There are some slight concerns about Harry Kane‘s (£11.1m) positioning in this afternoon’s match between Spurs and Newcastle.

The centre-forward naturally keeps his place in the side but shares the team-sheet with both Lucas Moura (£7.5m) and Son Heung-min (£9.5m).

Crucially, Christian Eriksen (£8.9m) finds himself on the bench once again, which could require Kane to drop deep to provide creativity for Moura and Son.

Spurs did not look in particularly good shape for the first hour of their Gameweek 1 hosting of Aston Villa, when Eriksen was on the bench.

It was only after he took to the field that Mauricio Pochettino’s men really got into their attacking stride.

It will, therefore, be of great interest to Fantasy managers how Kane, Moura and Son line-up against Newcastle.

Elsewhere in the Spurs side, Kyle Walker-Peters (£5.0m) continues his spell at right-back while Jan Vertonghen (£5.3m) makes it onto the bench but is still waiting for his first Premier League minutes of the season.

Opponents Newcastle line-up as expected, in a 5-3-2 formation, which continues to feature FPL midfielder Miguel Almirón (£6.0m) as a centre-forward.

Meanwhile, Wolves host Burnley in the other 4:30pm kick-off, with the benching of Leander Dendoncker (£4.5m) the biggest news.

After starting both league matches for Wolves so far this season, he has been replaced in the starting line-up by Morgan Gibbs-White (£5.0m).

That marks the only change from the side that drew with Manchester United, Matt Doherty (£6.0m) back at right wing-back after missing out against Torino midweek.

Hoping to crash another party away from home is Ashley Barnes (£6.6m) who came into Gameweek 3 behind only Teemu Pukki (£6.9m) and Raheem Sterling (£12.2m) for shots in the box.

Spurs XI: Lloris; Rose, D Sánchez, Alderweireld, Walker-Peters; Sissoko, Winks; Moura, Son, Lamela; Kane.

Newcastle XI: Dubravka; Ritchie, Dummett, Lascelles, Schär, Krafth; Saint-Maximin, S Longstaff, Hayden; Almirón, Joelinton.

Wolves XI: Patrício; Boly, Coady, Bennett; Jonny, Neves, Gibbs-White, Moutinho, Doherty; D Jota, Jiménez.

Burnley XI: Pope; Pieters, Mee, Tarkowski, Lowton; McNeil, Westwood, Cork, Gudmundsson; Barnes, Wood.

    Play one of;
    1 Cantwell at wham
2 Barnes home to pool or

Newcastle were excellent today. They cut off the supply to Kane brilliantly. He'll have far more opportunities against Luiz next week

Consider at least Aubameyang, Haller, Pukki, Barnes and potentially switching to a 3-4-3 with Dendoncker/Cantwell/McGinn as the rotating 4th/5th mid.

Well at least we know why statistically VAR doesn't increase the amount of penalties. They just don't give them, however obvious.

The way it being implemented in the EPL is embarrassing. What muppets came up with this interpretation of using it? Poor decisions are being checked and then upheld. Wtf is the point of it?

Its not just Kane. Three decisions in the Chelsea game. DSilva today against Bournemouth. There was one on Laporte (from memory) in round one. Its the way its being implemented. VAR wont overturn any poor decisions unless its a clear dive and the ref has given a penalty. Only in England its being used this way and poor decisions are being upheld. Comedy hour. Why not let the ref have a look at it on the monitor like everywhere else in the world??

    3. RN
      • 10 Years
      7 years, 14 days ago

For example the penalty in the burnley wolves game.

The ref gives the penalty which is a questionable decision. VAR checks and upholds it.

If the ref didnt give it, which would have been a perfectly acceptable decision, VAR would check it and uphold the decision.

Comedy hour. Some Benny Hill music should be played every time a decision is being checked by VAR

I benched him after he played 29mins in his previous game and had no returns in his past two. On the day I had better options. It sucks in retrospect, and looks kinda obvious, but my decision making was perfectly sound.

You often get a few anomalous results at the start of the season. Watford still looking poor, and Newcastle only beat Spurs.
