When fit I actually think Zinc might be my pref. I’m struggling to see Ars keep clean sheets so current draft actually has just Saka/Mart with a space for Jesus to return

Don’t see any reason why you would? Saliba is more injury-prone, has worse goal threat, and more competition in Timber.

          He’s mainly a right-sided centre-half.

You'll notice tactically Timber is a second Zinchenko type, who can play RB and LB.

Both Gabriel and Saliba are however nailed. Four slots for defenders, 1 goes to the inverted fullback, and the central positions are for them.

He can play fullback, but primarily in his career he’s played RCB. He’s a new signing and better player than Kiwior, so has more chance of displacing Saliba (even if that chance is slim).

              All I’m saying.

seeing as we are talking Salah, I have 2 teams. one with , one without.
    which do you prefer??

    A:
    Onana
    Saliba Estupinan Gabriel
    Salah Saka Bruno Foden Mitoma/6.5
    Haaland Wissa
    Bench - fodder

    or
    B:
    Onana
    Stones Estupinan Gabriel
    Rashford Martinelli Saka Bruno Foden
    Haaland Gakpo/Darwin

A lot of folks are saying the squads without Salah look so much more balanced and strong. Personally speaking I don’t see it that way. Many I’ve seen have not an insignificant amount of money on the bench each week. It’s as if they don’t know what to do with all the cash.

If going for a Liverpool forward I would just go with one, and I think both Gakpo and Darwin even with limited minutes could be worth, as both are getting and converting chances at a rate where a 30 min sub could still get you something. Diaz in my opinion is lower down because he's not a Fpl asset but does a great deal for the team. Jota is more like the forwards in that he capable of getting returns from limited minutes. But he's occupies a midfield slot

With the obvious proviso disclaimer about confirmation bias (I’m favouring Salah drafts at the moment, people without him will argue the opposite), I do think A is better (though I wouldn’t double on the Arsenal defence).

I find the Salah option more exciting and attacking. If it doesn’t work out and I save my FT in GW2, then there’s a straightforward downgrade in midfield and upgrade in attack.

But I think there’s a good chance it does work, and you can still have Saka and Rashford, a Mitoma or Mbeumo and some of the most popular defenders.

This is why I’ve been favouring Salah for a while, but I understand the attraction of spreading the funds (which I know Rate My Team says is the way to go).

If you have the extra £0.5m is Jean-Philippe Mateta worth it?

    Over say Archer or Mubama.

Or save it for future transfers.

I'd probably save it. Could be annoying to want 0.5 for an early transfer and see Mateta sat on your bench.

If you intend to start him regularly, yeh. But if so you need to ask yourself why. If he's intended to be a permabench, then no, save your money.

It's just that I'm gambling on Gusto as 2nd substitute defender and I've locked Simms away to protect the 4.5m as third sub.

Guess that makes little sense tho so i was looking at getting a viable 2nd sub for now.

Henry or Cash currently first sub.

If a) we decide the Arsenal defence is not quite as good as we though and b) we want Trent and c) Trossard is the main beneficiary for a few weeks from Jesus injury and d) you'd rather put pins in your eyes than selected Man United players (lots of ifs here....) then this might be the draft for you!

    Steele (or other 4.5) 4.0
    Trent Estu Chilwell (4.5, 4.0)
    Saka Martinelli Trossard Foden Mitoma
    Haaland Watkins (4.5)

Plus 0.5 ITB for Trossard to Maddison or Nkunku in a few weeks if you like (for example)

    1. DeathoftheParty
      • 9 Years

      Some question marks;

      - does Steele start over the new guy
      - We'll find out about Trossard on Sunday
      - Liverpool still look wobbly in defense and Trent hasn't been on corners preseason... Is he still worth £8m?

      ... Rest looks great

Maybe Foden as the rest are nailed and you have a weak bench.

I need your help, I love this draft so much, but….I’m 0.5 over - how to shave it off??

    Pickford
    Trent | Gabriel | Estupinan
    Salah | Bruno | Martinelli | Mbuemo | Eze
    Haaland | Joao Pedro

    Virginia | Beyer | Kabore | Woodrow

Eze/Mbuemo to MGW is the only thing I can think of?

That’s where I’m at. MGW. Would keep Eze

He’s still on set pieces and pens right?

Yep. Has challenged himself to score more to get that push towards the England squad.

Nice one! I’ve had him a few of my drafts so time to return I think!

Now I just need to decide who to keep between Mbuemo and Eze…

Think I’m just edging towards Mbuemo, because of:

                  - Prefer Brentford initial fixtures, couple of Home games in a row too.
                  - May play upfront
                  - Brentford tend to score more (though no Toney could impact this.

Think Eze also on pens maybe? But Mbuemo almost certainly on them.

Do like Eze opening fixture though

Good luck. Eze out of those two for me can completely understand the logic

Lovely team - Martinelli to Trossard gives you a mil change.

I definitely prefer Martinelli over Trossard (in fact I prefer him to Saka)

Thanks, wouldn’t call it weak but get it only has 3 potential big hitters

      I would go Estupinan to a 4.5.

I'm afriad this is what happens with a Trent/Salah/Haaland draft. You need to lose Trent to e.g. Chilwell and money freed up you can spend upfront or in midfield.
Otherwise you are doing things like Martinelli to Foden or Eze to MGW

His 2nd unreal ball this match. He's so good at that deep diagonal ball to unleash the wide forward.

He's looking like the best creator, but he's assisting the assister at the moment. (IF United could finish)

Who would your 4.5m defender pick be?

    Thinking maybe Colwill, Henry, Tarq
