Buoyed by some impressive scores from the opening day, the Scoutcast crew are in optimistic mood as they tackle the key issues facing Fantasy managers ahead of Gameweek 2.

I’m joined by Andy, Az and new Scoutcast face Neale (aka Skonto Rigga) to separate the wheat from the chaff in the Fantasy Premier League’s transfer market.

We ponder whether reports of the demise of forwards have been greatly exaggerated and list the under-performing players from Gameweek 1 who may well punish their sellers.

Our rough with the smooth round-up features a tale of two benches.

While later in the show I come under attack from my colleagues, and even a moth, as we search for this season’s budget midfield gem.

We end by revealing our Captain choices when Neale unleashes one of the most surprising armband selections the Scoutcast has ever seen. It caps an impressive debut to remember for both him and the moth.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday evening. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark has got a decent squad of players. I reckon he should bench Mendy this time, Hudds are due a goal.

It blows my mind that people are considering a non-KDB transfer right now. It's not as if the template didn't hold up. There was a Jota > Maddison question on the previous article and it makes me want to go read a book or something less likely to make me shoot myself.

With KDB injured (and probably dropping in price) I need to make my decision on who to bring in

    A) KDB --> B Silva/Mahrez
    B) KDB --> Hazard, King to Wilson to free up 0.5m (can be done next week)
    C) KDB --> Sterling, King to Jiminez
    D) Other

    Any help is appreciated 🙂

Unai Emery admits to having once picked his starting 11 by rolling dice: https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/unai-emery-arsenal-profile-wenger-almeria-sevilla-valencia-long-read-watch-video-who-is-a8489691.html

"So Unai Emery, the young coach who had guided Los Rojiblancos to the promised land in his first season in charge, plucked a dice from his pocket. This, he told his wide-eyed charges, was how he was going to pick the team. Not because he hadn't spent months planning and tweaking every last detail in preparation for the campaign – the devil, for Emery, has always resided in the details – but because his trust in every single one of them was unshakeable. So he rolled."

"I wanted to show them that I didn't care who was going to play," he later revealed in an interview with French magazine So Foot. "It didn't really matter which players were on the pitch, because we were going to win anyway. I was that confident."

Just did jota to Bilva for a hit.. Maybe i'm insane but it's all just for fun.

Bilvas fixs couldn't be better and he is as nailed as can be now that kdb is out.

Wolves doesn't have easiest fixs and jota couldn't create anything against 10man everton.

He also didn't start against Man Utd at home but he came on as a sub. This was near the end of the season where he had been suffering with a knee injury so that might explain why he didn't start that game.

However, the season before, he was rotated 6 times in the league - 4 times at home, 2 times away.

I think pep was still unsettled and Aguero wasn't dropping a lot as he wanted to if I can remember it right

Kind of kicking myself I took Bilva out before the GW1 deadline.

Only real way to get him in if he impresses this week and assuming he doesnt rise which is imminent:

    Davies > 4.5 (to 6.1/6.0/4.5/4.5/4.0)
    Jota > Bilva

Yeah rolling with Mendy/Kun at the moment but to squeeze in Sterling would be difficult with out hits.

Unless I double up in City defence which might be easier just lesser attacking return than a midfielder

He's 2.8% owned at the moment, now is the time, he could well be a major rank boost for 3 of those 6 weeks as a lot will either have 3 City already or have money tied up in other areas.

Need to free up 0.5.. which option is better.

    a) Janmaat > 4.5 defender
    b) Josh King > Danny Ings

If you can wait a week, Josh King to Iheanacho could be decent, see if Vardy & Iheanacho start together first.

Leics fixtures look nice then if he gets the starts.
Lots of good 4.5 defender options too though.

Amarty got the hook just after 60 mins against United and new signing Ghezzal could come in at some point. But Pereira looked really strong.

Leicester fan, he won't play there most of the time. The current theory is that him and Amartey will line up on the right flank in games that we need to be defensively more organised, which is basically the ones one would usually bench him for. Even as a fullback he is very attacking however

    I’ll set the scene....

GW 2 Hazard gets double digits against Arsenal and Salah blanks against Palace. Arnie gets 6 points against Bournemouth and Firmino scores and gets full BPS.

For GW 3 would you do

Salah & Arnie for Hazard and Firmino FT’s

      Bandwagon baby.

I'm on No-Salah camp...but think he will blank once again or been outscored for Firmino is to wishful thinking.
My team works better without Salah, but i know the risks.
Regarding Arnie, i almost had him from GW1 (went King) and right now Zaha looks way better.

Answering your question. Do you have courage to cross Salah's bridge?

Hazard has a tendency to get double digit hauls and then do nothing for a month.

This season could come down to differential.
Hazard maybe only 40 points behind Salah come end of the season. How well you used the 2.5 million difference could prove massive

Referee Kevin Friend in charge of Brighton vs Man Utd so Utd fans will be happy. They have 14 wins from 17 Utd games he has taken charge of, including 3 wins last season. Brighton lost all 4 games in which he referred last season.

Apart from Austin (who is in my team), I am watching these lads:

      1. Ings
      2. Iheanacho: Not now, but keep a watch on him. This could be his breakout season
      3. Sturridge: if he starts playing regularly
      4. Andone: if he can replace Murray
      5. Jimenez

can see him playing CM if he plays with David Silva in the middle. his time on the wings may be limited with the Mahrez signing.

That makes it a similar scenario to KDB and Dilva starting together last season. Don't see how that dents his FPL appeal?

it doesn't imo, but I can see him doing some defensive work, more so now KDB is out.

Like every other City player, he'll be expected to press when out of position. You don't expect a little Silva to go around throwing in challenges and tackles protecting the back 3/4. Dinho does that work for City.
