The pre-deadline Members Videos make a belated return for 2023/24 ahead of Gameweek 4.

It’s Scoutcast meets FPL BlackBox this time as Andy North and Az co-host this exclusive stream for Premium Members of Fantasy Football Scout.

The pair have been chatting over on our YouTube channel about their own Gameweek 4 teams and transfers.

Midfielders were unsurprisingly high on the agenda, while the pair also discuss the best time to make transfers.

The stream is watchable via the embedded video below.

Is Dan Burn nailed? He’s only 4.5, and Newcastle’s fixtures are about to improve. Why is his ownership only 3%?

Botman is the reason. Although if he is injured then others become viable.

Lewis Hall is there now so his place will be under threat soon you'd think

Even last season he's been the less favoured option to Botman in FPL. No obvious reasons why, like a Mitoma and March thing.

Most looking to Trippier or waiting for more info. on Botman, I would suspect.

Trippier's attacking upside, in a year where TV isnt really worth a lot, is probably worth the pickup.

Lewis Hall is an impressive player and more dynamic/potent, too much risk.

It's probably me, but I'm keen to hear your thoughts on the following :

"Rashford or Ödegaard to Foden or Sterling is (based on current evidence) essentially a sideways move fuelled by FOMO and YouTube. "

Surface level, I could maybe buy that re Rashford - but not for Odegaard.

I don’t think it’s a sideways move because Rashford is more expensive. You can do a lot with the extra 1.5 or so.

it is kind of sideways, or even downgrades when looking at the whole season, but imo the week in front of you is always the most important so Foden & Sterling look best for this week, that's basically it imo

Sideways would be Saka to Ode or Foden to Rodri. Not a player with limited form and a bad fixture to a player from a different team with great form and fixtures.

Is it worth a hit though? Probably not but some may gamble.

I wouldn't take out Saka or Fernandes.

Agree - moving within teams is even more sideways.

Current evidence of form is limited though, isn't it? I mean, Foden and Sterling have both played one excellent game...
And while the ManU v Arsenal game looks a tough gig, it's not really given form, injury etc plus both teams have a nice run following the IB.

On GW4 WC and torn between bringing in Awoniyi vs. Alvarez. Leaning Awoniyi but here's my question, if Brennan Johnson leaves Forest will that impact his performance? Haven't watched enough Forest to know.

Why? more nailed? More potential for multi-goal games? Better fixtures? Awoniyi has scored a goal each game. small sample size I know, but still.

Kind of a small sample size, kind of not... Awoniyi has scored in seven consecutive games for NFO (in the PL) I'm sure I heard when he bagged his last

            12 Aug vs ARS - 1
            28 May v CRY - 1
            20 May v ARS - 1
            13 May v CHE - 2

Awoniyi plays for Forest who have Chelsea away.

Alvarez just won a world cup, treble, plays for Man City and has Fulham at home.

Go with Awoniyi he's one of the best picks in the game imo. Underpriced and underowned. BJ leaving shouldn't be too bad for him. He's very good at feeding off scraps

I apologise as this question has probably been asked a million times but obviously I can't make decisions myself...

    Current midfield:

    Saka, Martinelli, Rashford, Bruno, Mitoma

    2FTs...

    A) Martinelli -> Maddison
    B) Martinelli & Rashford -> Maddison & Mbuemo/Foden/Sterling

I like the idea of saving a FT but not sure I want to stay on double UTD and tempted by the idea of Foden in his upcoming fixtures.

    Thanks!

Matheus Nunes to City - what are the implications for FPL?

Nunes himself is a very good player - he does Gundogan things without the goals, which along with Peptation makes him uninteresting FPL-wise, but I just want to bring attention to the knock-on effects of his addition to the City squad.

Probably stating the obvious here, but it puts Peptation into overdrive.
Nunes can rotate with Rodri (who's confessed he plays too many games for his long-term health), and with Kovacic. Pep could also play all three.
The latter would mean Foden or Alvarez would drop out.
With Doku getting some games on the right wing, and Foden occasionally deputising for Grealish on the left, That gives the City midfield two very strong assets for each position.
For me, that only further accentuates Haaland and Ederson as the only nailed City assets. I do see less rotation at the back, with Dias and Gvardiol getting plenty gametime, but even they will be rotated.
Like I say, none of this is surprising - I'll be losing a recently-bought Foden on my upcoming wildcard, and Rodri, Alvarez, Walker, Ake and Akanji got price rises which I think will turn out to be of questionable value.

Very nice analysis. I agree - you need to factor in the odd 1-pointer with all but those 2 City players.

Ask yourself - is it worth the frustration. I'm not going there, it ticks me off to the point of ruining my fun.

      Each to their own, innit.

Him and Kovacic are the type of players pep loves. Strikes me as a bit of forward planning too with bilva seemingly always flirting with leaving. Nunes will be fully integrated when he does go. Pep has all the options now. Direct flair doku. Creative spark Foden. Productive probing Alvarez. Width Grealish. Press resistant carrier Silva. Press resistant metronome Nunes.

Good team. I'd go with Diaz > Mbeumo. More minutes and on pens

    Still have Mings (don’t ask).
Only have 4.5M in the bank.
    Can’t afford Udogie.
    Own Ake, Estu, Chilwell.

    a) Gusto
    b) Van de Ven
    c) someone else

With Johan Bakayoko joining Brentford, Wissa could be one very tidy asset to own now.

I don't know him. Where exactly does he play - does he threaten Wissa or Mbeumo? Or is he likely to be a bit-part player for the first season like Frank is wont to do with new attacking acquisitions?

Right wing so could affect Mbeumo's minutes.

He'd give them a much needed other option on the right side of a front 3. If he hit the ground running could mean mbuemo striker Wissa left wing. AFAIK he has rejected Brentford anyways so it is moot

You are making a pretty good point here, Wissa is right footed so he could move to the left with Mbeumo central.

Yeah Wissa and mbuemo are both wide forwards that can play central. Bakayako fits the mould of developing young talents. They have Schade and KLP on the left makes sense to get a right sided attacker in.

What should be the transfer priority here? 1 FT, funds not an issue.

    Onana (Turner)
    Etsu, Chilwell, Gabriel (Baldock, Kabore)
    Mitoma, Rashford, Saka, Richarlison, Foden
    Haaland, Jackson (Pedro)

    A) Gabriel to Trippier/Udogie/City defender
    B) Baldock to Trippier/Udogie/City defender
    C) Mitoma to Maddison/Sterling
    D) Richarlison to Maddison/Sterling

    Cheers!

    Onana
    Saliba Chilwell Estu
    Maddison Martinelli Rashford Saka
    Watkins Haaland Jackson

    Turner Sarr Henry Baldock

    Considering playing Sarr and Henry.
    Who would you bench though?

Estu (have benched for Udogie) and Martinelli - assuming you really want to play those 2

Considering only. My decisions so far haven't really worked and any tinkering I do will probably backfire!

Really want to get on either Jackson or Sterling to take advantage of the fixture run. Have 2FT

    A) Estu & Pedro to Botman/Guehi & Jackson
    B) Bruno to Sterling
    C) Saka to Sterling
    D) Salah to Sterling

Other option is to avoid and reasses
    E) Estu to Gvardiol
