With cheque books fluttering on the eve of the transfer window slamming shut, our Fantasy seasons could be transformed by some notable new arrivals. In this week’s ScoutCast episode, Granville and I chew over the latest fresh faces to crash the player list – United’s “Angel” Di Maria and Liverpool’s “Devil” Balotelli.

With just a single point between us and the comfort of top 100k placings, my co-host and I are more than just a little content as we the rule over the current bandwagons and preview another weekend’s action. It won’t last.

Bed yourself in via this link, or get acclimatised via the handy player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

it's one thing for people to ask about Costa (myself included) but it's silly to be transferring him out already when the presser is in less than 20 hours! he's not even remotely close to going down and Aguero probably won't rise

Gues/instinct. Totalfpl have been accurate on most price rises so far. Aguero has a tiny ownership remember.

My whole plan was to get jovetic, get his price rises then get aguero. Hopefully the 0.3m from jovetic will pay for aguero's rises

    -----------------Navas
    Arbeloa-- Pepe --Ramos-- Marcelo
    --------Modric-- Kroos--- James

    That is just, wow, ridiculous.

there is no one to win the ball in midfield, Pepe and Ramos are lunatics and Marcelo will be overlapping a lot..Real will concede plenty (I suppose can just score more)

      * Carvajal at right back.

Pretty unbelievable on paper, but replacing Alonso and di Maria with Kroos and Rodriguez seems reminiscent of them getting rid of Makelele to fit Beckham into the team.

ignore price rises and wait for pressers tomorrow. if Costa is only out a week and Bojan is going to play, you can just field a 4-4-2 and save a transfer. 2 FT in a 2 week international break is very useful

Costa is likely to drop 0.2m over the international break. Drogba will start vs Everton IMO, why risk Costa? Perfect opportunity for him to recover.

I would save, mate. Leave Caulker as first sub, then sort it out next week with two frees you can either consolidate Costa and Bojan into two midpriced strikers or downgrade a midfielder and upgrade bojan. Either way I don't see any straight swap being worthwhile and I don't see any hit being worthwhile either.

Good morning all. Here's my wildcard team, I've taken on many of the suggestions from DZ people over the last few days. I did pretty well managed to get a 0.5 swing in fortune got very lucky with Mata, sold him, he dropped bought him back and saved myself 0.1. Also managed to pick up Caulker and Evans a bit cheaper than they were. So Tadic or Mata? Tadic alows me to swap Evans for Coleman in a few weeks. Mata gives me Utd coverage.

    Guzan Krul
    Evans Caulker Ivanovic Wisdom Hutton
    Tadic/Mata Fábregas Ramsey Cattermole Sigurdsson
    Sturridge Jovetic Adebayor

    Appreciate any input.

I don't think you should back the United and Rangers defenses. They are weak. At least in my opinion. I have Ferdinand and wish I haven't. But if you do, go for Rio imo. The 0.5 and apparently higher bps harvesting makes him a better bet.

Similarly Cattermole is one of the most liable 4.5s out there. He hardly ever scores, and racks up record breaking amounts of yellow and red cards.

      What does Tadic/Mata mean?

If he goes Tadic he can afford Coleman over Evans.

I have a bad feeling about Evans and Caulker too but United are still United and Caulker has good stats just nothing to show for it yet. I may take your advice about Rio though thanks.

Cattermole is bench fodder, if I ever need him and he gets me 2 points I'll be happy.

Tadic/mata means I'm still not sure which one to go with.

If you ever need him he'll probably get you 1 point, but fair enough, 4.5 isn't all too important 🙂

Guzan and Hutton are pretty much dead for 5 weeks after next week and if Ivanovic is rotated you have Evans Caulker Wisdom wouldn't want those 3 in a WC defense

Yeah fair point, I do have Krul to rotate. I guess I must do better than Caulker so. I hope Wisdom keeps his place. Evans is just in there for a few weeks.

    Rate My Mids

    1. Fabregas
    2. Hazard
    3. Mata
    4. Ramsey
    5. Silva
    6. Sterling

I'd say 2,1,4,6,3,5 ... so tricky. Doesn't even consider Di Maria!

But arguably, the best Chelsea mid is Hazard. That shouldn't prevent anyone having Fabregas too if they consider him earning more points than Ramsey, for example.

My "main" mini league is so crap. Even though I had a total mare last season and only won it on the last day by 1 point.
The guy who finished 2nd used his WC after GW1 and did the following changes

Gibbs-> Kosc, Navas -> Cattermole, Soldado -> Costa.

    All on the Saturday morning.

My main point being .. the MLs that you get to join from being a regular on here are amazing, the standard is so high and keeps you motivated throughout the season.

Yeah exactly the same for me, the mini leagues I'm in with actual real life friends are so uninspiring, sometimes their teams lie dormant for weeks...

It's certain people on here who I'm constantly competing against, albeit quietly and without them knowing about it... 😀

For me its got to the point where I don't try to be involved in friends mini leagues. If I get invited to join I'll reluctantly participate but it almost makes it less fun for them as I simply thrash everyone.

Hi RCA. Agreed--I always feel out of my league (which I probably am). Had a bad season last year, but this year I gave myself a serous handicap: chose a team three weeks before the start of the season and went on holiday. I knew I would be on holiday when the season started, but expected to be able to tweak. Then lightning took out my internet where I was on holiday, so I started with a well messed-up team. In short, I started with the team I selected in early July, and have been trying to claw back into contention since. Funnily, I am doing better this year than I was this time last year. But the killer is, as you suggest, that everyone else is so good at this that I have little hope of catching up!

Small bit of snobbery eh? He probably thinks youre just as bad goi g on a fantasy football website and discussing your moves. My leagues are mostly the same though. It gets a bit dull if uoure thumping them. Luckily we have one or two competitive ones. Its interesting to see the combinations. Those who know fantasy well, those who know footie well and those that are just pure mad.
