Russia now winless in seven ahead of World Cup opener

There were disappointing performances for Russia and Serbia in the latest round of World Cup warm-up games.

Meanwhile, Morocco recorded another victory as they prepare to participate in a tough Group B draw.

We’ve got all the goals and assists you need to know about here.

RUSSIA 1-1 TURKEY

World Cup hosts Russia were restricted to another disappointing result in their final warm-up match on Tuesday night, and go into June 14’s opener against Saudi Arabia without a win in seven.

There was encouragement from a Fantasy perspective, though, as key target Alexandr Samedov scored Russia’s only goal of the game. The Spartak Moscow midfielder has now contributed to 11 goals in the 18 matches since Euro 2016, more than any compatriot. Four of those he has scored himself, the other seven were assisted by him.

Alan Dzagoev made just his third start for the national team since August, having suffered a series of hamstring problems this season. The 27-year-old made a claim for holding onto the berth by providing the assist for Samedov’s goal but was replaced by Aleksei Miranchuk on the hour-mark.

Yunus Malli’s 59th minute equaliser means that it is now 10 matches without a clean sheet for Russia, further discouraging Fantasy managers from investing in their defence during the World Cup.

Turkey, who have not qualified for this summer’s finals, dominated the match registering more possession (57%) and shots on goal (nine) than their hosts.

RUSSIA XI (3-4-2-1): Akinfeev; Ignashevich, Kutepov, Smolnikov (Fernandes 77’); Zhirkov, Gazinskiy (Kudryashov 76’), Zobnin (Kuzyaev 94’), Samedov (Anton Miranchuk 87’); Golovin, Dzagoev (Aleksei Miranchuk 60’), Smolov.

SERBIA 0-1 CHILE

Serbia were defeated by a youthful Chile outfit on Monday night, although several key players were rested for their first World Cup warm-up game.

Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic and Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic came on at half-time while Southampton’s Dusan Tadic was used as a 65th minute substitute.

The Serbians were close to registering a 0-0 draw but centre-back Guillermo Maripan headed home a winner in the 88th minute.

Aleksandar Mitrovic played the majority of the game up front and was denied a penalty following an Erick Pulgar challenge.

Elsewhere there were starts for Liverpool’s Marko Grujic, Crystal Palace midfielder Luka Milivojevic and Roma full-back Aleksandar Kolarov.

SERBIA XI (4-2-3-1): Stojkovic; Kolarov (Rodic 80’), Tosic, Milenkovic, Rukavina; Milivojevic (Matic 46’), Grujic; Radonjic (Kostic 64), Ljajic (Milinkovic-Savic 46’), Zivkovic (Tadic 65’), Mitrovic (Jovic 84’).

MOROCCO 2-1 SLOVAKIA

Morocco recorded their seventh win from a possible nine on Monday night as Slovakia were dispatched 2-1 in Geneva.

Our Fantasy key target Hakim Ziyech delivered again, providing an assist for substitute Ayoub El Kaabi’s 64th minute goal.

Younes Belhanda scored the winner in the 74th minute.

Slovakia’s Jan Gregus was just the third player to score against Morocco this season, but the Atlas Lions are still on a run of seven clean sheets in ten matches.

MOROCCO XI (4-2-3-1): Bounou; Mendyl (Harit 46’), Saiss (da Costa 46’), Benatia, Hakimi; Boussoufa (Fajr 76’), El Ahmadi (Ait Bennasser 83’); Ziyech (Carcela 75’), Belhanda, N Amrabat, Boutaib (El Kaabi 60’).

Fantasy Football Scout Daily Hot Topic

Are you happy with your team’s transfer window so far?

Although it’s still early, Liverpool have signed Fabinho and have sold Emre Can to Juventus, while Manchester United have signed Fred. Arsenal, Everton, and West Ham have new managers and Arsenal yesterday made a depth signing with Stephan Lichtsteiner joining their ranks. Meanwhile Spurs have seemingly fended off interest from Real Madrid by having Mauricio Pochettino sign a new contract. At Newcastle, Martin Dúbravka has committed to a permanent deal.

At the other end, teams like Chelsea are struggling to get started. Roman Abramovich has visa trouble, their new stadium has been put on hold, and there has been speculation over Hazard, Courtois, and Willian.

Which teams have had a good start and which have work to do, ahead of what will be a busy summer with the World Cup and an early Premier League start date?

Are you happy with what your club has accomplished?

Don't really know why we (City) need Mahrez, but I won't complain. Jorginho will be a top signing. Can't see too many more incomings, maybe another CF. Even if we signed nobody though it'd be a good window!

Happy with the first 2 signings (Fred & Dalot). Fred will be an assured starter but he’s not of much appeal in fantasy terms. Dalot maybe next season but he might come into play this if Valencia gets injured.

Definitely need to sign a CB & LB for our first 11 and I that’s what United will go after now.
Maybe a RW too if the budget allows & Martial is leaving.

Pleased Newcastle have secured Dubravka but assuming this transfer window will be as depressing as all the others under Ashley.

Already looks like our player of the year and captain will be sold to a mid table side because he has value. No doubt we'll get linked with plenty of mediocre players and make a couple of laughable bids. Business as usual.

Keeping my expectations for Arsenal low this season, Emery seems like a good fit but all depends whether his players buy into what he wants to do or not.

Still need a CB who can organise a defence, strongly suspect we won't get one.

          hold onto McNulty & Bayliss.
2 key players (Andreu & Jones) basically missed all last season with injury.
Add a couple of players for squad depth and the fact L1 suits our style more and we could be challenging top 6.
Still a big step up for our young kids - lot of academy players in squad.

As a Chelsea fan, I'd suggest it's early days to be saying the club is in turmoil one season removed from a title win. If we can either get Morata firing or buy one of Icardi or Lewa as is rumoured, that will help us hugely, as would buying a new top level creative mid to replace Fabregas. Our defense is solid and just needs good coaching, but our main priority has to be sorting out this manager crisis. I don't think Conte should go but the board clearly do and should just sort out the problem asap, whether it's bringing in Sarri, Blanc or Jokanovic. We can't make any significant moves until we have a new manager really.

I don't think it's crisis time yet but it's a worry. Are you convinced Abramovitch wants to invest? Are you worried about losing players if the manager situation isn't sorted soon?

As a Spurs fan, no. Nothing has happened yet.

I still expect Alderweireld and Dembele to leave. Hopefully de Ligt will come in for Alderweireld, but no idea who'll replace Dembele. A new CM is definitely a must! Vorm is likely to leave as well, so we might sign another backup GK.

Seems like we're in the market for another winger/forward as well. Martial has been mentioned, but can't see it. Pulisic, Bailley and Malcom other names mentioned.

With dembele looking to be leaving, i really think it's necessary to get that kind of calibre player if we seriously want to be in contention for the title. Will send a strong signal of intent too. Not as strong a statement signing as Bale would be... But much more of a missing piece for us

Play around creating your own tables or check out tables created by others and made available to members ... if you search on youtube will likely find videos from Mark on how to do this or snag one of the mods to request some links...I couldn't find the one for this.

      Popular sections:

Comparison tool: Compare different players over the season or a specific number of matches home or away. Can also compare the same player but home and away etc

Fixture difficulty ticker: There is a free one on here but the members one is better, more matches and can tweak and customise .. again Mark on youtube has advice on making the most of this.

It's a bit strange. You can tell from the number of revisions everyone does to their FPL squad how much pondering it takes to get a team they are happy with, this really reduces pondering time.

But on the other hand, we all react to friendly results and they are still going on so ultimately it probably makes little difference to the side you will end up with.

The main thing it does harm to is the game itself. There will be reduced numbers because of it.
