Batten down the hatches, Granville’s wildcard is active. Having suffered an abominable Gameweek 2 mauling, the Mancunian has shuffled, tail between legs, back to the drawing board. The excuses and justification are spread thickly throughout and Granville even calms his jerky knee long enough to strike back at my decision to transfer in Eden Hazard: the cheek of the man.

  I'm not quite sure how I'm going to fit Hazard in, RVP does take up a big chunk of the budget. I think it's worth it to have the perfect RVP / Tevez (c) rotation, though.

Just had a last minute decision to change my wildcard team to this.

Team is

Vorm, begovic
Baines, s. Taylor, Cuellar, Demel, Hughes
Hazard, HBA, Peinaar, Michu, mcclean
Rvp, tevez, Petric.

Basically I downgraded ade to Petric, but this means no spurs coverage. Is this wise?

    Bale's the reason I've trialled this WC team as Spurs have such great fixtures. Without him, I have Pienaar/Fellini plus Ba upfront (Newcastle also have nice fixtures).
    
    Will get a couple more price rises then settle on a team 🙂

Got a question/questions for all you fantasy addicts.

I'm on my WC and am pretty settled on RVP, Tevez and Adebayor front 3, but I could easily be convinced to drop Adebayor for a cheaper option (not Berbatov 😉 ) I've had Hazard from GW1 so I will be keeping him too and apart from that not many others that I have "guaranteed" a place in my 15 come Saturday morning. I have Kagawa in at the moment, is RVP and Kagawa too much? Maybe I should spread the risk... If I am to get Baines I might well have to drop Kagawa which needs to be done tonight before Baines rises.

I'm looking at a defense and 'keeper combo of

Krul | Mignolet
Rangel | Ridgewell | Baines | Clyne | Demel

But I feel it might be a touch too expensive, any ideas on how to reduce without removing Baines...

  Yu've painted yourself into a corner with Krul/Mig. I'd be tempted to downgrade that to Beg/Foster which is 1.0 cheaper I think. Use 0.5 to upgrade Clyne/Demel to Cuellar and you've saved 0.5 with little impact on your defence overall.

        Yes I had reservations about Begovic because of Sorenson, but he hasn't done himself any favors in that Swindon game 🙂 It's a great combo for the price.

        Not even close to deciding! The value is irresistably in favour of leaving him out. The only thing I really fear from him is his consistency which lets you captain him. If there's anyone else in the game with that I'd take them.
        
        Maybe Hazard if he proves it multiple times. Tevez can sort me this week.

        I agree that 13.1/2 is a very big price, but as you say its the fact that he offers such a great option as captain that tilts the decision for me. Tevez is just as good, if not better, option this week. I'm finding it hard to chose, hopefully they will both get a hat trick 😀

Just seen the Andy Carroll to WHU news.

I have to say I'm delighted.

As a loyal supporter, I held back from slagging him off on here or on the Liverpool forums.
(but).......he's terrible.

There is no place in top flight modern football anymore for a big target man that just wins headers that are flicked on to no-one in particular. Those tactics went out with the Indians and Fashanu, Quinn, Cascarino et al.

His first touch on the ground is awful, truly awful. When he receives the ball to feet most times he loses it immediately. When, miraculously, he does trap the ball well, he doesn't have the footballing brain to get his stupid pony-tailed head up for long enough to recognize the fact that more intelligent players are opening themselves up to receive a pass.

He then realises he doesn't have the wherewith all to pick out a pass and then panics. When this occurs, he usually falls over with the first semblance of contact from the defender. Referees just don't buy it when a 6'3'' Geordie lad goes sprawling on the turf after the slightest of touches...would you?

It was obvious he didn't suit Rodger's style.
It's a statement of intent by our new manager to the owners...."I don't care how much he cost...get rid"

Having said all that..the lad can score a good header! I thought his goal in the Euros was one of the goals of the tournament, for technique alone.

Agree with you are regards him not being suitable in terms of Liverpools needs. However his strengths if utilized correctly can make him a very difficult striker to deal with. Not sure if the day of the big centre forward has gone, perhaps its unfashionable at present, we must not forget his record at Newcastle.

Another last minute decision to change my wildcard team to this.

Team is

Vorm, begovic
Baines, s. Taylor, Cuellar, Demel, Hughes
Hazard, HBA, Peinaar, Michu, Lennon
Rvp, tevez, Petric.

Basically I downgraded ade to Petric, I decided to get Lennon in for a couple of weeks to cover spurs, then switch to aj or mcclean. What do u reckon guys?
