The Numbers Game – 2014/15 Review – West Ham

Our members articles analysing last season are completed today with a review of West Ham’s performances. The Hammers entered 2014/15 in reasonable health, having finished 13th in the Premier League in the previous campaign, although they only gained 40 points and did flirt with the relegation zone before finally confirming their top-flight status.

Plenty of changes were made in both playing and coaching personnel at Upton Park last summer, with forwards Enner Valencia and Diafra Sakho brought in, while Teddy Sheringham joined up as an attacking coach. Cheikhou Kouyate and Aaron Cresswell were also signed, while Carl Jenkinson and Alex Song moved to the Hammers on season-long loans.

In this members article, we asses the main goal threats and creators in Sam Allardyce’s final year at the helm and also compare the team’s attacking numbers to the previous year.

I would get rid of Silva. Without Aguero he propably won't get as many points to justify his price and when Aguero will be on form you'll have to get him anyway. I'am proposing Walcott, eventually Ozil.
I don't trust neither Lukaku or Everton. Pelle has much nicer fixtures.

      RMT pls:
      Hennesey (Myhill)
      Monreal Targett (Rose Alderweireld Jenkinson)
Hazard (c) Sterling Walcott Ozil Ibe

Just having a tinker, Really like this (RMT):

    Butland Hennessey

    Ivanovic Mert Huth Gomez Targett

    Hazard Sterling Cazorla Mane Fletcher

    Rooney Benteke Deeney

-Butland every week, Hennessey may well be no1 until Speroni comes back

    - Ivan and Mert every week with Huth and Gomez rotating, I know there is concerns over Gomez but I think it's his position to lose and having Huth as backup incase is fine with me. Targett is just 4.0 maybe 1 or 2 GW at start.

    - Midfield look pretty tasty I think, Mane is in for SOTs good fixtures, Fletcher can be Anya/Barry or other 4.5 no prob.

    - Forwards all nailed, Rooney will be the makeweight for Aguero if necessary.

    Opinions very welcome. Thanks. Giggity

He is injured, may not be fit on time for GW1. Pass and get Benteke

I might. We should know more before Saturday. Costa is just a place-holder for Aguero, anyway.

What do you guys think of the below?
    Butland schwazer
    Cedric azpi Coates baker mert
    Haz ozil sterling depay wanyama
    Rooney tekkers Wilson

Really think depay will shine this year plus might also be on free kicks
Last time Rooney played as a number 9 he banged them in
    Ozil or Wally or caz?
    Wilson or deeney?

Team is driving me round the bend!

Forever lurking, never posting....that me! Will do my first and last post of the season... What do you think of this motley crew.

    Cech (4.0)
Kolorov, Azpi, Francis (Cedric, Van Aanholt)
    Mahrez, Hazard, Sterling, Walcott, Sinclair
    Rooney, Benteke (Deeney)

2-pick-3 between Sinclair, Mahrez and Deeney?
Not for me, but I suppose it could work. Attacking returns are less predictable than defensive returns, which is why attacking rotations seldom work.
Other than that, I'd say there is too much invested in defence.

If you're willing to switch formations week to week (ie. 4 at the back sometimes) then it's not bad.

Back from holiday - back to work tomorrow 🙁 .. but luckily FPL season starting to keep up the spirits! (and I was actually thnking of nnot playing this season - spend to much time on FPL 😉 )
Starting pretty template, but just can't figure out a GK strategy... 9.0 rotating combo, or Cech/Courtois + 4.0. Difficult one , that

THanks, seems like its the preferred strategy around here. But I'm kind of thinking Cech + Azpi/Ivan or Courtois + Kosc/Mert could be as good as say Butland/Ruddy combo + one of Kosc/Azpi/Ivan. Cedric currently my no. 2 defender + 3x£4.5. But I want to cover both Chelsea and Arsenal in defence.
