The penultimate World Cup 2022 last-16 clash takes place at the Education City Stadium on Tuesday, as surprise package Morocco meet Spain.

Only an own goal has breached Morocco’s defence so far, while La Roja endured a mixed group stage, thrashing Costa Rica 7-0 but losing to Japan in Matchday 3.

Kick-off is at 15:00 GMT.

Luis Enrique rotated his line-up last time out but has unsurprisingly chosen to recall the likes of Jordi Alba and Aymeric Laporte against Morocco.

Dani Olmo, who missed training after the defeat to Japan, is fit to start and joins Ferran Torres and Marco Asensio in attack. That means Alvaro Morata drops to the bench, despite scoring in each of Spain’s three group-stage games.

Elsewhere, Marco Llorente starts at right-back in place of Cesar Azpilicueta.

As for Morocco, they make one change, bringing in midfielder Selim Amallah to replace Abdelhamid Sabiri.

They have been saying for ages that there is no other solution than a penalty shootout to establish the winner.

I think there is a better option. If its still a draw after extra time they could use a point system like boxing based on the game stats - completed passes, possession, shots on target, amount of attacks etc.

This would prevent the inferior team playing defensive and trying to hold out for pens and also prevent the scenario of the inferior team going through on pens.

      I remember that using golden goal resulted in fear of attacking and less risk taking and less goals. There was a reason why that experiment ended. However, this isn't question of opinion, only stats matter.

  this is such a lame idea to me.
  
  it's a game - luck plays a role. there is no "correct" way to play or not.
  
  the team that wins is the team that wins. that's how sports work. it's not a math competition.
  
  penalties are how it's done and at least that's still a part of the sport in question.
  unlimited extra time (with unlimited subs) would be fun too - like in ice hockey.
