Double Gameweek 28 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) has a very good chance of being one match bigger – and, if it happens, will mean that Chelsea have two appealing fixtures within it.

The Premier League announced at Sunday lunchtime that the Gameweek 30 fixture between Norwich City and Chelsea will move to Thursday 10 March if either club progresses in the FA Cup fifth round this week.

Both clubs will ‘double’ in Gameweek 28 if that happens, with Chelsea away at Burnley and Norwich.

The Canaries will host Brentford before welcoming Thomas Tuchel’s side to Carrow Road.

The reason why there is a strong possibility of this happening is that, while Norwich face a daunting trip to Anfield in the FA Cup in midweek, Chelsea meet second-tier Luton Town.

Should Chelsea and/or Norwich make the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, of course, it means that the two sides will blank in Gameweek 30.

We’ve set up a Hot Topic here to gauge your reaction, and are running polls on Gameweek 28 captaincy and chip strategy on the sidebar of the home page.

With their fixtures, Rüdiger or Alonso looks essential now

What would you do with 1 FT, 0.6 ITB?
    Foster // Sánchez
Trent Cancelo Aït-Nouri Livramento // Reguilón
Salah Son Foden Raphinha // Bowen
    King Broja // Weghorst

    (A) Reguilón, Bowen → Alonso, Saka (–4)
    (B) Reguilón, Bowen, Weghorst → Alonso, ESR, Jiménez (–8)
    (C) Reguilón, Bowen, Weghorst → Rüdiger, Martinelli, Jiménez (–8)
    (D) something else?

Alonso hasn't been starting. Chelsea have been playing with 4 at the back so no wing backs. James is back training so that could change but Alonso would be a big risk

          Maybe. Maybe not.

In the last five games in all comps he has started against Lille and against Al Hilal. Came off the bench in the other three.

Wolves now have Podence, Jimenez, Trincao, Neto and Hwang for three positions up front. Ait Nouri and Kilman were never nailed. Two defeats in a row had to cause a shake up. Jimenez probably returns, but for others, who knows how they are going to line up in the double.

Chelsea have been playing with 4 at the back and Alonso hasn't been starting.

      I'm thinking this on FH:

      Mendy
      Coady-Saiss-Rudiger-Digne
      Raphinha-Coutinho-JWP-Salah-Ziyech
      Kane

      Ziyech could become Willock

Chelsea DGW28 could change everything and push me towards this wild plan to BB in GW28:

    Pope + Sanchez + Cancelo + Bowen + King + Weghorst > Forster + Sa + Cash + Mount + Lukaku (-20)

    Giving me this for GW28

    SA
    DIGNE, CASH, SAISS, COADY,
    JWP, MOUNT, RAMSEY
    DENNIS, BROJA, LUKAKU

    FORSTER | Son, Saka, Tierney

I'll then FH in GW29, and then this in GW30 (with Laca on a FT)

    Sa
    Digne Cash, Saiss, Coady, Tierney
    JWP, Ramsey, Saka
    Broja, Laca

Then 6m+ ITB to get Kane and/or Salah in GW31, and WC in 32-34, FH in GW36 and 34 or 38!

Yeah, each hit gets me at least one more guaranteed fixture. Extra GK is unnecessary, but if I'm going to BB anyway, then may as well enjoy the extra fixture

          • 10 Years

The flaw in my eyes is that Burnley might have a fixture in GW30. Part of the rationale for buying them was that this possibility could pay off. This plan wastes that potential value.

-20 is way too excessive. And the players u r bringing in are far from guaranteed to get big returns.

      1. Deulofail
        • 10 Years
        4 years, 1 month ago

You don't need to get big returns to beat 3 points to break even from 1 or 2 extra games. E.g. Forster will play 2 games more than Sanchez up to GW30, given my FH in 29, so it already breaks even from appearance points alone. Same for Cash over Cancelo. Mount plays 1 more than Bowen, with better fixtures up to and after GW30. Etc . Assuming FH29 is set, which it is for me, it makes sense to evaluate the hits individually.

I am probably going Dalot and one of Zaha/Bowen to Willock and James for a hit. I thought about Podence, but I am very scared now about going for him or Hwang. I think it's Jimenez or bust, and Jimenez is not at all inspiring.

I was originally planning Dennis and Laporte out for Jimenez and a Newcastle defender.

If this DGW28 does come off, wondering if DDG > Dubravka and Laporte > Chelsea defender makes a lot more sense?

Is it worth -4 to be able to play one of JWP/Cout/Mount over either Cancelo (MUN) or Livramento (avl, NEW)

No. Cancelo high chance of clean sheet vs manu. Livramento a great option too
