We pop out to the Weekly Shop for our final Wednesday article, as we analyse the player lists of our partner games to highlight the likely targets that will make up our own weekly squads.

As per usual, the player analysis is split into two sections: I’ll break down the key targets that no squad can do without in “Better Buys”, before seeking out those one-shot “Poundstretcher” prospects that can provide us points, whilst freeing up funds.

For this week’s selection, we’re focusing on the FantasyBet and DraftKing player lists.

Better Buys

Given that Crystal Palace have lost their last five consecutive home matches, conceding 12 goals in the process, they face a tough task to halt Leicester City’s charge for the title as the league leaders visit Selhurst Park this weekend. Against Newcastle, Kasper Schmeichel (FantasyBet 4.5m, Draftkings $4,000) kept a third clean sheet in four league outings, while investment in the usual outfield assets also looks set to continue returning points.

Craig Dawson (FantasyBet 5m, Draftkings $4,200) is expected to be fit for West Brom’s encounter with Norwich City as he looks to add to his three-goal haul this season. If the right-back misses out, though, Jonas Olsson (FantasyBet 4m, Draftkings $2,200) or Gareth McCauley (FantasyBet 5m, Draftkings $2,100) could be worth considering. Alex Neil’s side are struggling for goals, having failed to net in five of their last seven matches, so clean sheet points look on the cards for the Baggies’ rearguard.

Swansea may have fallen to defeat to in-form Bournemouth but Francesco Guidolin has overseen a revival in the Welsh side’s fortunes of late, picking up back-to-back wins prior to the encounter at Dean Court. A home tie with basement-dwellers Aston Villa is a promising opportunity for the Swans to distance themselves from a relegation scrap and they offer us strong options at either end of the pitch. Ashley Williams (FantasyBet 4.5m) has been the stand-out defender, picking up 20 points from seven clean sheets, whilst Gylfi Sigurdsson (FantasyBet 7m) has been the main goal threat, scoring seven times in 11 appearances since the turn of the year.

Harry Kane’s (FantasyBet 9.5m) season appears to be on an upward trajectory as Spurs head into the run-in with a chance of silverware. The forward’s double against Aston Villa leaves him one strike short of the 20-goal mark ahead of a home clash with a Bournemouth outfit that’s kept only three clean sheets on their travels. Encouragingly, Kane has produced double the number of shots on target than Sergio Aguero (12 to six) over their respective last four matches.

Poundstretchers

Watford’s win over Arsenal in the FA cup could kick-start their league form after a recent run of inconsistent displays. Considering that eight of the Hornets’ ten shut-outs this campaign have arrived at Vicarage Road, Heurelho Gomes (FantasyBet 4.5m, Draftkings $3,800) and his backline clearly prefer home comforts, and the visit of a Stoke side that have blanked in half of their last eight away ties bodes well for the Brazilian shot-stopper.

Kevin Wimmer (FantasyBet 4.5m) makes another appearance in the bargain picks – the defender helped Spurs to a first clean sheet in five at Villa Park and remains a budget route into the meanest defence in the division. Eric Lamela (FantasyBet 6.5m) may not have the allure of more obvious picks such as Dele Alli (FantasyBet 5m) and Christian Eriksen (FantasyBet 8.5m) but the Argentine is quietly having a productive season with three goals and five assists tallied so far. Over the last six, he’s recorded far more shots in the box (12) than Eriksen (five) and Alli three), despite registering less pitch time ahead of the home clash against Bournemouth.

Rafa Benitez’s appointment should make the Tyne-Wear Derby an even more compelling clash, with both clubs’ top-flight status hanging in the balance. Jermain Defoe (FantasyBet 5m) picked up an eleventh goal of the term to secure a valuable point for the Black Cats at Southampton – the veteran forward has scored five of Sunderland’s last seven away goals and appears the most likely to dent Newcastle’s hopes. Wahbi Khazri (FantasyBet 6m) also continues to impress – a total of 39 crosses, 14 chances created and 11 attempts on goal over six appearances suggests further points are incoming if he can shrug off a knock.

We now turn to a pair of assets from a West Brom attack that has been surprisingly prolific of late. Midfielder Craig Gardner (FantasyBet 5m, Draftkings $4,200) has scored twice and served up an assist over the last three, while forward Salomon Rondon (FantasyBet 6.5m, Draftkings $4,200) has recorded four goals and an assist in five starts for the Baggies. Both could prove good value with opponents Norwich yet to keep a shut-out in 15 away ties.

Diego Costa’s two-match suspension brings Bertrand Traore (FantasyBet 5m, Draftkings $3,300) into our thinking once again. The youngster was on the bench for the weekend defeat to Everton but having scored four goals and picked up an assist over five outings in the league and FA Cup for the Blues, he could be poised to lead the line as West Ham visit Stamford Bridge.

These are the contenders for my weekly contest lineups heading into the midweek fixtures. Tomorrow I’ll also bring you up to date on my progress in FantasyBet, as I continue my quest for profit in the 2015/16 campaign.

Can someone with Chrome just confirm it's me not FPL and try to save/download a page like http://fantasy.premierleague.com/fixtures/ and see if it completes.

It's hanging at "8/63 B"for me even though that should be KB I think. Other browsers on FPL are fine and other sites with Chrome are fine it just stopped working this week.

          Full team atm:

          Butland McCarthy
          Bellerin Azpi Daniels Wolly Simpson
          Ozil Silva Siggy Mahrez Alli
          Kun Kane Vardy

mmm, I must admit I'm in a similar position. I have an FT and will wildcard soon. Happy with attacking front 8, although as I posted below I am pondering Eriksen > Payet as I have Kane and Alli already and they are the real points scorers. Defensively it is tempting to bring in a potential hauler...

Can't you save FT? Play three out Bellerin Azpi Wolly Simpson?

Nowt wrong with a defensive punt whe your front 8 doesn't need touching. Williams has potential to score 9 this week.

I was gonna make exactly that move, but now I'm feeling I may have to do Kompany > Williams instead

      Waiting for WC to consider.
Ivanovich ( if i figure out he is playing RB) or Dawson for me as short term punts.. ( Dawson could be long term tho)

IIvanovic of those 2. West Be on defence not as good lately. Chelsea defence much improved and Ivanovic, no matter where he plays has more goal/assist potential than Dawson.

GW33 Wildcard for a GW34 BB has lost some appeal with only 4 of the GW34 DGW teams playing in GW35.

Trying to choose between Dawson/Ivanovich for next 2 GW's..

In the last few GW's.. Ivanovic average position on the comparison too has been very deep.. playing almost as a Centre Back..
Dawson seems far more of a threat going forward.

Is Ivanovic going to be reverting to RB anytime soon?
He isn't much of a threat on the attack as a CD anyway..

It's all about maximising the points for us 33 WCers

So the fixtures in the next three gameweeks come into focus.

    Teams to consider:

Chelsea have WHU avl swa - anyone drafting in Ivanovic? A defender looks potentially profitable, and Siggy > Traore may be a nice move next GW

People getting rid of Vardy but they have cpl SOT sun....

Newcastle with a new manager have SUN nor sot ... anyone thinking they will tighten up first and foremost and Jannmatt could be worth considering?

I like Bournemouth away at Villa in 33, a punt on King or Ritchie might come good.

West Brom's next two could also be good, NOR sun - in terms of a defender.

    Any other fixtures/punts standing out?

You actually only need to consider the next two gameweeks, GW31 and GW32, because you'll make your WC changes before GW33

Kompany is still showing is "doubtful" on FPL. Granted, he's at 25%, and we're pretty sure he's out, but is there some sign that he may not be out long-term?

Trying to weight up if I can hold him for my GW34 team get my Williams punt elsewhere (Daniels), or if I need to lose Kompany

Varying reports but won't be back for City until at least after the international break.

similar dilemma myself, trying to gauge whether to hold onto him in the hope he is fit for DGW34

if you can ride out this week then its an international break (recovery time)

    Ozil, Mahrez, Payet, Alli, Eriksen

    Vardy, Kun, Kane

was thinking about swapping Vardy so might just bench him instead. Maybe Alli or Eriksen

Which MID do you reckon will score double figures this week?

    A) Siggy
    B) Mahrez
    C) Arnie
    D) Eriksen
    E) Alexis
    F) Ozil
    G) Firmino

Best punt for the coming GW?

    I'm a DGW 36 WCer. I have 2FT and 1M in the bank.

Current team (DGW 34ers in caps)

    butland mccarthy
    BELLERIN toby targett williams fuchs
    OZIL SILVA FIRMINO mahrez alli
    AGUERO vardy kane

Players i definitely want for DGW34: DDG, Sanchez, Martial/Rashford

    What move do i make?
    a) Butland -> DDG
    b) Selling Silva for Alexis is an option. And then go in with 9 DGWers in stead of ten. Silva has good fixtures though. Silva -> Payet is an option too as it looks likely Silva might not play both in the DGW.
    c) McCarthy -> Robles is an option but i don't see Everton cleanies in 34.
    d) Butland -> Hart (Good current fixtures + GW35 fixture) It means a compromise on DDG though.

Anything else? Help would be much appreciated.

I thinking I'll be a DGW 36 WCer as well, because I don't see a good TC pick for GW37. Although it will be difficult to get 9-10 DGW 34ers because I have only 5 including Kompany (injured) and Ward (bad fixtures). In your case I think I prefer DDG, Man Utd will have a good chance of picking up clean sheet in the DGW 34. What do you think of my team?

      Butland, McCarthy
      KOMPANY, Simpson, Williams, Daniels, WARD
      OZIL, PAYET, Eriksen, Mahrez, Ritchie
      AGUERO, Vardy, Kane

2 FTs and 1.3M in bank. Thinking of doing KOMPANY > DAWSON this week.

Hi guys. Like many, I plan to WC in GW33, playing bench boost in 34 (dgw in caps). This is my WC team (from which I will pick 11 for GW 33):

    MIGS / DDG
    CLYNE / BELLERIN / SAGNA / OGBONNA / Simpson
    OZIL / Mahrez / FIRMINHO / Alli / PAYET
    LUKAKU / Vardy / AGUERO

GW 34 Vardy > MARTIAL (bench boost the above)

GW 35 Lukaku > Kane and Martial > CHEAP, giving:

    Migs (DDG)
    Simpson Sagna Bellerin Clyne (Ogbonna)
    Alli Mahrez Ozil Firminho (Payet)
    Aguero Kane (CHEAP)

GW 36….think about that at the time.

I would welcome any thoughts and feel free to pick any holes. This is bang on £0 itb so may need some adjustment for rises etc, but it feels pretty balanced (2 city, 2 arsenal, 3 liverpool, 3 west ham, 2 man u and 1 everton).

I’m sitting around 100k so want to finish strongly (been in top 10k last 2 years). Cheers in advance folks

Are you planning to use 1FT on GW34?

If so, you won't have 2FT to make changes or GW35 as you've suggested
