Three Premier League clashes, with little doubt on the headline act. The Manchester derby gets proceedings underway as City host United in the early kick-off. Spurs’ visit to Everton is the meat in the sandwich, while Liverpool’s trip to Upton Park rounds off Sunday’s matches. As usual, our Dugout Discussion chatroom is now open to collect your musings as the ninety minutes tick by.

The team news from the Etihad is intriguing. Mario Balotelli starts up front for City, with Carlos Tevez and Edin Dzeko left on the bench. Matija Nastasic is back alongside Vincent Kompany with Joleon Lescott benched as Gael Clichy returns from injury at left-back. Samir Nasri is in the midfield where he’s joined by David Silva who overcomes a slight hamstring concern to start. As for United, they bring in Antonio Valencia on his return to fitness, with Ashley Young on the opposite flank in an attacking lineup. Tom Cleverley overcomes a calf injury to take his place alongside Michael Carrick in midfield, while Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie start in tandem as expected. Rooney’s position will be of particular interest.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I'm happy with Ba and Defoe atm...

It would have to be RVP > Rooney for me but that's too much of a waste!

not trying to defend the city fans, though. It was disgraceful !

I was unfortunate enough to watch a game at the Ethiad in the City season ticket section (a friend bought me) and the majority of the fans were absolute knobs. They deserve the result to be rubbed in.

Wrong. Doing that is asking for trouble and often it's normal, responsible fans who get hurt as a result. A professional athlete winding up spectators in an already heated atmosphere? Grow up.

Absolutely. Ferdinand behaving that way puts innocent fans at risk. He'll be in the changing room, some poor fans will be getting bottled outside. Utter muppet. Neville did the same with the Liverpool fans once.

Ferdinand is in the heat of the moment. You score a goal like that, you celebrate. City fans doing something after the game are not in the heat of the moment, and should be heavily punished were they to do anything. Celebration = ok, violence = not ok.

Lol. Ferdinand is absolutely entitled to celebrate, but shouldn't do so in the faces of the opposition. It's highly irresponsible. And to be fair, the fans are absolutely in the heat of the moment too. Take off your rose tinted glasses.
