It’s time to drop into the Weekly Shop for our final Wednesday article, as we analyse the player lists of our partner games to highlight the likely targets that will make up our own weekly squads.

As always, the player analysis is split into two sections: I’ll break down the key targets that no squad can do without in “Better Buys”, before seeking out those one-shot “Poundstretcher” prospects that can provide us points, whilst freeing up funds.

For this week’s selection, we’re focusing on the FantasyBet and DraftKing player lists.

Crystal Palace travel to Upton Park where West Ham have been resilient of late, keeping five clean sheets in seven home matches. With 15 saves and five bonus points over his last four appearances, Adrian (FantasyBet 5m, DraftKings $4,000) could be worth the extra investment compared to more budget-friendly keeper options. In midfield, Dimitri Payet (FantasyBet 7.5m, DraftKings $8,600) carried his league form into the international friendlies by netting a trademark free-kick against Russia, and the Frenchman’s two goals and four assists in five make him difficult to ignore.

Chelsea will be optimistic of extending their 14-match unbeaten league run when they visit Villa Park on Saturday lunchtime. While the Blues have been porous at Stamford Bridge, they have four clean sheets in six on the road and Branislav Ivanovic (FantasyBet 6.5m, DraftKings $4,100) offers the opportunity of points at both ends of the pitch against a team destined for the Championship.

Arsenal’s 2-0 victory at Goodison Park was a promising result for those considering investment in the Gunners ahead of Watford’s visit. The Hornets travel to the Emirates with a single shut-out in nine away trips and Hector Bellerin (FantasyBet 5.5m, DraftKings $4,200) offers the form route into the hosts’ rearguard with three assists over the last two outings.

In midfield, picking between Mesut Ozil (FantasyBet 9.5m, DraftKings $8,000) and Alexis Sanchez (FantasyBet 11m, DraftKings Forward $7,800) is once again a conundrum. The former has been more consistent in the long-term but the Chilean’s goal and a pair of assists over the last three hints at a return to form. A potentially rewarding and cheaper alternative has emerged further up the field, though, with Danny Welbeck (FantasyBet 7m, DraftKings $5,500) bagging three goals and an assist in five since returning from injury.

Sergio Aguero (FantasyBet 13m, DraftKings $8,800) may have blanked in three of his last four outings but travels to a Bournemouth team that have leaked six goals over their previous three. Despite his recent toils, the Argentine has fired 14 attempts in the box over the last four – joint-top along with Harry Kane. With City still limited by injuries in midfield, he may well be paired with Wilfried Bony (FantasyBet 8m, DraftKings $4,900) once again. While the Ivorian has not been on the pitch as much as Aguero, his 11 attempts in the box compares favourably, earning the forward a high placing in Jonty’s Goals Imminent table.

Poundstretchers

An injury to Joe Hart should see Willy Caballero (FantasyBet 4.5m, DraftKings $2,900) earn a rare stint between the sticks as City travel to Bournemouth. Manuel Pellegrini’s men have allowed their opponents a mere 11 shots inside the box in the last four – less than any other side.

Norwich are looking to chalk up a third straight clean sheet as relegation rivals Newcastle roll up to Carrow Road. Timm Klose’s (FantasyBet 4.5m, DraftKings $2,400) defensive displays have been key to the Canaries improvement, with the centre-half earning five bonus points in the last two Gameweeks. Wes Hoolahan (FantasyBet 4.5m, DraftKings $3,800) has chipped in with two goals and a pair of assists in his last four home appearances and looks a value option amongst Alex Neil’s attack.

After three successive draws, Sunderland will be hoping to give their survival bid a shot in the arm as West Brom visit the Stadium of Light. Patrick van Aanholt’s (FantasyBet 4.5m, DraftKings $3,900) five goals from defence this term is only equalled by Scott Dann, Wahbi Khazri (FantasyBet 6m, DraftKings $5,400) continues to return some promising attacking numbers, while Jermain Defoe (FantasyBet 5m, DraftKings $4,700) has scored in back-to-back outings and also looks a good value option against the Baggies, who have kept a single clean sheet in four matches.

These are the contenders for my weekly contest lineups heading into the midweek fixtures. Tomorrow I’ll also bring you up to date on my progress in FantasyBet, as I continue my quest for profit in the 2015/16 campaign.

If I have already made my transfer for the week and confirmed it, but i wish to change my transfer after confirming, will the previous transfer be valid?
A lot of injuries during the international break.
    Ruined my team.
    Please help.

You've confirmed the transfer so it's confirmed, i.e. locked in.

Either wildcard or spend some points.

When do you WC this lot?

    Butland Hennessey
    Morgan Dawson Wolly Williams VVD
    Payet Silva Mahrez Siggy Alli
    Kun Vardy Kane

2 FT 2.5m in the bank

Have 2 FT, so plan is to take 2 punts this week and WC GW 33.
    Any better alternatives?

I hate responsive design for desktop in general. Everything becomes so needlessly BIG, with huge fonts and so much wasted space.

The old site comfortably fit within an 800px window. (I like to have my browser windowed.) If I do that now I get the mobile (tablet?) version.

      Sincerly,
Old fart that doesn't like change

Just saw the tip bellow to zoom out a bit. Much better. (Migth be something to consider tweaking for the desktop version. There's no need for skyhigh letters when you're already on a big screen.)

        You have serious issues.

But I know your kind. You are probably still running Windows 2000 on your computer, and refusing to by a smart phone, as your Sony Ericsson K750 is still working perfectly, and only has to be charged twice a month.

You refuse to buy a coffee machine, as you think the ideal way to brew coffee is in a kettle over an open fire, and you think houses are modern inventions that can't be trusted, so you prefer the safety of your mountain cave.

Well, I have a news flash for you, my friend: The invention of the wheel was only the beginning. The world is moving forward. You can sit there in your cave and be angry and upset all you want, but guess what? Nobody cares.

The change is happening. The future is here. The future is responsive. Embrace it, or die.

Three things and if you answer them well ill probably copy this 😛 (dont worry im ranked 50,000 so probs wont catch if your higher up):

      1) will darlow defo play?
      2) is Gabby Nailed
      3) do you need ozil to afford squad or could sanchez still play

      1. Koflok
        • 13 Years
        10 years, 13 days ago

I'm hanging around 6 digit this season so don't think you want to copy someone as bad as I am 😉

        1) Yes.
        2) He starts 8 out of the last 9. Can't say nailed but definitely first choice. At 4.3m he's 2m cheaper than Kosc so I'll take that risk. Even if he plays 1 GW on DGW, I'll take it - he represents way better option than other defenders at sub 5m price
        3) 50/50 because Sanchez is not worth at that price point. Although, I have Sanchez plan in hand if he shows form which IMO is the best GW34 captain choice.

Fair enough, not sure if it will work then but ... we have similar teams, the difference being that I have DDG and Ward instead of Darlow and Rojo, but Alli instead of Bolasie. Robles and Ward are my first transfers out for Darlow and a Watford defender. If you're set on Bolasie though, I think that you've got the best set up now. Good luck

Can someone tell me about wild carding and value by any chance? If you draft a player in during a wildcard and they then rise 0.2, what happens if you then sell them later during the week? Do you benefit from the 0.1 or does it go back to the original value? Thanks.

    1. buffrey
      • 13 Years
      10 years, 13 days ago

You get the 0.1. Same as if you own that player. Only a max of 0.3 rise per week means you can only get 0.1m in value from a single player.

    2. FantaCity
      • 13 Years
      10 years, 13 days ago

Yes, you keep any benefit (or loss). In the past, people played this tactic to gain Team Value, but prices are moving much slower now that WC transfers don't count towards increases, so unlikely you will gain much.

You get the 0.1, but double risers are rare enough this year especially in weeks when a lot are on the WC

And what if you trade out a player on whom you've accumulated value? Presumably that value is then lost, even if you bring them back during the wildcard week?

yep you make money if you play your cards right
i have been very profitable previously

Ambiguous response, but the core of the article is that ManUtd is planning a tailor-made pre-season to get him back fit for next season, even though he wants to feature in Euro and would maybe force an appearance.

Is Coutinho on for a rotation risk this week itself after his Intl. game?

Who do you prefer for the DGW between Firmino & Coutinho?
Who'll get the most gametime and who is more of a rotation-risk?

I agree. That's why I'm retaining Simpson on the WC.

My best draft so far is this.

    Can have 3 dgw33 players and with 2FTs 11 players for gw35.

Weak links are Mitrovic and no Kane and no other Arsenal or ManU attacking players than Özil.

    Robles - Darlow
    Belle - Kos - Smalling - Rojo - Sakho
    Özil - Payet - Mahrez - Barkley - Firmino
    Aguero - Lukakaaaa - Mitro

Yes. I could leave Simpson as my 5th def instead of one the Arsenal defs. It wouldn't mess my team structure.

Considering Welbeck instead of Mitro but still unsure if he is worth a risk. Will get benched for sure during gw-33-36 but is it more than once I'm trying to figure out.

    Of the choices on a FT before a 33 wc;
    a/ Courtois (no playing GK)
    b/ Siggy to Ozil
c/ a/ and start Traore over Siggy

    Hennessey ; Alli - Williams - Moreno

Payet is captain material, but "historically" he scores better away. In the same vein; Swansea is a bit iffy away (at least for wins/clean sheets)

    Butland Robles

    Toby VVD Fuchs Williams Smith

    Ozil Siggy Mahrez Arnie Alli

    Aguero Kane Vardy

3.1itb. 2 FT = two punts. WC next week.

How many CPL players will you get in on WC 33? They are a real conundrum, aren't they? 😕

        Hello mate!

Well i am actually debating WC'ing this week. Depends on the pressers actually, because i have two injured keepers for this GW and 1 FT.

If i wc in 33 i believe i will only get Bolasie in all honesty if even him, because he will take a spot from Firmino / Couti and that i cant allow. So, i think it will be one. MAYBE , just MAYBE Delaney. MAYBE.

        How about you?

        1. Jafalad
          • 16 Years
          10 years, 13 days ago

I'm really overwhelmed with it all tbh. CPL have no form yet they have 4 games in two gwks so you feel really tempted to gamble on their players.

I checked Bolasie's points today and saw that Ward was cheap enough.

The problem is if you get two of them in and you have UTD, EVR players, you will be left short in 35.

          Might just get Bolasie.

Thats the problem. They take valuable spots and i will need transfers to ship them out which MIGHT be a complete waste. Thats the main issue i have to be fair.

I might decide to WC this GW so i can TC on Lukaku in gw 33. I really think thats a great option..

EVR might but not too confident about NEW even though they have conceded 0 Big Chances under Rafa.

    Bellerin / Francis / VVD / Simpson / Targett

    Ozil / Eriksen / Mahrez / Payet / Lingard

    Kane / Vardy / AGuero
