It’s time for our Sky Sports Focus article now this Thursday afternoon. As always, we bring you the recent run of Man of the Match (MoTM) awards, bonus point beneficiaries, the transfer trends and our Watchlist before taking a look at the Scout team and our future plans.

Gameweek 35 Man of the Match Awards

Listed below are the players that caught the eye of the Sky Sports reporters from last weekend’s fixtures achieving the Man of the Match award (worth an additional five points).

FixtureMoTM
Aston Villa vs ChelseaPedro
Arsenal vs WatfordAlex Iwobi
Bournemouth vs Man CityKevin de Bruyne
Norwich vs NewcastleTimm Klose
Stoke vs SwanseaMarko Arnautovic
Sunderland vs West BromBen Foster
West Ham vs Crystal PalaceYannick Bolasie
Liverpool vs TottenhamPhilippe Coutinho
Leicester vs SouthamptonWes Morgan
Man United vs EvertonAnthony Martial

One goalkeeper a couple of defenders, six midfielders and one forward chalked up the awards this week. Kevin de Bruyne came back from injury with a bang and is still in 7.4% of teams as we head into some decent fixtures for the City midfielder – expect that to rise considerably. Alexi Iwobi (4m) has now picked up back-to-back MoTM awards and looks an enticing option in the weeks to come if he can keep his starting role. Philippe Coutinho has been in great form of late and looks another candidate to jump in ownership (8.1%), taken Liverpool’s remaining schedule into consideration.

Gameweek 35 Bonus Points

Three goalkeepers picked up bonus last week. Heurelho Gomes, Hugo Lloris and Ben Foster were the men in question, as the latter racked up an impressive 14 points. Leading the way for keepers are Petr Cech and Jack Butland, with 16 bonus points.

In defence, 13 players grabbed bonus; eight for tackles and five for completed passes. John Stones was the closest to earning both, missing out by just one completed tackle. Simon Francis currently leads the way for defenders with 24 bonus points.

In midfield, there were 12 beneficiaries in total: five for tackling and seven for passes. Tottenham’s Mousa Dembele was again the closest to picking up both after missing out on extra bonus by one tackle. Cesc Fabregas is dominating the bonus tables with 56 points overall from passing and tackling.

Fantasy Football Scout members can access all information regarding bonus points using player stats and clicking the Sky Sports tab.

The Transfer Trends

Injuries to Jack Butland and Joe Hart persuaded many owners to part company, though the latter is now fit and available after returning against PSG last night. Similarly, those who sold Roberto Firmino may live to regret it after he returned to training ahead of this evening’s encounter with Dortmund. Odion Ighalo’s lack of form and Raheem Sterling’s stint on the sidelines have seen plenty look elsewhere.

Top Transfers In

NameTeamValue% of Managers

PayetWest Ham6.25.26%
LukakuEverton8.84.53%
LlorisTottenham5.44.42%
De BruyneMan City7.84.03%

The above-mentioned goalkeeper exodus has earned both Kasper Schmeichel and Hugo Lloris plenty of new owners, though neither has a double Gameweek on their remaining schedule. Dimitri Payet and the fit-again Kevin de Bruyne’s kind price tags are too good to overlook, whilst Lukaku’s new owners will have one eye on the upcoming doubles.

The average amount of transfers remaining amongst the top 10 Sky managers currently is 4.7, whilst the top 100 average is 3.44, the top 1,000 is 4.45 and the top 5,000 is 4.69.

Watchlist

Here I aim to highlight a few differential players with low ownership that I think could be good options in the coming weeks to help you climb the rankings. These will be looked at in three specific price brackets to cater for our available budget. These names evolve with fixtures and form and offer Fantasy managers a nudge in hopefully the right direction.

Notes
An average week for my team with Harry Kane’s 14 as captain on Saturday my main source of points. Craig Dawson, Dimitri Payet and Sergio Aguero also chipped in with seven apiece but I was let down by Sunday’s fixtures with Romelu Lukaku (as skipper) and then Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy all failing to register.

Not having a Leicester defender over the second half of the season has really hurt me as they continue to churn out clean sheets at such a cheap price but I feel I’ve missed the boat now and have limited transfers left ahead of multiple double Gameweeks. As for moves this week, I’ll probably swap out Cesc Fabregas for Philippe Coutinho on Sunday, given his extra fixtures and form, although I’m fearful Fabregas may hurt me as he also has been playing well of late.

Captain Plan
Sergio Aguero is my captain for Saturday and probably looks the best option on this matchday assuming Man City are not too tired following their midweek action.

I’m forgoing a captain for Sunday’s round of matches in order to hand the armband to Romelu Lukaku on Wednesday evening when Everton travel to Selhurst Park. This sets me up nicely for the bumper Gameweek 37.

I really need young Rashford to stay nailed. Not asking for much right? Rooney comes back into the hole and Martial wide instead of Lingard?

Mark on the Scoutcast was suggesting he thinks Sakho will lose his place before long - is this the populist/itk view? Who is the Liverpool defender de jour?

I can but that makes my future plans dependent upon not suffering a price swing of more than 0.1 the wrong way on any of my planned transfers. Not sure that's a big factor though - there's bound to be another problem that spoils those plans!

Berbinho's Forehead is saying he is first choice and started when he is fit but he is injury prone. The fans definitely love Sakho and do not rate Skrtel very highly . I do not remember Klopp ever saying Sakho or anyone is first choice .

Mind helping me out? Poll :

    A) Martial + Bolasie + £0.6

I'd be tempted to hold Aguero, and do Martial back to Lukaku if Lukaku is on form, or hold Martial if Lukaku hasn't done much.

You certainly should have ManU defensive coverage for gw34.

      Dowgrade Jags and get DDG?

I'm not very interested in City's defense until Kompany is back and 100% fit.

'pool's defense is not a necessity, but their fixtures are so good (and no blanks), i'd try to cover them.

Would try to change Gabriel to Evans so you have the option to downshift KDB to Ozil after week 35 (or have other options to get Ozil if there's an injury).

Not sure about double Everton defense based on their performance, might go with Sakho or Lovren instead of Jags... or use one of your FTs for that.

Front 8 looks expensive and exciting

Coutinho already rose once this week so you should be safe with .1 room to work with is my guess... but may have to make early transfer to get him.

Delaney may be worth it. Question is can you migrate from Delaney to a Sunderland defender for 35 (or by 37 DHGW)

Lennon not worth it in my opinion

    So...

A Liverpool defender. Pretty much everyone has got one of Sakho or Mignolet, but are they really essential?

They concede a lot of goals and their back line doesn't fill me with confidence. Would I be a fool for taking Simpson over Sakho? This lets gives me just enough to do Lingard -> Lennon too.

Liverpool have great fixtures. 2 DGW's, no blanks.

      Mignolet or Clyne seems prudent.

Sakho or Lovren if you are willing to assume some rotation risk.

Perhaps Moreno is the one, provided he gets a yellow card tonight and becomes ineligible for the return Dortmund fixture next week. Even though, he's got Flanagan, ineligible for Europa, looking over his shoulder.

    Sanchez, KDB, Coutinho, Lennon, Payet
    Martial, Sturridge, Lukaku

Hope this will be good. KDB seems to be in good form so hopefully he can take some points from Aguero. Sturridge has really good fixtures all the way to the end of season, could really be a good differential!

Don't like the Lennon and don't feel Mangala is nailed but nice overall look and flair.

    Robles DDG
    Bellerin Gabriel Simpson Evans Delaney
    Sanchez KDB Payet Coutinho Lanzini
    Aguero Lukaku Martial

With 2 FT can get 10 playing gw35, any clear weaknesses?

    RMWCT?

    Robles Darlow
    Delaney Gabriel Bellerin Rojo Sakho
    Sanchez Payet Coutinho Mahrez Lennon
    Kun Lukaku Martial

GW35, Lukaku and Martial out for Kane + Another who plays ( maybe Defoe )

Doubts over Gabriel, rojo game time and to some extent Sakho. Also I think Lennon won't play all games now that Delafeou is back.

    Last decision to make:

A - Martial, De Gea, Moreno (+ hit likely in GW35)
B - Pelle, Mignolet, Rojo (+ no hit likely in 35)
C - Martial, Mignolet, Rojo (+ hit likely in 35)

I'm probably leaning to B, but worrying about not tripling up on United.

      I like the team.

      Wickham is a major risk.

I'm curious, with no recent gamtime under his belt, how many of the 4 games would you expect him to start (assuming he does not get hurt again, which is not out of the question . . . he is prone to it)

I know he is prone but even if he has 2 games out of 4 i still believe he will score big - not worried about fixtures as when you are fighting for relegation you do beat the top teams - i fancy him to do well for next 2 GWs

          fair enough.

he has shown this year that he can be a handful when fit.

          good luck with it.

Any chance Howard steals game time off Robles?
Feeling much safer with DDG in goals but it's much more appealing to swap Smalling for an Azpi or Ivan after the double, rather then DDG to say Curtouis

It's possible he will play the last game of the season. If there are league positions at stake I'm not convinced we'll such such sentiment though; price money increases incrementally per place and we aren't talking pennies.

There's testimonials for this kind of recognition.

    WC Team attempt #57

    DDG/Robles
    Sakho/Simpson/Gabriel/Steven Taylor/Bellerin
    Coutinho/Sanchez/KDB/Payet/Lanzini
    Aguero/Martial/Lukaku

    0.0m ITB

    Thoughts?

Don't like Newcastle DEF but it allows me to get a decent amount of coverage elsewhere

Maybe take out Payet/Saylor and upgrade DEF? Not sure who I would replace Payet with though
