At 31 he’s not going to help bring down the average age of the squad, a stated goal of the club, but as a free transfer the Fulham boss, Martin Jol, who coached him at Hamburg, evidently decided he was too much of a bargain to pass up. He’s not going to be prolific and age may restrict how many games he can play, but Petric is versatile and should still be able to start 20 or so games a season. He may not be a glamorous signing, but he ought to be an effective one.

Having both allows me the luxury of switching either Aguero to Rooney or Tevez to Bent/Ade/Cisse dependant on whose in form, whilst still keeping ar City striker through Liv away and into the easy home game against QPR, and i'm covered against either of them going mental.

Had a bit of a reality check today (well, in the context of FPL..), and gave serious consideration to how much value each of my players are likely to offer.
While I may yet tweak the back 7 (need Swansea coverage, I think), the front 8 are key men from their respective teams, and so should be a reliable source of points (plus bonus).
