      To summarise

      Lukaku was busy but isolated
Delefeo looked promising (but game time?)
Jags threatening at set pieces - almost scored twice
Barkley playing deep and not particularly well
      The rest were forgettable.

What would your ideal GW33 WC forward line be?

As it stands, mine would be:

    Lukaku, Aguero, Martial.

An honourable mention, and likely GW35 transfer, goes to Kane.

Axolotyl I see what you mean, I can zoom in yeah but it's from the starting point of a mobile view site. I'm talking about a proper desktop view site so you can zoom in to wherever without scrolling for ages. I can't stand mobile view sites so doubt this one will ever win me over. Effortless browsing on the other one, this is just a pain in the arse

That was the whole point of this update - to make it a proper mobile site on mobiles. Otherwise they lose ranking points on Google = less advertising revenue.

Also, the scrolling issue only really affects people who use the comments a lot, which is a very small proportion of users.

Again, I know, and I know mark couldn't care less if the odd long term user leaves. It is about hit counts. All I'm saying is the site just got a hell of a lot worse from my perspective. Will probably go to Tommy's site next year.

Earlier today Mark added me to "the project" that has been used behind the scenes to put the new site in place.

Given the amount of extras he's added to the to-do list which takes into account everyone's feedback via email/hot-topic I can tell you that he absolutely cares what you guys think.

I'm confused what this, "too much scrolling" complaint is about. I've heard i a few times.

You always had to scroll down the thread. Is it the fact things are a little bigger?

I always used desktop user agent when viewing on phone. Could see the whole site, and just double tap where you want to read to zoom in. Could see loads of comments in one screenshot. More real estate is way better than having it all perma zoomed IMO.

          A few things...

If you hit the comment count at the top of the article you automatically zoom below article to top comment.
If you then hit post comment, you zoom to the bottom of the thread to the post comment box.

In this way, you can navigate to the top or bottom of a thread without scrolling.

Also, today we put together our tasklist and on it were a number of improvements to the mobile version - including a proposed slide in menu so that all the sidebar elements are viewable at all times rather than via the four buttons on the homepage.

Also, we are going to look to provide a full desktop option on mobile for those who really want it. Pretty sure we can do this.

More on all that once work is underway.

Cheers mark. Great news that about the desktop option. It's a deal breaker for me personally. I've stopped using other sites that became forced mobile. I think most people with mid to high end phones would prefer the desktop option.

Which phone do you have out of interest?

I've a HTC One which is getting on a bit now but still decent enough. I prefer new site as I don't have to zoom all the time and posting is easier. but would definitely like an option to see comments/hot topics on all pages

OPPO r7 plus. Top shelf hardware. HTC one I would imagine is still high end enough for what I'm saying. Can see how people like Balders would really benefit.
All opinions eh. Mines the only one that matters though 😛

Mmm...well I think it comes down to your habits on the site.

A lot of users who use desktop versions on mobile do so because they've got used to the restrictions and work arounds and use a site in a certain way.

I think the mobile version, once the slide in is added, will do a very good job for all but, if we can provide a full desktop as an option, then I guess we've covered the bases. I'm not certain it's possible yet - will know more in the week.

I could but where would the view change when you select one of the buttons?

The slide in from the right will actually house the recent comments, ticker etc. So you can be reading a comment and slide recent comments, click a link and hide them again.

Yep would do in that case for sure. Thing is what are considered high end phones now will very soon be low end phones, and when you have the hardware there's no need for these mobile sites. Yet Google is pushing the Internet that way.

Can zoom in and out, but its the perma zoom mobile view starting point I hate. Zoomed out can only view a couple paragraphs of text at a time. Proper desktop view can see and navigate probably 30 times that real estate, or more.

(Not sure if they will rise tonight given amount of people getting them who are on WC, but why risk not getting them now)

KDB and its not even close.

Bolasie for all of his trickery lacks the end product or a clinical striker to get end of his deliveries

Sanchez TC in gw34 is looking like he will devour the Lukaku gw33 TC'ers. Am also concerned that Lukaku might get rested vs Palace.

I hope you have all had decent GWs...

I have not decided yet whether to ditch Kane and Mahrez but how about something like this if I do?

    RobLow

    Kos Smalling Gabriel Sakho Simpson

    Lanzini Coutinho Sanchez KDB Payet

    Martial Aguero Lukaku

Option to bring back Kane in GW35 by downgrading Smalling and upgrading Martial.

    All feedback welcome.

I would;t get Smalling at all. He is too expensive for his not so good performances

Smalling is just until GW35. I will then downgrade and spread the funds, possibility to bring Kane back.

Great, because it looks almost exactly like mine. 🙂 Bellerin instead of Kos and Fuchs instead of Simpson. Then between Lanzini and Lennon for me.

Still debating about Kane and Mahrez too. I see your rank is crazy good, I'm 2.5k and nervous about those two.

Yep, rank means I am really nervous about WC. I think the above plan allows me to go for it, but also gives me the flexibility to go back again. 😆

very similar to my draft but I'm going without Smalling and still not sure about Martial. Prefer Rooney but very risky now

Smalling is expensive but, given he is not there for the long term, I think he is worth it given the amazing DGW.

I know he has amazing fixtures. I wrote a post a few minutes ago with question if he's worth 6.5 for 10-12 points max cause he has no bonus and always with yellow card.
          Is he worth it?

Looks very good. Not keen on keeping United players for their other dgw? And would you downgrade smalling to another Liverpool def and double up?

        • 15 Years

I am fairly relaxed about moving on my United players, their second DGW is not nearly as good as the 1st.

The player I bring in for Smalling depends on what I do with Martial. If I want Kane, then I can only spend 4.8.

Not many any firm decisions for GW35, but Smalling gives me the flexibility as I can raise significant funds from him. Alternatively, I could upgrade him to Ivan...

      Great team IMO.

Thoughts on Iwobi over Lanzini (would involve Arsenal defender -> someone eg Mangala)

I and been planning to start with Barkley instead of Coutinho and then do the change in GW34. However, not convinced it is worth the hassle and virtual hit it will cost.

I'm going to avoid Barkley. If I decide I want a punt I prefer Bolasie, but I'm not convinced .

          my last draft looks like:
          DDG- Darlow
          Bellerin- Gabriel-Jagielka- Clyne-Simpson
          Sanchez-KDB -Payet- Coutinho - Lanzini
          Aguero - Lukaku - Martial

in 35 2 ft to change Martial and Jags for Kane and cheapie defender like Kirchhoff or I take a hit get rid of DDG and get a better defender

Is it really worth having a Man Utd defender or GK?
Only Smalling and DDG are nailed on. Smalling always seems to finish a game with YC and bad BAPS, so even if he gets CS he will have 5 or 6 points max. Against CPL he may not even get a CS cause Palace play better away from home.

De Gea is a bit better but he rarely gets saves points and bonus points. Against AVL and CPL he will have probably max 3 saves altogether, so probably 12 points max. Then they have blank in 35.

In fact Schmeichel can get the same for 1 million less.
    What do you think?

I know what you mean. I probably end up with DDG or risk with Darmian, but I hate that option in fact.

    B. Delaney, Ozil, Martial

Evening all, I'd appreciate your feedback to this one please (GW32 WC)

    Robles, Darlow,
    Gabriel, Simpson, Delaney, Bellerín, Mangala
De Bruyne, Sánchez, Barcley, Payet, Lingard
    Rashford, Lukaku, Agüero

    GW 33: Barcley to Coutinho

GW 34: 2 transfers to make up 12 players

    Not comfortable with Barcley tbh..

What a week it's going to be. Few questions:

    Is Lennon still an option?

Assume Delaney is nailed? That extra 1.4 for Dann could prove tricky if I want Sanchez
