Untangling themselves from the Cheltenham festivities, Paddy Power furnish us with their odds for shut-outs and goals ahead of another Gameweek deadline.

Before we dip into their latest reckoning, a reminder that those of you without a Paddy account can take up our bookmaker friends on a series of enhanced odds every weekend.

This time around their European Acca dangles odds of 16/1 on wins for Real Madrid (vs Sevilla) PSG (vs Monaco), Dortmund (at FC Augsburg ) and Spurs (vs Bournemouth). If you prefer your acca firmly placed on domestic soil, you can also get a huge 22/1 on wins for Chelsea (vs West Ham), Leicester (at Crystal Palace) and Swansea (vs Aston Villa).

Moving to Sunday and Paddy have both the big derby matches covered. New accounts can get 7/1 on a Newcastle win at St James’ Park in the Tyne-Wear clash with Sunderland, or 5/1 on a Man City victory over United at the Etihad.

Be sure to check the terms and conditions on all those offers and, of course, we should state that all these specials are only available to those aged 18. If you’re going to wager, always gamble responsibly.

Reconciling with our Captain Poll, Harry Kane (1.80) is earmarked by Paddy as the player most likely to notch a Gameweek goal. Spurs’ leading marksman bagged three strikes in his last trio of league starts and was rested in midweek, ensuring that he’s relatively fresh ahead of Bournemouth’s visit to the Lane.

Kane’s status as the red-hot favourite knocks Sergio Aguero off his perch as the Argentine’s odds slip from 1.90 to 2.10 overnight, as Paddy get cold feed on City’s chances in the Manchester derby. Indeed, Wilfried Bony and Kelechi Iheanacho were both priced at 2.29 just 24-hours ago but have slipped to 2.87 as City odds for goals have lengthened.

Romelu Lukaku (2.10) is tied with Aguero as Everton prepare to host an Arsenal outfit that has shipped eight goals in their previous four match-ups. Given that the Belgian destroyer has netted in back-to-back league clashes and recorded a brace in the FA Cup, he could we be the maverick captain choice, with Paddy certainly amongst those backing him to produce.

Intriguingly, Swansea’s Alberto Paloschi and Bafetimbi Gomis (both 2.40) chart in the top seven before a tantalising home tie against Aston Villa, yet Gylfi Sigurdsson (2.87) – the Swans’ top scorer with nine goals and second in our Captain Poll – just fails to make our cut.

In the absence of Diego Costa, one of Bertrand Traore and Loic Remy (both 2.40) will be tasked with fronting Chelsea’s attack when West Ham United roll up at Stamford Bridge. The Blues haven’t blanked at home since Gameweek 15, so the in-form visitors will do well to secure the shut-out.

Further down the table, Olivier Giroud and Odion Ighalo can both be backed at 2.50 in this round of fixtures. The former hasn’t scored since Gameweek 21 but is pitted against the league’s worst home defence in Everton, while Ighalo banished his barren streak with a goal that expelled the Gunners from the FA Cup last weekend.

CLEAN SHEET ODDS – GAMEWEEK 31

TeamOdds
Swansea City2.00
Tottenham2.25
Chelsea2.40
Manchester City2.40
West Brom2.40
Watford2.62
Newcastle2.70
Leicester2.87

Having failed to score in five of their last eight outings with just two goals in their last six away trips, it’s easy to see why Aston Villa’s form has persuaded Paddy to place Swansea City (2.00) as their big favourites for a Gameweek clean sheet.

Spurs are ranked next, although their odds have slipped out overnight from 2.10 to 2.25 as Paddy rethinks their chances of repelling a confident Bournemouth at White Hart Lane.

Chelsea and Man City both come in at 2.40 ahead of their home encounters. The Blues are without a clean sheet in five matches but surrendered just five goals in their last seven fixtures, while Manuel Pellegrini’s men could make it four shut-outs on the bounce in all competitions, but go into Sunday’s clash with United without the influence of Vincent Kompany in their rearguard.

West Bromwich Albion share identical odds with that pairing and look well placed to silence a Norwich City outfit that carded blanks in five of their previous seven match-ups.

As for Watford (2.62), they’re matched up against a Stoke City team that has blanked in two of their last four road ties. Somewhat surprisingly, Newcastle United (2.70) – who have registered a solitary clean sheet since Gameweek 16 – are handed relatively short odds for the Tyne-Wear derby meeting with Sunderland.

    WARNING GUYS

    Please read this.

People have been slagging off Siggys stats for the 'Sensible Captain', Shots in box and Shots on target.

This is because they are based on the last 4 GW, so include a game v Spurs, and sub appearance vs Arsenal. Do the stats over the last 2... and it's much nicer.

Siggy is viable and worth the punt.
