No more no less. Three is the magic number.

In a week where we ponder shifting to a “power three” in our line-ups, the ScoutCast is reduced to its own Tri-force, as Jonty and Andy join me as part of a skeleton crew for this latest episode.

Don’t worry, somehow we still manage to string things out for 80 minutes. After all, there is much to discuss, not least the current emphasis on the big strikers and the demise of Bobby Firmino – the driving force behind my apparently ill-time Wildcard.

Talking of which, with Jonty’s own Wildcard booked in for the international break, he eagerly assesses the forthcoming “fixture swing” that promotes investment in Man City and Chelsea, among others.

Elsewhere your community questions guide us to examine the latest optimum formation and to check in with “piggy bank” Marcos Alonso’s after his cruel 58th-minute withdrawal in the Potteries.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Eriksen + Firmino > Sane + Morata next week here we come.
    To facilitate that:
    Jones >
    A)Ward,
    B)Mee
    C) another 4.5

    Cheers

I'm a bit stuck for what to do!!! Current team

    Foster (WAT)
Davies (hud), Naughton (whu), Daniels (LEI)
Eriksen (hud), Mkhitaryan (CPA), Silva (che), Carrol (whu)
Kane (hud), Lukaku (CPA), Firmino (new)

Elliot (LIV), Hegazi (WAT), RLC (mun), Mee (eve)

    2FTs, 0.1 IT

    Firmino to Vardy?
    Something else?

    1. Make United Great Again

I’d say Firmino to Vardy. Although you’ve missed Firmino’s price drop of 0.1.

I'd be trying to get in morata next week for firmino if I was you. Hegazi out for 4.5?

      1. Make United Great Again

That won’t give him enough funds

But you have 2 transfers the following week to do it. See my q above

    3. Lazaretti
      9 years, 23 days ago

Vardy has not trained until yesterday due hip or thigh injury and assume that he is not 100% fit though he might still play.

Maybe to downgrade Hegazi or Daniels to playing 4.5 or Mbemba to free some funds...

    4. EMERGING STAR

I would actually keep firmino as the return of Mane has increased his prospects.

Liked you team except RLC pick. Swap to Surman / Stephens /Artfield ?

With the Mendy and (rumoured) Kun injuries should we rethink city's attacking potential? Surely they cannot have goalfests like before? At the minimum the team will have to adapt to playing with Jesus/Sane/Sterling front line. Which will take time. So what is the need to double up on city attackers?

    1. @persecuted_by_mods
      9 years, 23 days ago

      The fixtures

    2. Business Dog
      9 years, 23 days ago

Jesus Sane Sterling are all priced very favourably in the most attacking side in the league and will now be less prone (not immune) to Pep rotation. Opportunity for points and price rises = good business.

    3. Make United Great Again
      9 years, 23 days ago

      They still have enough quality.

Having Silva & Jesus for example would still be good for the upcoming fixtures.

  16. Corrine M
    9 years, 23 days ago

Hunemeier to Mee for a hit? With Jones inj, it seems like an opportunity to get rid of a dead player for a greater chance of points than playing Suttner? 1.2 ITB

    BDavies Jones* Maguire
    Eriksen Mhik Ritchie carroll
    Kane Kun(c) Firmino
    (Suttner Hunemeier* Mooy)

    Given the Aguero news...

Is the best thing to do to stick to my original transfer plan and assess City over the break? After all they have Chelsea this week.

    Orignal plan...
    0 ITB
    2 FT

    Foster - Elliott
    Bertrand - Trippier - Jones - Alonso - Mbemba
    Eriksen - Ramsey - Silva - RLC - Carroll
    Kane - Morata - Firmino
    Planned transfer...

  27. Make United Great Again

At least Kane’s ownership won’t rocket due to Aguero’s injury.

Most going with Laca Morata Jesus i’d imagine?

    1. noquarternt
      9 years, 23 days ago

      Morata
      Jesus
      Lacazette

      In that order I'd imagine.

        1. noquarternt
          9 years, 23 days ago

I did Mendy to Monreal earlier which I'm happy with but also have Agüero.

Think it's an easy switch to Morata really. Kane Morata Lukaku looks to be optimal to me now. -4 but have to act of course!
