I'd be slightly worried without Aguero/Silva but that's nothing to WC into.

I think you can save your WC now, your team is fine and you have small changes to make.

Just watch price changes and injuries.

The comments made by part time fans on here about Rooney made me laugh i.e. SAF was scared about Rooneys wellbeing playing against Stoke. Ooooo, scarey big men. He had a niggle - that is all. I would say captain him at your peril this week. On the bench.

No way SAF is going to bring Park in for a home game against Norwich. We'll be needing creativity to break them down not a work horse who's basically brought in as a spoiler/chaser against tougher opposition.

If Young is going to get a rest it would prob be more along the lines of: Nani Left-Wing and Valencia Right-wing.

Just a quick pop in before I head back out to the pub, came home because my girlfriend vomited all over herself 😆
    And it saddens me to see Roonpig is playing, however I am not regretting it because;
    1. It got me Aguero who should outscore him for next few until I WC
    2. I was able to get rid of Walcott and Odem > Nani and Adebayor instead of just 1 of the 2.
That being said, I'm glad I won't be watching any of the action this weekend from behind the couch!

Worse comes to worse, Rooney scores 3 this week and I WC as I originally planned, best case scenario Rooney draws a black and Suarez-Adebayor-Aguero go fine for the next month and I WC in GW11.

      Not worth the hit.

Mata has a very decent fixture and Young could score equally as well or better than Nani this week. Captain Young if you ain't got Aguero or Silva.

Has there been any hints on whether Lescott will play at the weekend? Got 1 free transfer, better to:

    1) bite the bullet now and lose Lescott for Kompany
    2) do something like Taarabt to Ramsey
    3) hold off and have 2 frees for the international break?

    Team is here:

I think you can afford to hold off man. You have great coverage for all the important games. Ramsey isn't necessary as you have RVP. Only player you're missing is a Spurs player, but you can sort that out in the break 🙂

Argh. Lack 0.2 value to downgrade Arteta for Ramsey to allow for Dzeko > Aguero for a 4 point hit.

Have no idea what else to do other than to keep Dzeko. I feel like Aguero is a must have this weekend though.

        Just kidding, it's friday 🙂

I think you've got it all right, I think Liverpool will concede this weekend as well. Enrique does get forward a fair bit though, remember he did pick up an assist and bonus last week even though he didn't get a cleanie...something to think about! I would've captained Silva over RVP, but after hearing Mancini is thinking of switching it up I think you've made the right choice there also!

        Sorry for rambling, basically:

        Consider Enrique
        Good team
