With cheque books fluttering on the eve of the transfer window slamming shut, our Fantasy seasons could be transformed by some notable new arrivals. In this week’s ScoutCast episode, Granville and I chew over the latest fresh faces to crash the player list – United’s “Angel” Di Maria and Liverpool’s “Devil” Balotelli.

With just a single point between us and the comfort of top 100k placings, my co-host and I are more than just a little content as we the rule over the current bandwagons and preview another weekend’s action. It won’t last.

Bed yourself in via this link, or get acclimatised via the handy player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Right lads, could do with some help. Had a nice GW1 and a terrible GW2...

    Krul / Schmeichel
    Debuchy / Clyne / PvA / Rio / Hutton
    Ramsey / Sterling / Siggy / Arnautovic / Albrighton
    Sturridge / Rooney / Costa

    .5 itb / 1 FT

Am thinking anywhere from saving the free transfer and sorting it out next week, taking a hit, using 1 free and wildcarding next week, basically all over the place.

Clearly Arnautovic needs to go, but thinking I would be better off upgrading his spot rather than downgrading. Was thinking of Costa and Arnie to Tadic and Ade for a hit? Would leave me some itb afterwards. Any tips or advice would be most welcomed, thanks guys.

Dont take a hit, save for this gw and sort it out the following week.

You could play 4-3-3 and save,
No hit IMO, if Costa is ruled out Jov/Ade in.

Arnie is the price you pay for going 3 big up top Walsh, I think in the long run you need 4 decent mids this year, Ade/Bony/Remy/Pelke need to emerge to give you that option tho.

Yep! I had high hopes for Arnie before GW1 started remembering how brightly he ended last season but clearly that has not worked out. Convincing myself of him really was the difference between me going three big up top versus not doing so. Oh well.

Hi HVT. Well done on your great start to the season. I agree with your advice. Do you agree that Arnautovic must go? I have him and am inclined to dump, but not sure getting rid is a priority.

Hi EJ- thanks I'm enjoying it while it lasts!
Personally I felt Arnie was overrated, sure he will come good at some point but can you afford to wait around?
Problem is Stoke are diss appointing ATM, we know they will improve and that will bring fantasy points but for me it's
9,9,9,6(Siggy), 4.5 till we know differant

Just wait , Arnie looks the only real problem, maybe when u have 2 ft do Arnie out Larrson in upgrade Rio, I like the look of Sturridge Sterling after the break I think could be the most high scoring attacking double up by quite a bit

Cheers Hammers. Am starting to calm down seeing these responses. May just bench Arnie after all and start PvA and Rio and upgrade him for free next week.

Other than the Costa inclusion, it passes for a wild card team. I think you have covered all the bases from the backs up to the front. Sturridge will be a good grab from here on in.

I ditched Arnautovic and brought Chadli in this week. Of course, I have no idea if it's gonna work, but couldn't take another price fall and there must be another mid-priced midfielder out there who'll have a breakout season. I'll keep looking...

cant take the probable aguero price rise tonite if i want to go costa>aguero

would b great if i could wait til presser but i will press hit now as i want aguero in my team long term anyway, if costa doesnt play and aguero scores again im going to want to do the same transfer early nxt week anyway as costa will price drop, and i can now plan a rooney>costa transfer for gw6 after city(a) and utds uber fixtures as i think costa is better shout than rooney

    sound thought processes?

in fact get dummett tonight for the price rise...you can also swop back to collo tomorrow if you decide you prefer him

Thanks. I don't mind the look of Newcastle fixtures and think the Man Utd defence will take a while to settle. So i'm less inclined at bringing DDG in. As it's a wild card i'm going for more nailed on roles. hence going for collo over dummett. the 4.0 defenders kind of killed my last team! Thanks so much for the contribution

Better than having a caretaker manager but it's pretty crap. Felt like relegation was in no way a possibility coming into the season under Pulis and now it is a very, very real possibility. Big swing in just a couple weeks, but we will be scrapping to stay up which is unfortunate.

Thought Steve Clarke would've done a fantastic job at Palace. Personally feel Warnock is an accident waiting to happen. On the plus side, you have Zaha back. Not all doom and gloom. You'll avoid relegation I think.

True, either way if you had the same squad under Pulis or Millen/Warnock without any more signings. Relegation would be looming.

Don't agree, finished 11th last year with half a season of Pulis, we would not have been in a relegation scrap with him at the helm all season. Impossible. Probably wouldn't have finished higher than 11th either, but would have probably taken it.

Just think United will be too strong.

I don't think Van Gaal even knows what tactics he's going to use this weekend so I expect Dyche will find it hard to have a plan. One thing's for sure, United have probably one of the most attacking sides in the league on paper.

Also I think it'll be a whole different Burnley to the Chelsea match. Burnley were away and knew the odds were against them so they lay low and played a counter attacking game, at home I'm not so sure they'll want to do that with United's weak defence. I think both teams will be all out attack and try to get the better of each other if caught in possession.

I reckon maybe 3-1 United, but who knows. Just have a gut feeling about Rooney (c), hasn't let me down so far 😕

I keep changing my mind about my captain, it's either Rooney or Jovetic. Currently on Jov as he's at home. Really tough one to call though, not sure I can trust Rooney at the moment.

            • 14 Years
            11 years, 10 months ago

I'm chopping between the two myself.

I'll probably go with Rooney personally now that all 3 City strikers have trained. I know Jovetic is the in-form man, but with City there's always that risk of an upset on the striker front 😕

I've come to the conclusion that just owning Jovetic at this stage might be enough without (c) him. A huge knee-jerk this week, but I'm not so sure how many bringing him in this week will actually (c) him.

think he looked fine..he was in the box plenty and came close with a free kick or two..

if Dzeko and Aguero are on the bench he could be in the hole behind Jovetic in a 4-5-1 😉

I thought for sure he'd play in the hole going into this season since Fernando came into the team, but it seems clear Pellegrini has other ideas. Aguero coming back from injury and Jove hitting form makes it see even less likely now.

And as far as his playing goes... It's been 180 minutes and I've yet to see him take a ball off anyone. I guess it is just part of his Berbatov-esque charm.

Guzan is glued to the bench for a month and you have Hutton anyway, would never want to double Villa defense no matter who they are playing. Was also just seeing the most acceptable route into .5 and that was calling to me.

I'm not and I'd rather take an 12 point hit than do it.

Any suggestion for a likely price rise and drop tonight?

I understand that the prediction sites still not work properly. 🙁

    Greetings all.

Would like some thoughts from you guys.

    Krul Elliot
    Terry Clyne Chester Wisdom Hutton
    Hazard Mata Ramsey Siggy Marney
    Rooney Costa Jovetic

    1 FT, 0 itb.

    A. Costa -> Ade
    B. Costa -> Ade & Mata -> Sanchez (-4)
    C. Costa -> Aguero & Mata -> 7.4 (-4)
    D. Keep the FT

      I'd be tempted by A.

A £10.5 m striker with a 'not as serious as first thought' muscular injury starting in a fantasy team is NOT good.

    Raonic vs Gojowczyk

    7-6, 5-7, 6-4, 6-6.

Going into tiebreaker, Gojo needs to win to stay alive.

Raonic double ace up 3-0 early.

Shouldn't have tiebreakers if one can win the match by winning them.
