Recorded minutes after the whistle blew on a miserable midweek under lights, we had no choice but to fantasise about Chips and Double Gameweeks to get us through this latest ScoutCast episode.

I’m joined by Jonty, Andy and Luke as we lament our sub 40-point tallies, moving on swiftly to lose ourselves in the thrilling, Wonka-like nonsense that lies ahead thanks to the bizarre Bench Boost FPL chip.

We come back down to earth to answer another bout of community questions, assessing the merits of City’s assets through their fluctuating form, the Payet problem and even end by revealing our modest rank expectations for the rest of the season.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first aired live via our YouTube channel. Be sure to subscribe in order to get a heads up on new episodes.

You can view the full Google Hangout version via the bigger player below, or bask in the edited audio cut via this link or the smaller player.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Butland (che) or Elliot (BOU)?

I reckon Butland could get a lot of saves and both will concede. Thoughts?

    (Just asking the new crowd)

Newcastle at home much stronger? Elliot could be worth a shout although if Costa etc are rested more chance of a Stoke cleanie

Cant choose between Alli or Costa this week, one might be rested and the other not really in form.

    Forster
    Fuchs Daniels Alderweireld
    Payet Mahrez Siggy(c) Silva
    Aguero(vc) Vardy Costa

    Elliot Alli VVD Jagielka

I hope we get some performing big hitters next year and less of these 5.5m megawagons. FPL is at its finest when there are tight budgets.

I want to see people scrambling over to their jar of hits in a reckless rush to restructure their team after a Sanchez hattrick. I want to see questions like "Has anyone managed to squeeze Aguero, Sturridge, Hazard and Sanchez into a team yet?". Best of all, I want to see heavy defences get stripped back to the bone in desperation and see 5-way 4.0m defender rotations fail when they're forced to remove a dropped defender.

    That's the FPL I know I love 🙂

This season been amazing though. So much choice. The only bugbear has been the consistency of leics and Kane and lukaku (till Jan anyway)

      1. Piggs Boson

The ample budget allows choice, but it also creates uniformity as everyone can afford a brilliant team.

Vardy, Mahrez, Ozil, Payet, Alli, Kane, Aguero - Why would you deviate too far from this?!

            • 11 Years
            10 years, 2 months ago

So you are basically saying for FPL to feel good again all you have to do increase TV by catching early price rises (which casuals won't do ) and after you can afford them all you have to do is buy big hitters and sit on them why would you deviate from them ?
Same case you just don't want the people without less information to not have access to higher level players

            1. Piggs Boson
              • 14 Years
              10 years, 2 months ago

I want there to be more skill involved, yes. But not as simple as chasing value early on! There are so many more subtitles to the game. Like team structure, and cash distribution, by that I mean being able to bring in bandwagons with 1FT instead of major rewiring.

    2. Mr. Grv
      • 11 Years
      10 years, 2 months ago

I think this has been great FPL season as a whole if you remove Leicester's consistent performances and this season has given us a lot more choices then any other season instead of just getting your TV high up early on in the season and then just brining in big hitters

      1. Piggs Boson
        • 14 Years
        10 years, 2 months ago

It's been a change. But because it's easy-mode everyone seems to be at a similar level and there's not much opportunity for movement.

With the amount of money to spend new signing will continue to be both cheap and good.. Look at khazri as an example or payet... Very rare that we go back to old fpl days mate.

      1. Piggs Boson
        • 14 Years

Maybe... but Ronaldo's handed in a transfer request apparently 😉

There are always mid-priced bargains, it's fun seeking them out.

        1. Mr. Grv
          • 11 Years

Yup only difference is this season mid -priced bargains are performing better than elite midfielders

    4. Pasqualinho
      • 16 Years

In short, you seem to want an FPL where those diligent enough to manufacture a high TV get a better advantage than they have this season. And I see nothing wrong with that.

      1. Piggs Boson
        • 14 Years
        10 years, 2 months ago

I think I emphasised that point to much 🙂 The budget restrictions bring rise to a whole vault of different tactics and team variations.

        1. Pasqualinho
          • 16 Years
          10 years, 2 months ago

I can't disagree with that, really. The need to 'get creative' with a couple of cheaper mids or forwards or battles between 352 and 343 (or even 4 at the back) would give the game a beter twist and promote the possibility of a big rank change, which is really what all chasers want.

          1. Piggs Boson
            • 14 Years
            10 years, 2 months ago

I like the change, the season hasn't been too bad. I'd just like it to return next season.
Decisions have been fairly straight forward every week.

Recent FPL players must be wondering what I'm talking about 😀

    2FT, so Ighalo out. But:
    1. Who else out of Dann (can't believe he's still on 22.5%), Cresswell?
    2. Who to bring in for both?

Have LSTR, SOTON, and ARS coverage in defense. Vardy and Kun up front

        I have him and williams

Don't know what to call it but i'm not too scared of not owning him. I even think Ayew and Routledge will score more.

Bringing in kompany and hart with long term dgw abit overkill? Thoughts on this potential madness after a 3-0 drumming?
