We’re halfway through the first international break of the season and things are starting to get ugly.

There’s only so much tinkering we can do. Players will get injured. Prices might drop.

Whisper it, but it’s around about now that real-life threatens to fill the Fantasy void.

Help, however, is at hand from FanTeam‘s €100,000 Champions League Event – the world’s largest Champions League Fantasy tournament.

This season’s competition kicks off on Tuesday, September 17, and FanTeam are offering a guaranteed €100,000 prize pot regardless of the number of entries.

The winner will take home an eye-watering €20,000, pay-outs extend all the way through the top 600 and there will be weekly prizes to sweeten the deal as well.

The beauty of FanTeam‘s event is its similarity to Fantasy Premier League.

There’s the same £100m transfer budget, the familiar 15-man squad and the standard three-player maximum from each team.

And the scoring system, with a few slight tweaks, is virtually identical.

So it’s incredibly easy to pick up and play.

But FanTeam‘s competition does have a few modifications to stir the interest of even the most jaded of FPL managers.

Each Gameweek deadline is just ten seconds before kick-off, so there’s plenty of time to finalise your side long after the teamsheets are announced.

The curse of being £0.1m short of making the perfect transfer could be lifted with the news that a player’s selling price remains the same as their buying one – regardless of in-game rises or falls in value.

And talking of transfers, you get two free ones every Gameweek and they can roll over to a maximum of four if you’ve got the nerve and the patience.

FanTeam‘s €100,000 Champions League Event will run for the six rounds of the tournament’s group stages, with €500 going to each Gameweek’s best manager and a massive €1,000 up for grabs for the highest Gameweek score of the competition.

All that for an entry fee of just €25, with a maximum of 20 teams allowed per user.

To sign up, click here.

While you’re there, you can also check out the finer details of the contest, including the complete scoring breakdown and the full prize fund on offer.

Anyone know why England vs Kosovo is at St Mary's and not Wembley (or another London / PL stadium)

Is that genuinely the reason? Interesting they didn't choose a more northern stadium then.

Fair enough. Good to hear they're doing that, hope they don't sell the same level of corporate tickets as they do at Wembley though!

I think so. They usually have the games in different cities when both are home games. No idea how they decide on which stadiums though

I follow England home & away and being based in the South East it’s fairly easy for me to get to Wembley. However the FA have recognised that a vast majority of fans travel from the North & there are plans in place to ‘tour’ more regularly to make the English team more accessible to all. Leicester, Leeds & Old Trafford used more recently for example. Newcastle is touted as the next likely venue which will be a decent trip.
Southampton was a strange pick but there was a risk Kosovo wouldn’t sell out at Wembley so I think that also factors in to the FA’s choice of venue too.

Looks pretty good to me if it's France by 3 or more . France will want to score as many as possible as goal difference could matter in that group.
There have been 14 goals in the last 2 Serbia games and 5 in the last 2 Portugal games.

This. I reluctantly ditched VVD for Lundstram this week, but I
        1) Have TAA as well
        2) Now have 1.7 ITB to spend anywhere next week, while I'm fine playing Lundstram this GW
        3) Needed to fund Sigurdsson to KDB!

So if you think the upgrade elsewhere is significant, do it. However if it's just for money ITB, I'd keep VVD for now

        1. Pumpkinhead
          7 years, 1 month ago

Fair play. I can't see A keeping many cleanies (Fixtures) and B won't either Villa play a lose game (Villa fan here). I know it sounds outrageous but I might double down or punt on an Arsenal defender (great fixtures for the next 10-12 gw)

Exactly the same as mine except I have Pukki, Wickham, KDB, Dendoncker, VVD, KWP, Diop and Ederson instead of Auba, Haller, Cantwell, Guendozi, TAA, Otamendi, Lundstram and Pope

Not exactly the same then 😉

Would you WC with the following team just in order to bring: Pope, TAA, Cantwell & Lundstram and probably gain 0.5 in TV?

    Ryan, (Button)
    VVD, Walker, Digne, AWB (Rico)
Salah, Sterling, De Bryune, Mount (Dendo)
    Pukki, Barnes, (Greenwood)

    1. FOO FIGHTER
      7 years, 1 month ago

You have a pretty decent team.

    2. Pumpkinhead
      7 years, 1 month ago

No - I think the team is good for another couple of weeks.

You'd be using your WC to bring in 2 bench player not worth it imo + prices rises won't jump that much this week given the WC being played.

Scared of not having Aguero 😛

You can always switch Kun to Sterling later on if need be. Kun is having a nice rest. Norwich defence awaits...

Can't have them all. Hard to fit two 12 players in your squad and still have balance.

A - but Sterling KDB better combo for me. Aguero will share minutes with Jesus.

Plenty goals in that front 3. PLENTY.

Not to keen on midfield but you have Salah and KDB there. TAA at back...

I would go Pope instead of Ryan though. Your choice in the end.

      I say GTG.

Pope would mean double Burnley at the back, so I'd stick with Ryan and Button.

Missed that. Only thing is that Pope has good fixtures. Ryan not.

    Sterling's stats against Bulgaria.

    Minutes played 71'
    Goals 1
    Assists 1
    Shots on target 1
    Dribble attempts (succ.) 7 (5)
    Touches 52
    Accurate passes 31 (86%)
    Key passes 1
    Big chance created 1
    Ground duels (won) 9 (5)

Impressive. Any chance he is rested vs Kosovo?

None. England streets ahead in that group, and sterling the best player.

Will play 60 to do the damage.

    4. FPL Daniel

he was awful compared to his standards. that is how I see it. He should be rested against Kosovo imo

  28. Gudjohnsen

So the most important choice of gw5 is Salah or Sterling for the captaincy?

    1. George Sillett
      7 years, 1 month ago

Nope . Salah , Sterling Aguero , Kane or Aubameyang.

      1. Gudjohnsen

        Don't have a premium forward.

    2. George Sillett

Sorry didn't realise that it was a question unique to you . Sterling for me although he could well be rested.

        Sterling won't be rested imo

Guys who do you prefer? Barnes or James? Who is the better prospect? Also, there is a slight price difference as well.

    please advise.

I know one is a forward, one is a mid. Using AWB cash anyway to have to switch positions.

Barnes every day of the week.
