Fresh from their second win in five matches, Aston Villa endeavour to keep their survival hopes alive with a win over Liverpool. The Reds surrendered a two-goal lead in the final 10 minutes against Sunderland, so they’ll be in pursuit of just their second win in seven outings.

The Villains’ productivity on the attacking front will have to improve if they harbour any aspirations of staging a miraculous escape, considering that they ranked joint-second-bottom for big chances (two) and fifth-bottom for shots inside the box (22) over the last four Gameweeks. On a more positive note, Remi Garde’s unit conceded three goals and notched two clean sheets, establishing a solid base from which to build upon.

Liverpool racked up seven goals across the previous four Gameweeks but were carved open at the back with ease: the Merseysiders shipped nine goals and were one of just four teams that failed to register a single clean sheet. Moreover, only five clubs have conceded more goals in road ties (19) than Liverpool. Given that Jurgen Klopp’s men shipped eight goals in their last trio of away matches, the Reds’ boss might feel inclined to adapt their approach.

Watch on Valencia injury news - keep fingers crossed he recovers.
Or maybe Sakho will be back.

Sanchez captain was one of the very worst picks of the season. Out of form vs an in form Leicester defence. Couldn't believe my luck when I saw so many had taken the gamble. That said his stats have been amazing, and he's been 'due', blah blah.

at least he's not a hazard, i mean he's getting into positions and plenty of chances. its a matter of time before he slots them away, i dont think far at all

I'm not sure Arsenal fans realize just how important that goal was. According to my in-season model they're now 68% favorites for the title whereas they were only 48% at 1-1. Incredible

Nice stats but it felt like everyone knew how important that goal was.

I see a lot of "we're back in it!" posts. What I'm trying to say is that they're now heavy favorites to win it.

      http://www.turnstyle.co.uk/football/2016/01/18/revealed-premier-leagues-5-deadliest-strikers-ever/

Sturridge not in top 5, but he should be just outside it I guess.

Sturridge for the DGW. Wouldn't captain him though, you know you'd get a first game injury!
