The current international break has afforded us another opportunity to update the Live Hall of Fame standings, taking into consideration the performances so far in the 2015/16 campaign. The Hall of Fame is a ranking system which we apply to everyone who takes part in our Fantasy Premier League (FPL) mini-leagues – both the free and the members league. Basically, this tracks the performances of every manager over each of the seasons they have participated and awards a “HoF rating” accordingly – it’s viewable to all via this link or the top menu “HoF” link.

If you’re wondering what the Hall of Fame is all about, you can read below for a quick guide. Alternatively, you can view this movie to listen to Mark and Rate My Team’s Chris Atkinson talk you through it.

Ville Ronke remains at the top of our Live update after racking up 78 points in Gameweek 31. He’s now moved up to 4,199th spot overall, his highest of the season, and still has his second wildcard and two chips – Bench Boost and Triple Captain – available to play over the run-in. Ville has clinched a top 5,000 in each of his seven seasons playing FPL (including four top 600 finishes) and has a Hall of Fame Rating of 98.2 in our latest refresh. Ville’s safety-first approach is highlighted by the fact that he hasn’t taken a single points hit all season.

David Meechan moves from 23rd in our Career HoF into second spot in the Live update. David has finished inside the top 4,000 in four of the last five seasons and is well on course to continue that record – he currently sits in 966th spot overall, which is his highest of the campaign. David has taken a four-point hit on six occasions this term.

In third position is Marlen Rattiner, who racked up 86 points in Gameweek 31 to earn a seventh successive green arrow. Now up to 3,852nd spot overall, Marlen – who climbs from 15th in our Career HoF – has finished inside the top 200 in reach of the last two seasons and, like Ville and David, he also has a second wildcard, Bench Boost and Triple Captain Chips to play. Unlike Ville, Marlen certainly isn’t averse to taking chances with his transfers, though – he’s already racked up 48 points worth of hits in the opening 31 rounds of fixtures.

Peter Kouwenberg jumps from 60th in our Career HoF into fourth spot in the Live refresh. Peter is the highest-placed manager in our new top ten after climbing into 874th overall, courtesy of a 79-point return in Gameweek 31. Peter has finished inside the top 10,000 in five of his nine seasons as an FPL manager, with last year’s 289th spot his highest yet. He’s taken points hits on three occasions this seasons, with a 12-point deficit back in Gameweek 9.

Jay Egersdorff is a non-mover in fifth position. After clocking up 79 points last time out, he’s moved up to 28,984th overall as he looks to continue a record that’s seen him finish inside the top 5,000 in seven of the last nine seasons.

Utkarsh Dalmia climbs from 25th in the Career HoF into sixth spot in the Live refresh. After racking up 83 points in the previous round of fixtures, he now sits in 8,211th overall – his highest placing of the current campaign. Utkarsh – who has taken a four-point hit on four occasions thus far – now looks on course to claim a a sixth top 5,000 finish in seven seasons.

Sitting in 639th spot in this season’s FPL game, Steve Poulsom is the highest-ranked of our top ten managers in 2015/16. Having earned 85 points in Gameweek 31, he’s well on course for a third straight finish inside the top 4,000, with last term’s 121st spot his most successful so far. Steve is a major climber in our HoF update, moving from 97th in Career to seventh in our Live iteration.

Peter Martino jumps from 81st in Career up to eighth in our Live refresh. In his tenth year as an FPL manager, he looks on course to secure his highest-ever placing – Peter is currently sitting in 914th spot overall, which is superior to his previous best of 1,506 in 2010/11. Impressively, he’s never been outside the top 50,000 in any of his nine campaigns and has clinched a top 6,000 spot on five of those occasions.

In ninth spot is Russell McLeod, who is looking for a fifth successive finish inside the top 6,000. After finishing in 488th overall last season, Russell climbed to 1,275th in Gameweek 31 on the back of an 85-point haul – he’s another significant riser in our update, having finished 2014/15 in 79th place in our Career HoF.

Simon Walsh completes our top ten in light of an 84-point haul last time out. Currently sitting in 35,876th spot overall, Simon is the only faller in our refresh – he placed seventh at the end of last season after earning a third top 1,000 finish in his four years as an FPL manager.

Further down, site moderator Evs sits in 19th spot in our refresh, whilst other familiar names such as Jon Sumner (aka Jinswick) and Nick (aka Triggerlips) both find a place inside the top 30 along with last year’s winner Simon March. Elsewhere within the top 50, Mark and Jonty sit in 40th and 45th place respectively.

Analysing the Top Ten

All of our chief protagonists still have their second wildcard in hand, though it’s perhaps a little more surprising that they have all played their All Out Attack Chips, with each of them still holding Bench Boost and Triple Captain Chips.

Looking at each of our top ten’s 15-man squads, Jack Butland and Alex McCarthy were the preferred stoppers, with eight and four votes respectively.

Bearing in mind that the latter has featured once since Gameweek 6, this backs up the idea that our leading candidates aren’t concerned with rotating their stoppers, though Butland’s season-ending injury will certainly spark a major exodus once wildcards are wielded.

The most popular defender in the FPL game – Toby Alderweireld – is also the highest-owned amongst our top ten and currently sits in seven sides. The Belgian just edges out Virgil van Dijk and Danny Simpson, with six votes apiece, whilst Bournemouth’s Charlie Daniels and Swansea skipper Ashley Williams have been snapped up by five or our featured managers.

Further up the field, though, there’s far less variety. Riyad Mahrez, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Dele Alli are owned by all ten, whilst Mesut Ozil sits in nine of the teams in what has become a solid four-man template. The fifth spot is somewhat less clear, though; Roberto Firmino and David Silva are next in line with three votes apiece, whilst Alexis Sanchez and Dimitri Payet find themselves in two of our teams.

Up front, it’s a unanimous decision by all ten, with Sergio Aguero, Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy all leading the line.

With doubles in Gameweek 33, 34 and 37 , though, it’s fair to say that there will be plenty of changes to our featured managers’ current squads as they look to play their wildcards and two remaining chips over the final seven rounds of fixtures.

At present, though, the current template amongst the top ten in our Live Hall of Fame is as follows:

Keepers – Butland, McCarthy
Defenders – Alderweireld, Van Dijk, Simpson, Daniels, Williams
Midfield – Mahrez, Sigurdsson, Alli, Ozil, (Firmino/Silva)
Forwards – Aguero, Kane, Vardy

How is my rating calculated?
The “HoF Rating” is based on your points scores from previous FPL seasons, with the latest season weighted the heaviest and each corresponding season weighted at roughly 70% that of the previous season. So, in other words, those who performed best in 2014/15 will receive a bigger HoF Rating boost from those who did best in 2007/08. The “HoF Ranking” even allows for those with missing years, adapting the formula accordingly to allow to rank alongside the veterans of the FPL.

How do I join the Hall of Fame
Simply sign up to our leagues next season, either the Fantasy Football Scout Classic League or if you’re a member, the Members Classic League – the code will available on the dashboard of the Members Area once the FPL game re-opens for registration.

How do I find myself in the Hall of Fame?
The search box at the top of the ranking tables allows you to search by surname or by FPL id.

What if I don’t want to be listed?
Either notify us via support@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk or simply leave the Fantasy Football Scout league and you’ll be removed on the next update.

When does the Hall of Fame get updated?
The Career table is available to all and is updated at the end of each season to display the latest rankings. The Live version of the Hall of Fame is updated every week to use the latest season data.

Sturridge is too much of a risk, I highly doubt he plays two games in such a short space of time

        Thanks all
Yes Sturridge is risk but other option was Rashford + Sanchez +Firmino for Bolasie + Yaya but i think i will go with this.
Sanchez can explode and Firmino too thats my only concern.

Thoughts on this GW34 wildcard very much welcome!

    Mignolet (Schwarzer)
    Bellerin Koscielny Smalling (Sakho Morgan)
    Ozil Silva Firmino Payet (Mahrez)
    Kane Martial Deeney

Leaves me with 0.4 in the bank. Could quite possibly upgrade Silva to KdB but can't help but think Silva is far more likely to play 90 in both matches.

I'd try and stretch 0.2 for Darlow so at least you'll have some backup if Migs gets injured or sent off.

Wildcard team. (Although still not pulled the trigger)
    Robles/Cech

    Mangala, Bellerin, Simpson, Rojo, Sakho

    Barkley, Ozil, Payet, Mahrez, King

    Aguero, Vardy, Kane.

    33 - Kane to Lukaku
    34 - Mahrez to Firminho

    Doesn't look great.

Not that anyone will listen, but here's a few observations after looking at the site properly for the first time on a maximised desktop screen (the un-maximised screen problems - which is the MASSIVE problem I have - still persist and will make the site unusable whilst at work during the day unfortunately)

    Firstly the negative...........

    1) The site is just so green, white and grey and I think looks horrible - it needs more colour - why are all the pictures black and white?
    2) S.........l..............o...........w..............
    3) Do the pictures at the top of the articles need to be that big? The silhouette pic at the top of this one for example looks ridiculous
    4) There's a lot of blank space down the right hand side of the screen - doesn't look very nice near the bottom of the page
    5) You still have to "sign in" again when going on the members section - why? The site obviously knows you're a member

    The positive..........

    1) The tweets on each page is a welcome addition
    2) The same with the scrolling latest comments on the profile pages

      Here's my thoughts on those.
      1) Colour = more time to open, B/W helps loading.
      2) Not tuned yet
      3) Article pics will be looked at
      4) Try 90% for less space or 150% for none.
      5) Different server for the members area

Generally people are always loathe to embrace change . Once they are more familiar with the new layout and the teething problems have been resolved the criticisms will be long forgotten. Regardless of individual views a lot of work has obviously gone into this with the sole purpose of improving user experience and this is only to be applauded. Visual appearance is a personal viewpoint and I for one like the new layout.

Change is fine when it's for the better - I'm sure it will be fine if and when the show-stopping problems (i.e. the non-maximised desktop window and speed issue) are sorted, but at the moment the site is not as good as it was 12 hours ago, in my opinion. Everyone is entitled to their opinion 🙂

        • 12 Years
        10 years, 12 days ago

On the colour issue aren't the pictures being converted client-side i.e. not making a difference to loading speeds? I get the full colour pictures on Microsoft edge so the side must be sending them out as colour...

Slowness tonight is making it hard to judge the full picture. Agree on the green.

As someone who's worked on websites for many years it's always tricky for the first day or so to tune it all, so let's all be patient.

It is brave launching it during the season rather than at a quieter time. Any frustration with it for now only highlights how much we value it as a site.

really looking forward to seeing how everyone does over the next few weeks, especially gw34- obviously the ones with all the chips intact have an advantage but no matter how I look at it even wildcarding doesn't necessarily help you like perhaps normally it would.
either you change most of the team knowing some teams don't play the next week, you may have to alternate strikers due to doubles or single juicy fixtures, or you don't need THAT many changes for the double weeks which means you may just be wasting the use of the wildcard.
usually i'd be hoping to jump big time with my wc but i'd be happy to stay where I am looking at the problems in selection.

        big few weeks coming up

Sturridge brought past glories but isn't certain to play every game. Tony M will probably play but isn't certain to deliver , though he's a fraction of the price.

          Last comment on the site, as I'm sure there's been plenty;
The big areas of white, particularly to the right of posted comments below the side bar, seemed alright-ish in daylight, but for night time viewing it's way too glarey and bright.
Signing off. Good work guys - looking forward to slicker pages functionality asap.

OK - appreciate the help, but feel it's a general problem with the look of the site that needs addressing for users. I'm sure there's some tweaking to be done, I'm just gonna be patient, but too frustrating to use tonight.

Sorry Mark and all involved but this new presentation is a step backwards. Font and pictures, which were absolutely fine as they were, have been massively oversized and useful features marginalised as a result. The site was fine as it was on both desktop and mobile before. The new version is worse on both, especially on mobile.

It really wasn't fine at all on mobile and tablet imo. Agree on PC but things are still getting tweaked. I don't know how much % of users are on desktop and how much are on mobile/tablet though. Currently on tablet, myself.

Maybe it depends on the phone, I always found it to work perfectly. Don't use a tablet so can't comment on that.

          @Balders

          If your still about...

          You on double LFC defense?

I keep coming back to Clyne & Sakho.

And now I'm likely also to have Bellerin and do...

GW34 Ward ➡ Kos - given me double Arsenal and Double LFC?!?!?!!

            • 12 Years
            10 years, 12 days ago

Yep, trying to avoid it though 😛

On a toss up now of

            Cech
            Sakho, Clyne
            Sanchez, Ozil, Couti

            or

            Cech
            Sakho
            Sanchez, Couti, Firm
            Welbeck

I'd really try and get 3 Arsenal in from this week.

That's should read Ward > Gabriel

Not great on paper, but fixture for LFC are good. They avoid the blanks and then get another double. Seems obvious really.

Prefer the first one i think

What's your forward line like? Or just who do you have with Agueor and Lukakaaaaa?

                10 years, 12 days ago

                Aguero + Lukaku + Welbeck/Wickham for me.

What's your plan if Ward -> Gabs looks a no go?

I'm also on a potential toss up with Ward -> Kirchoff or Dann -> Azpi in 35 if I get a Palace defender.

you guys not looking at flanagan at all? Not in the Europa squad and with Skrtel back the 3 CBs could rotate. Having said that if Moreno is back he could rotate with Flanagan and Clyne

No room for passengers and there's no way Flanno plays every game.

seeing as he won't be playing europa I'd say there's a decent chance he plays the league games. Can you see Clyne or Sahko playing 4 games in 10 days?

Perhaps provide some constructive criticism as to why you think the site is B.S like you were asked earlier - http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2016/03/30/welcome-to-the-new-fantasy-football-scout/?hc_page=12#hc_comment_13003338

Saying it's "B.S" and that's about it won't win you any favours and people won't be too disappointed if you don't come back.
