Our first members piece of the week delves into the data from Gameweek 17. Everton and Leicester’s frontmen arrive under our analytical eye, as do United and Southampton’s toils up top, whilst we also turn to midfield and set our sights on Chelsea, Stoke and Villa.
LMS
Teams have been removed.
Congrats to the 1016 who qualify for GW18.
At least 82 out next GW.What percentage is that TM?
8% until GW21 where it's likely to go to 10%.
Red arrows abound, but on I march in LMS 🙂
Nice work. Might match last season.
Long way to go yet, but it would be a nice way to round out a likely rather dismal season.
I have a lot of red arrows except for lms! Rank 476
Very solid. 476 only represents the rank in the league this week.
Yep, just fun to notice
What was the score?
59 is safe.
Wow. I scraped through with a pathetic 60.
Same as average this week. Will be near average when the core players fire or as the numbers reduce.
ok thanks.
Yeah, get that red arrow off my teams home page. Still, gave me something to worry about just before the cup!
Great tourny TM.Cheers, hope you saw the Community Round Up mention a few weeks back.
Nice work TM.
Don't give a flying chisel about the percentages - just make sure the cut is below my entry 😉
Thanks as always - and Merry Christmas !Cheers mate and Merry Xmas 🙂
In the FPL cup I am facing a Mark Le Tissier from Guernsey. Could it be a relation of Le God?
We will all lose to dead teams in the first round. Same as every season
Yep. I don't think I have ever got past round 2.
Aren't we all effectively descended from Him ?! 😀
Good luck Diva....hope Mark doesn't have his cousin's erratic genius.
What a player Matt was - simply sublime.Thanks. Frankly, if my FPL cup opponent lobs me from 40 yards out to win the game I will applaud his triumph over me. If this song ever comes on the radio, I am instantly catapulted back 20 years to memories of Le Tiss wonder goals: http://youtu.be/WCm3bS6wXvk
For the young pups who didn't see him in his prime.....

Just a wonderful talent....loved watching that back.....And this is worth a watch too....
I had a similar tennis ball upbringing against a factory wall at the end of my street when I was little....
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AumHXtfyKQc
Funnily enough I never became a first division superstar though, haha !!!!.....and I tell you what, Diva - Watching that makes me think Mark will drop the nut on you if you beat him !!
link?
Cheers
Matt Le Tissier has a brother called Mark
Yep, Andy has pulled up a quote below. I suspect it's someome a generation younger though.
https://uk.linkedin.com/in/mark-le-tissier-42a7254
Company matches his MLAwesome! Great detective work Jarvish! 😀 However I did click on that link while already logged into LinkedIn so now he may be scared his FPL Cup opponent is cyberstalking him! 😯
lol - maybe if you give him a good stuffing he'll be impressed and offer you a job?
I'm pretty sure everyone in Guernsey is related #sixfingers
"All three of Le Tissier's brothers – Mark, Kevin and Carl – also played football, but never professionally"
So it's possible...
What a lovely thought.
Best 5th mid for 7.3max?
A alli
B willian
C other: please preciseA
In any other season 7.3m would be a lot to spend on a fifth midfielder. Alli will keep your team in better balance if money becomes an issue again.
A for me.
Thanks all, money doesnt mean anything this far!
Am I the only one who thinks that Vardy will almost certainly be rested ahead of the City game?
Vardy knows how to rest?
There's a chance. Not planning any transfers until more news if possible.
Why would he?
Because he limped off holding his hamstring last weekend?
Ranieri aldready confirmed it was a precaution and that it was nothing serious.
He would say that ahead of a 6 pointer against City. Plus, he can afford to rest his top scorer against a mid-table team if there's any doubt whatsoever
I´m going to wait for Ranieris final presser. Wouldn´t mind him being out.
If he only was confirmed out.. I would swap for Kun.
Exactly
he could play and get a yellow card, so reting him is a possibility
Another valid point
Might have been smarter doing it vs Everton.
Not his decision though, Ranieri should have told him.
But i think we are underestimating liverpool a little, he may need him in the bench if things aren't good.
All just speculations 😀Hopefully he's ok. Will be upgrading Surman most likely for the Xmas period anyway.
Nowhere to be seen in the training pics today
GTG?
Butland
Ward / Toby / Bellerin
Mahrez / Ozil / KDB / Alli
Lukaku / Vardy / Kane
McCarthy / Wijnaldum / Dawson / Moreno
Thinking of taking Wij out for Ramsey for a hit.I wouldn't do it this week if it's for a hit, considering you have already got a strong team AND strong bench without needing to, but next week I say go for it.
Thanks, Geordie. Also, think Alli before Wij is the way to go this week?
Tbh I haven't much clue. I have no idea which Newcastle is going to turn up each week, which is largely why I don't own and haven't owned any of our players this season. Given his form, and easier fixture, I'd say play Alli. Though I would like to be wrong 😛
Thanks.
Looking to replace Richards with a Spurs defender, and I've been playing around with the comparison tool. Truth is that I haven't watched much Spurs this season, or owned any of their players apart from Kane in the past few weeks, and I was looking for some opinions as to the comparative value of a few of their defenders.
In particular: Walker, Dier and Alderweireld.
This is how I currently understand it:
Walker: Higher assist potential, propensity for YCs
Toby: Goal threat from corners, not really a BPS magnet unless he scores
Dier: Small goal threat from open play, not a BPS magnet at all
Considering my defence currently stands at: Kolarov - Bellerin - Moreno - Ward - Richards
...which do you think would be the best addition if I'm looking for depth over the festive period?
I think ordinarily I would pick Toby but is his higher price justified? I don't want to dig too much into the Aguero fund, or unbalance the defence too much. Plus there's a minor differential to be had in going for one of the other two.
Penny for your thoughts.Toby is more nailed as they don't rotate centre halfs anywhere. Played all Europa games as well
Interesting - I didn't know that - cheers!
No need to rest centre halfs, they don't run very far!
I would know - that's my position 😀
Toby probably is the best to go for as most nailed. I got Walker in yesterday but only went for him as he was the cheapest and need the cash to do the two transfers I intend over the next couple of weeks ( Kun and 2nd Arsenal mid)
Didn't realise Walker was on 4 YCs though!
Yea the 4 yellows is putting me off, even though they reset after 2 more games. Cheers mate.
No worries. Good luck with your choice
Just did VvD to Alderweireld. Thought about Walker and Rose also but decided to spend a little extra. Just seems like the better pick overall.
Current results “prediction” for each match this GW (based on each team’s number of team goals spread market mid-point).
Stoke 1 Man U 1.25
Villa 1.2 West Ham 1.15
Bournemouth 1.4 Palace 1.2
Chelsea 2 Watford 0.75
Liverpool 1.75 Leicester 1.25
Man C 2.8 Sunderland 0.75
Swansea 1.4 West Brom 0.85
Spurs 2.2 Norwich 0.85
Newcastle 1.3 Everton 1.5
Southampton 1.1 Arsenal 1.5
For example, if Stoke v Man U was played, say, 100 times, the spread-betting website reckons that Stoke would score 100 goals (i.e. a 1 average) and Man U 125 (i.e. a 1.25 average).Interesting way of looking at it. I'm especially surprised that the odds think Bournemouth would beat Palace more times than the other way around.
Current "traditional" odds - Bournemouth 6/4, Palace 21/10, draw 12/5
nice, good for betting
Would appreciate some second opinion on what to do.
Current team:
Butland
Smalling, Bellerin, Ward
Özil, Eriksen, Barkley, Mahrez (C)
Lukaku(vc), Kane, Vardy
Schmeichel, Hoolahan, Moreno, Galloway 5,2 ITB. 1FT
Sold De Bruyne last week for Mahrez back in, got away with that. No City cover for now.
In midfield its either Eriksen or Barkley out, but not to keen on that with fixtures this GW.
A) Smalling & Vardy -> Dier & Aguero -(4)
B) Eriksen-> Silva
C) Barkley-> Silva
D) Sort out Galloway for x-mas rotation
other options?I would want some City cover this week, so I don't mind the look of B. D is also a sensible move, albeit boring.
Thanks for reply. B might be the one. Aguero didn't look like a 5 goal man against Arsenal, but he didn't before GW8 either.
C or hold if you can
Not sure if i can, not City for SUN at home is a huge risk imo.
Ramsey or Barkley people ? Or even Alli (as 4th mf)
Theo?
Ramsey, Alli should be a 5th mid for me
Ramsey for me.
Best Moreno replacements anyone?
Spurs: Dier and Walker, but not sure which?
Palace?mfiztures?
West Brom? Pulls?Keep him, he is cheap enough. Klopp will sort that defence out in a few weeks
With Skrtel dead and out for 6 weeks, Pool will look even worse at the back.
Three 1´pointers in a row and Hendo back stealing his set pieces. Think I have to get rid tbh
Agreed, pool were shaky beforehand and now without Skrtl I don't see it much better, any recommendations?
I´m looking at Bellerin or Ivan.
Maybe even Sagna.
Ward
Bournemouth,Watford and Villa.
What a joy.Skyrtel out. Leicester to roll over liverpud yes? Mahrez (C)?
Yes
And captain mahrez even with skrtelStrongly considering it.
Sorry if this is a stupid question but how come this next week isn't a double GW when teams are playing on 26th and 28th-30th?
2 different GWs.
Because a gameweek doesn't always equal a week. It is a round of matches. Sometimes the schedule gets messed up and a few matches get rearranged in gaps between existing rounds of matches. It is in those weeks you get double gameweeks.
Ah OK thanks very much for this explanation!
Single GWs as they are scheduled fixtures.
Double GWs happen when teams have had a previously scheduled match postponed because of weather or involvement in a cup match when a PL fixture should have happened.
Keep an eye out on here and you will get plenty of notice of future DGWs and you can plan accordingly.
Not a stupid Q, GL with your season 🙂
Unlucky EDHID 🙂
Not sure why you didn't mutually quit when I couldn't fix my lineup, played with a formation I've never used and no Kompany with subs wasted.
GG.Oh sorry. I just saw your comment.
Want a rematch?
Nah. Playing FUT.
Excuses
You got a Ps4, Berbs?
Yep. I've played Gooner97 a few times and Arvion too
Ah, want a game now?
Can't play atm. Tomorrow?
Yeah that's fine. PSN?
brazilianmagic10
Sent you a request. Accept it when you can 🙂 Mine's JazziiHD 😉 🙂
Looking forward to beating you 🙂
I'm the best around mate 🙂
Imagine having Sagna and Kolarov and Mangala in defence in FIFA. Also Bony. Having to waste subs... No Kompany.
😛
No worries.
anyone know anything that suggest Sterling would start this week?
his star studded backups
It's the same with KDB who may not start if he wants 2 fast wingers and you will get the joy of Navas instead..
Your question is a little vague but I believe Sterling will start this coming G/W for what it's worth.I think he will absolutely start because there is no reason not to.
sagna nailed?
For 3 BAPs, yes
Clichy can play on the right.
should i get him in for moreno?
Don't get any Liverpool defender.
Misread that, sorry. Maybe it's time to consider Ivan?
Moreno out if u like cs
For gw18 woyld you prefer to play
A smalling
B kolarov
?B
Smalling, and I believe a double up with DDG may bear fruit.
Kolarov easy
The big numbers back up the first part of my transfer this week.
What you changing?
I read the first three lines of that article and then lost intrest.
are the price changes about 1:30?
1.12sh
1:12ish
Often a little before, maybe 10 minutes.
thanks all. mane should be safe for 1 more night then...
Thoughts on Coleman-->Dier this week?
Yes, Jag will bring back more solidity but Spurs will reward us with their consistant bulwarkness.
Lukaku, Kane or Mahrez. Lukaku, Kane or Mahrez.
Ahhh, these captaincy decisions 🙁Vardy surely worht a shout oo if he's fit? 😉
Going through similar debate in my head. Throw silva and kun in there for good measure
anyone considering going back to a power 5 midfield for Xmas?
I have the option of doing Surman to Ramsey and leaving very little in the bank or doing Eriksen to Ramsey and have money to get Aguero in.I have without realising it. Got Alli in a couple of weeks ago! Think I'd do the Eriksen move if I were you
Great score this week mate, another bad loss for us. We has a good team score too mind!
Yeah, we got the joint second highest score out of all the countries across all the groups by my reckoning- Indonesia were the only team who could possibly have beaten us. I very nearly used my AOA chip - would have gotten Alli's points if I had and we'd have beaten them 🙁
Are Coutinho owners shipping this week? Considering a move to Ramsey myself
No, he could burst anytime and i wanna be there
Very disappointing.. Not an owner but would ship if I was.
That Firminho Coutinho bubble is burst I feel.
How are we all this morning folks? 🙂
Still rocking after our sickening defeat to Indonesia! How are you doing?
Replied to you above! Annoying loss 🙁
Hi Dragon_ I'm slightly inebriated but can still hold down a conversation.
Dann or Dawson? Dann ahead of Dawson in watchlist. Cresswell also high up there. Need to get the right one this week.
Manish Bahsin, who works for BBC Sport, has said on LFCTV that Drinkwater may be out for a few weeks and Vardy is a doubt and hasn't trained yet but will be itching to play
kdb really isnt doing a lot he. the odd explsoion but thats it. i mean, obvious keep this week but after that think he'll be gone for me
I agree with your sentiment.
KDB or Barkley this week?
I´m starting both. Brilliant fixtures.
Plan to bring Ramsey and have strong front 8, so someone has to be benched.
Silva or Walcott?
Wally.
Silva didn't look like much, and Walcott scored a beauty.
Front 8:
Mane/mahrez/KdB/Ozil/sterling
Vardy/lukaku/ighalo
2FTs, 4.8itb, what would you do? Mane to walcott/ramsey/Alli?
