By losing at home to Blackburn Rovers in Tuesday night’s FA Cup fifth-round clash, Leicester City avoid the Blank Gameweek 28 that six teams will have.

Suddenly their upcoming fixture run looks superb, as the defeat also ensures they play in Gameweek 32 during semi-final weekend.

The Foxes sit 14th in the league table with mixed form and a surprising closeness to the relegation zone. Should they use this schedule to concentrate and pull themselves away from danger, it could be a great time for Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers to invest in their assets.

With Wildcard season well and truly, so let’s assess the best Leicester options.

JAMES MADDISON (£8.1m)

    A) Ødegaard/PinnockWhite

    B) Martinelli/Mee/White

    C) Martinelli/Pinnock/Zinchenko

It's quite impressive how much content creators influence the FPL community. Yet to see a draft with Zaha or even a JWP. Not saying they're amazing picks, but complete disregard and lack of discussion is surprising.

Zaha has City and Arsenal, JWP has Spurs and Man U. I can see why they're disregarded...

I must have selective memory but Zaha/JWP usually do well in these kind of games.

I don't think this is remotely true.

I purposely mulled over my team without browsing the forums / watching content. I've ended with 2 players which haven't been mentioned much so I think it's fairly easy for everyone to end up down the same track.

I'm not on twitter & haven't seen a single FPL pod since the start of the season & still I agree with the WC template. Quite fancy Iheanacho over Watkins but otherwise I can't really fault it

Zaha has trolled me so badly over the years I wouldn't pick him again even if he was playing the bottom three at home ad infinitum.

Saw a draft on here yesterday with JWP but yes FPL isn't the same anymore, top 1m have pretty much the same team for the whole season.

It's a game of fine margins and trying to maximise outcomes, that's why most of our teams look the same, that's why it's pretty dull a lot of the time to be honest! Content creators can only do so much. A lot of it is common sense.

It’s similar to how you don’t see chilwell and Felix.

I was tempted to go with JWP, issue Is that you’ll be benching someone with good fixtures for his DGW

He can play until he gets banned. Unless he gets two more yellow cards, in which case he also gets banned.

I'm tempted to go without Haaland on my WC.

NEW, cpl, blank, LIV when I won't captain him vs Watkins (CPL, whu, BOU, double) is making me question whether holding is worth it.

That makes sense. I just don't know enough about this game to figure out if just owning Haaland for the sake of it, is enough 😆

It isn't unfortunately. He's kind of killed the game this year with how brilliant he is - I do hope we see some changes in the captaincy rule next season.

You could also do James to Estupinan and upgrade Botman to Schär. Gives you one extra Brighton-player for the DGW27, but will of course require a transfer in GW28 to make it 11 starters, fx Haaland to Watkins

  7. Count of Monte Hristo
    • 13 Years

The strategy where you can have 15 DGW players and Bench Boost in 29.

What do you make of this for GW30 onwards? Will the team be lacking too many players you will want for the rest of the season?

    1. Davido989
      • 15 Years
      3 years, 2 months ago

For me DGW is about quality not quantity. Having 15 DGW sounds fun but if the majority is appearance points it isn't worth it. I think Saka (LEE) for example, will outscore most DGW mids bar Bruno, Rashford and maybe Maddison.

      1. Count of Monte Hristo

    Morning all.

    Kepa
    James White Tarkowski
    Salah Saka Rashford Mitoma
    Haaland Kane Nketiah
    Ward // Andreas Trippier Bueno

No need to WC this week. Might do next week however.

    1) Start Tarkowski (NFO, A)
    2) Start Trippier (MCI, A)?

    A) Nketiah > Toney (FT)
    B) Nketiah/Salah > Odegaard/Toney (-4)
    C) Nketiah/Salah > Maddison/Toney (-4)

I'm concerned Odegaard, or another Arsneal midfielder for that matter, is going to bollock me again. Arsenal game could be high-scoring!

    3. WVA
      • 9 Years
      3 years, 2 months ago

I did it, they will score very similar over the next few game weeks and I don't think you will captain Kane? Watkins is 4m cheaper and there is a lot you can do with those funds.

      1. Strchld
        • 9 Years
        3 years, 2 months ago

Problem is that I dont know how to use those funds. Really like my team and have money ITB to get Bruno and Shaw GW29.

Maybe could do Brighton midfielder to Maddison GW28 if I pick Watkins over Kane. Otherwise could get Barnes in if I want.

        1. WVA
          • 9 Years
          3 years, 2 months ago

Yeah its not like we're desperate for funds but I don't think you should use them just for the sake of it when a cheaper player could well outscore a more expensive one and you never know when you might need them. How are you affording Bruno Haaland Kane? I'm going with Bruno Saka Maddison Rashford March Haaland Toney Watkins.

Please help me out with the XXX's on my WC:

I'm basically stuck with this dilemma:
    A) Schär + MacAllister
    B Estupinan + Maddison

    WC
    Sanchez - Kepa
    Zinchenko/Gabriel - James - Trippier - Henry/Mee - XXX
    Ødegaard - Saka - March/Mitoma - Rashford - XXX
    Kane - Haaland + Toney

    Plan is pretty template:
    GW26: 5 x doublers
    GW27: roll FT
    GW28: Haaland to Watkins = 11 starters
    GW29: Zinchenko/Gabriel and Ødegaard to Shaw + Bruno = 13 doublers + BB

    Kepa Sanchez
    James Trippier Zinchenko Mee Henry
    Saka Odegaard Rashford March Mitoma

    re: Mason Greenwood

A month into #mufc’s internal inquiry on Mason Greenwood, all options, including reintegration, remain live.
#mufc have held meetings with Greenwood
Arnold and Joel Glazer to have ultimate call when findings completed
    (taking in Ten Hag view)

IF #mufc go for reintegration, likely be encouraged to undergo a form of counselling and to explain himself publicly (this may include a TV interview). But club sources insist premature to say leaning one way or another & no active talks with broadcasters.

As a United fan I feel we should cut him loose. I recognise he hasn't been convicted of anything and understand the "duty of care" argument that some at the club have apparently put forward, but if he is going to continue his career then I would prefer it to be elsewhere. As Zimo says I can't imagine all his colleagues welcoming him back with open arms.

Well I’m certainly not looking to sell Haaland. Ludicrous imo

          This.
Can't believe people are ditching Haaland for Watkins, likewise with Kane. Happy to watch everyone else tear their teams apart with dgw fever. Also bb imo is the worst chip, it rarely pays off with big points, even in a dgw. I will be ignoring the noise and sticking to my own plan.

Maddison, Mitoma, Watkins. Currently benching Watkins. Wrong call?

      Would bench Mitoma instead

    Toney about to rise.
That's a risky purchase right now, isn't it? Surely give it one more week.

Currently on Watkins on WC. The betting/FA thing puts me off.

Agreed. Not so much concerned about the betting ban but those 8 yellow cards look really ominous. I'm probably going to wait until next week to decide on Toney. Ihneacho and Watkins are decent alternatives if he picks up another yellow this week.
