It’s time to drop into the Weekly Shop for our final Wednesday article, as we analyse the player lists of our partner games to highlight the likely targets that will make up our own weekly squads.

As always, the player analysis is split into two sections: I’ll break down the key targets that no squad can do without in “Better Buys”, before seeking out those one-shot “Poundstretcher” prospects that can provide us points, whilst freeing up funds.

For this week’s selection, we’re focusing on the FantasyBet and DraftKing player lists.

Crystal Palace travel to Upton Park where West Ham have been resilient of late, keeping five clean sheets in seven home matches. With 15 saves and five bonus points over his last four appearances, Adrian (FantasyBet 5m, DraftKings $4,000) could be worth the extra investment compared to more budget-friendly keeper options. In midfield, Dimitri Payet (FantasyBet 7.5m, DraftKings $8,600) carried his league form into the international friendlies by netting a trademark free-kick against Russia, and the Frenchman’s two goals and four assists in five make him difficult to ignore.

Chelsea will be optimistic of extending their 14-match unbeaten league run when they visit Villa Park on Saturday lunchtime. While the Blues have been porous at Stamford Bridge, they have four clean sheets in six on the road and Branislav Ivanovic (FantasyBet 6.5m, DraftKings $4,100) offers the opportunity of points at both ends of the pitch against a team destined for the Championship.

Arsenal’s 2-0 victory at Goodison Park was a promising result for those considering investment in the Gunners ahead of Watford’s visit. The Hornets travel to the Emirates with a single shut-out in nine away trips and Hector Bellerin (FantasyBet 5.5m, DraftKings $4,200) offers the form route into the hosts’ rearguard with three assists over the last two outings.

In midfield, picking between Mesut Ozil (FantasyBet 9.5m, DraftKings $8,000) and Alexis Sanchez (FantasyBet 11m, DraftKings Forward $7,800) is once again a conundrum. The former has been more consistent in the long-term but the Chilean’s goal and a pair of assists over the last three hints at a return to form. A potentially rewarding and cheaper alternative has emerged further up the field, though, with Danny Welbeck (FantasyBet 7m, DraftKings $5,500) bagging three goals and an assist in five since returning from injury.

Sergio Aguero (FantasyBet 13m, DraftKings $8,800) may have blanked in three of his last four outings but travels to a Bournemouth team that have leaked six goals over their previous three. Despite his recent toils, the Argentine has fired 14 attempts in the box over the last four – joint-top along with Harry Kane. With City still limited by injuries in midfield, he may well be paired with Wilfried Bony (FantasyBet 8m, DraftKings $4,900) once again. While the Ivorian has not been on the pitch as much as Aguero, his 11 attempts in the box compares favourably, earning the forward a high placing in Jonty’s Goals Imminent table.

Poundstretchers

An injury to Joe Hart should see Willy Caballero (FantasyBet 4.5m, DraftKings $2,900) earn a rare stint between the sticks as City travel to Bournemouth. Manuel Pellegrini’s men have allowed their opponents a mere 11 shots inside the box in the last four – less than any other side.

Norwich are looking to chalk up a third straight clean sheet as relegation rivals Newcastle roll up to Carrow Road. Timm Klose’s (FantasyBet 4.5m, DraftKings $2,400) defensive displays have been key to the Canaries improvement, with the centre-half earning five bonus points in the last two Gameweeks. Wes Hoolahan (FantasyBet 4.5m, DraftKings $3,800) has chipped in with two goals and a pair of assists in his last four home appearances and looks a value option amongst Alex Neil’s attack.

After three successive draws, Sunderland will be hoping to give their survival bid a shot in the arm as West Brom visit the Stadium of Light. Patrick van Aanholt’s (FantasyBet 4.5m, DraftKings $3,900) five goals from defence this term is only equalled by Scott Dann, Wahbi Khazri (FantasyBet 6m, DraftKings $5,400) continues to return some promising attacking numbers, while Jermain Defoe (FantasyBet 5m, DraftKings $4,700) has scored in back-to-back outings and also looks a good value option against the Baggies, who have kept a single clean sheet in four matches.

These are the contenders for my weekly contest lineups heading into the midweek fixtures. Tomorrow I’ll also bring you up to date on my progress in FantasyBet, as I continue my quest for profit in the 2015/16 campaign.

I realise you are getting a lot of feedback and it's probably getting a bit tiresome
I spend most the time on my phone so this change is aimed at me.
The articles are definitely easier to read now and I'm ok with the season ticker and a lot of other info being stored separately.
The issue really is the comments. This box is ludicrously big surrounded by employ green space and I can only see 3 comments at a time which makes it hard to scroll through Ayews posts to find someone talking sense 😉
Also the recent comments whilstbeing in an article was a key way of keeping up if someone had responded or said something worth reading. Now it's all refresh and endless scrolling to see where comments have been made.
Again apologies Torres and any other mods / testers I'm not intending to moan, just providing feedback on the new experience

The change is aimed at google so the site stays high in the search rankings so more people visit and click on the affiliate banner and the site makes more money.

It'll get better. It takes a launch to find out what truly works and doesn't. Testing only reveals so much, be patient.

For sure there are other factors at play and I trust in Mark and the team to listen to feedback from their users and do what they think is right

Voice of customers is a key input to any successful business and FFS appears a successful business from the outside.

          - Optimized width removes need for zooming and panning
          - Hot-switch between articles, user comments, tweets, and scout picks
          - built in expanding menu including search
          - condensing of page length by showing/hiding replies

Just needs timestamps and a floating ticker really.

(ALSO PLEASE AUTO NOTIFY OF REPLIES 😀 😀 😀 )

              - Worth it alone.
              - There is more to the website than the articles.
              - Doubly worth it with this too.
              - It's cleaner now.

Look the fact is, simply, that before this update FFS did not have a mobile site. It had a site you accessed from mobile. By definition it is now optimized for mobile.

    Current Team-
Will need to WC soon so either this GW or next..
Please advise which you think is better- Hold or pull the trigger.

    Schmeichel*
    Toby*, Dawson, Williams
    Payet, Eriksen, Siggy, Mahrez
    Kane, Aguero, Vardy

    Butland**, Fonte, Francis, Stan**
    1ft- 5.3m

    Turning into something like this-
    Courtois, Robles (Solid rotation)
    Bellerin, Simpson, Smalling, Dann, Sakho
    Firmino, Lanzini, Sanchez, Payet, Mahrez
    Welbeck, Aguero, Lukaku

I am tempted to just make the break for it.
Not happy with current squad atm..

Looking at this team mate, you should wc now post the news conferences for firminio information, otherwise the tam is much stronger setting you up well for the doubles and better for this game week too. Only thing I would change if you have the dosh is bolasie for lanzini. Of course by wc this week you are also exposed to Spurs smashing pool and Kane and alli points

Maximizing DGW players. TV is low. Originally had Migs but had to settle for Sakho due to lack of 4m defenders.
You think Woodman could be first choice?

Like the midfield a lot you can downgrade dann to Delaney and get migs in

Woodman is a possibility to start I think yes..
Recently recalled on loan I think.

Anyone else on a wildcard and looking for a sub 5m defender to fill a gap? Check out PVA. Plays WBA home this week, norwich away in gw34, plays in 35, tough one but still a game (Arsenal home) followed up by a double in 37. Worth a look, he's in for me.

He is someone I would def consider if I wasn't trying to put out 15 DGW players in 34. If I was BBing 37 he would be in for sure

        1. Jay_
            10 years, 10 days ago

I've desperately tried all week to get the full 15, but it just kept leaving me short in 35. I've been adamant all week that I'm only having 15 doublers, but with the fixture in 35 and double in 37, plus WBA home this week, it's just about made it acceptable for me to go with 14 plus PVA

                  Robles Elliot
                  Smalling Otamendi Bellerin Sakho PVA
                  Sanchez Ozil Firmino Payet Lanzini
                  Aguero Lukaku Martial

(Smalling Martial > Simpson Sturridge in 35)

Just saying if PVA was Janmaat you would have your 15th DGW player and he doesn't have a blank in 35.

                    Isn't Elliott out?

I feel I have the opportunity so I have to go all out. You may never get the chanc to do it again. Who says they won't take the chips away next season!

Balls out! That is the way forward

I like your style, I can go Clyne over PVA but that gives me 0.0 to play with for my planned Bolasie > Firmino transfer in 34. If Firmino rises between 33 and 34 I'm in trouble. PVA over Clyne would give me .5 grace

Thought about that but that would give me double Newcastle defence (Elliot is Darlow above)

I think Double Newcastle with the extra fixture is better than one of each. Janmaat can easily become PVA for his DGW if you like later
