Saturday’s Premier League action culminates in Aston Villa’s home clash against Leicester City. Having recorded just their second win of the campaign last Gameweek, the Villains will be desperate to generate some momentum and stymie the visitors’ unlikely title charge. The Foxes, meanwhile, are fresh from a 1-0 victory against Tottenham Hotspur.

Leicester’s win at White Hart Lane marked the first time they’d scored in four outings, meaning that Crystal Palace (zero) are the only club that’s tallied fewer goals than them since Gameweek 18. Moreover, only three teams chalked up fewer shots on target (11) than Claudio Ranieri’s squad during that period. On a more positive note, Leicester allowed the fewest goals (one) and scooped the most clean sheets (three), illustrating a newfound diligence at the back.

Notwithstanding their lacklustre goal-haul (three) over the previous four Gameweeks, Villa charted in the top half with regards to shots on target (16) and fourth for shot accuracy (38.1%). That being said, they were the only side who failed to register a solitary big chance, illuminating their paucity of creative flair. On the defensive front, the West Midlanders were effective at limiting their opponents’ influence, conceding the second-fewest shots inside the box (21) and joint-fourth-fewest big chances (four).

Mahrez played like last seasons Hazard first half of season.

Second half of the season he's playing like this seasons Hazard.

Utrecht accepted Norwich's €9M for their 21-year-old top goalscorer Haller, but after visiting the club, the kid turned the big contract offer down.

I haven't ever rated the kid really, but am going to follow him better from now on, because I liked the attitude with which he said that yes, they offered him a silly big salary, way above anything he can get at Utrecht, but he's fine at Utrecht, and wants to continue to play and progress in a team that has a well-going sportive project (Utrecht are 7th in the Eredivisie) that counts on him.

I'm almost sure he would have got fielded at Norwich too, seen the quality of their current strikers, but still, very much like a young player who cares about the project he's in and wants to play rather than just make silly money. Seems like that kid has at least a good mentality.

i think his agent said he'd prefer to play for a team in the european cup. i assume there's another offer on the table, which he is considering.

Could be on bench and end up in Championship, really. Netherlands is a great place for a striker to learn his trade.

what the hell is Ranieri doing, mahrez was looking so good feeding those balls to Vardy and he brings in a striker Ulloa for him?? Mr tinkerman better keep his best players, Mahrez and Vardy on for 90 minutes

Great business for Southampton though, potential to be a bargain and for Austin, I'm sure he will enjoy being at a club without relegation looming.

Not really. Even though he was mostly injured, his ten odd goals in the first half of the season is the only reason they are not in the relegation zone.

I know TV means nothing until you sell, but selling Mahrez (still the top scoring MID) ahead of 2 home fixtures for a measly 6.5 is tough to pull the trigger on..
