With less than four weeks left until the season gets underway, the Sky Sports Fantasy Football game for 2015/16 finally opened its doors earlier today.

Whilst Fantasy managers start to build their opening squads, reigning champion Geoff Pryor will be hoping to retain his crown after earning a cool £30,000 for finishing first last season – if you missed our interview with Geoff, click here for the lowdown on his title-winning campaign.

As many of you will know, the Sky Sports game is one that we’ve covered in the past, with our Members area including the relevant bonus point recipients across the positions.

After winning the Best League for each of the last three years, we’re looking forward to defending our title once again. The winner of last season’s Scout League picked up £1,000 for their achievements and we’re hoping to offer prizes for whoever finishes at the summit once again.

We’ll be re-starting our official league soon and will be rolling out a series of articles over the next couple of weeks, looking at the Player List and analysing the best tactical approaches.

Regular contributor d1sable is on board once more to roll out his regular Friday afternoon articles – he clinched yet another top 100 spot in 2015/16 and will be looking to heap the pressure on Geoff at the summit.

We’ve set up a new community article to exclusively deal with Sky Sports Fantasy teams. Those looking to get involved with the discussion should click this link.

Journo at ESPN thinks Pedro could have the same impact as Sanchez, if he signs for Chelsea and is seriously underrated

    What's everyone's plan from GW 4 onwards?

    A. Sanchez should be back.
    B. City have a dream run ( meaning 2 attackers needed)
    C. United attacker needed. (good fixture)
    D. Chelsea attacker is always attractive.
    E. Chelsea and Arsenal defenders look good for points as well.

How do we fit them all in? If not who do we leave out?

Early WC or tactically planned initial team? What're you thinking atm?

United run for GW4-10 looks tough. Sanchez is overpriced when Ozil and Ramsey are 9 or under. Aguero is only City attacker anyone ever needs. Most teams already have at least 1 if not 2 of Fab, Haz and Costa.

    Myhill - Butland
    Azpi - Toby - O'Shea - R.Martin - Mings
    Fab - Ozil - Firmino - 10.5 - Wanyama
    Rooney - Giroud - Murray

Rooney --> Aguero after GW3 when fixtures get easier and he is fully fit.
Don't know who to have as 10.5m mid. They will go out when I put Aguero in to save the cash. Any explosive midfielders for 3 weeks?

Can't see an Aguero-less City starting well going forwards with those opening 3 games. Also there is no way I want more than 1 City player because Aguero gets all the points when he is fit. Silva is incredible when central but Pellegrini doesn't seem to play him there.

When people say "planning on getting X in for week Y" (and this is particularly true when Y = Week 2) is this on the assumption that the original player didn't score well (in which case, why have them in the first place), or that they did as well you wanted but you'd get rid anyway?

I'm curious to know how much of this forward planning actually happens. It's a brave manager to call it, see their player do well and get rid of them for a player who blanked just because you said you'd do it from the start.

It's not, and it's not a good idea to have too many transfers planned too far ahead. Unpredictable things always happen.

Typically with players like Aguero and Sanchez who will miss the first few games so they pick a player with good fixtures who is typically a settled and reliable proven BPL talent but not quite Aguero. For me it is Rooney to Aguero for GW4.

This makes a little more sense.

Though I've seen "planning to wildcard in week X" - that's just impossible to predict!

The potential difference between X & the player you plan to sell is likely to be higher than 4 due to the GW1 fixtures meaning it's worth losing a FT to make the change.

Obviously X has a tricky GW1 fixture or else you'd have them straight away than making a transfer in GW2.

I'm not sure he has requested a transfer, but there are rumours that he's not happy. Some talk of him returning to Atl Madrid. But bear in mind that he'll arrive late because of the Copa America, so Azpilicueta should be a lock for the first few GW

various twitter sources. Close to £9mil apparently. I only watch EPL with a tiny bit of la liga. I don't pay attention to players names unless there's loads of hype. Never seen anything flag up with Amavi.

Found a mention of this in the local newspaper Nice Matin, who however point out that the player doesn't want transfer (confirmed in an earlier article from a widespread paper), and in case of transfer would prefer Lyon and not want to go abroad, especially not to Villa.

But you never know, there's a chance that his agent does not ask him first.

Is good enough imo but does not have miles under the belt
            Probably clasie

Imo, he does a lot, but is very lacking technically. Especially ball in feet. Compared to Clasie who is mostly a deep playmaker, there's a big difference of how they would play. I would prefer with Clasie personally, thinking of Reed more as a backup for Wanayama.

      6.5.

Coloccini is my only criticism, but then Van Klaren may have a plan.

Otherwise I like the balance and some real forward threat there.

So basically Kosc, Chadli and Gomis or Richards, Wanyama or Costa? It could be slightly easier to decipher!

Probably the second option I think

Defense takes up way too much funds.

      Attack suffers as a result.

Not happy with that forward line. Jrod has a lot to prove to return to the team, let alone start scoring again. I'd monitor him.

      nice

I'd find .5 to do Giroud to Kane though. Maybe Francis to Saylor as a fodder.

Same 4 in midfield as me. I'd consider downgrading bellerin (debuchy threat) to maybe upgrade rudd and get a rotation going. Not sure about Giroud aswell but other than that solid.
