Oh hey! I checked Groẞ out

Turns out I can get Groß + Burn/Botman instead of Trippier + Fulham mid/5.0

Feels like a better use of funds, and those Brighton fixtures last until DGW season

Thanks for pointing that out... Richarlison and Groß are my Salah and Son replacements now 🙂

My full surname actually extrapolates to:
              - Bristol

              - Is
              - My

    Planning to WC in GW20

A - Wise to use my 1 FT to upgrade Areola to Dubravka (and bench Turner)?
B - Any hits worthwhile? Have plenty cash ITB after selling Haaland.

    Turner
    Porro - Trippier - Tsimi
    Salah - Gordon - Bowen - Son - Palmer
    Solanke - Watkins

    Areola - Saliba - Archer - Taylor

We'll round these up in an article this afternoon, but for now, here are some new quotes from Howe:

"We're going to see how Gordon and Krafth are this morning. Anthony is sore, it was a horrible challenge and I was really disappointed with the tackle. Hopefully, he'll improve quickly.

"Emil had a nasty cut on his shin so he'll need stitches.

"Joe is slightly worse than Schar and we'll make a decision on them both this weekend.

"Isak is 50/50 for this weekend."

Bit of a benching headache for Boxing Day so does it make sense to roll the FT here? Don’t want to bench Darwin at Burnley but he’s on the chopping block for a sale (as is Cash)

There will probably be an injury this GW to make up my mind for me but 2FT feel like they will be useful in GW20

    1FT 5.0ITB
    Dubravka
    Porro Tsimikas Colwill
    Salah Son Saka Gordon* Palmer
    Watkins Solanke

    Areola Darwin Kabore Cash

    Cheers

I completely missed the deadline yesterday.

Was undecided between Olise and Richarlison for Gordon.

Hope Gordy is going to play and haul now. But both unlikely anyway.

Well. Two transfers for the boxing day crunch might be useful anyway.

Or worth the upgrade to TAA ....making it a little harder to get haaland back....

    Porro gabriel tsimikas cash taylor

clubs making statements backing the UEFA competition and saying they have no interest in joining a super league is great to hear...in similar news my 5 year old told me it was the elf on the shelf and not him that raided the box of Roses last night

      • 5 Years

Yeah of course they back UEFA now… there’s no other option. When there’s a concrete alternative that offers them a place we already saw where most of the big clubs across Europe stand.

The solution is simply. People support their local teams rather than supporting the global brands of the current big 6 and the brand of the EPL.

      1. Bennerman
        • 7 Years

Am I not allowed to support the team my dear mum supports - because you say so?

        1. Hairy Potter
          • 10 Years
          2 years, 2 months ago

Support who you want, for whatever reasons you want. My point is that the global branding of "big" teams helps perpetuate their position and entitlement for trophies, and to a certain degree limits the rise and fall of teams that we saw in the past.

          1. Bennerman

I'm suggesting a simplistic solution to get away from the global branding of football and everything it brings with it. You're suggesting you don't agree. I'm saying that's fine, support who you want.

              1. Bennerman
                • 7 Years

'Support who you want' I am fine with, for so many reasons and for everyone.
'Support your local team' is something different and parochial, and not possible, practical or applicable to the vast majority.

He didn’t use the word ‘must’ or even ‘should’, he put it in the context of a scenario, the realisation of which could be envisaged in a number of different way. So I don’t think it’s unreasonable for his statement and yours to happily sit side by side

Nipping what ever you're probably tangling with what to come up with in the bud, it's extraordinarily simplistic to expect everyone to 'support their local team'

I just don't get people supporting a team that they have no connection with. The strongest connection is usually supporting your home town club. Other people have different opinions, let them. There's no right or wrong opinion.

Check your logic. You could only support Scunthorpe if you live in Scunthorpe, by this method.
Come back when you have thought it through.

Absolutely. Still deciding between Trent/Salah myself. If Pool still look a bit flat in attack like against Man Utd then Trent might edge it for me

I don't see how past records should affect captaincy pick. Also this is the first time Salah has played Burnley with Kompany as manager

Tongue in cheek, but I do think it's worth keeping in mind sometimes. Some players tend to do well against certain teams regardless of manager, others they tend to do poorly against. Only takes one game to change the latter of course but still something I think on

Areola & Gordon -> Raya & D.Luiz make sense here? Need to sort a GK out but lack of funds requires a downgrade elsewhere.

    Areola
    Porro, Gabriel, Burn
    Salah, Son, Saka, Palmer, Gordon
    Haaland, Watkins

    Turner, Archer, Lascelles, Taylor
    Bank 0.1m, 2FTs

I would rather leave that Arsenal 3rd spot open for an outfield option

Makes sense. Options I can see are Areola & Gordon ->

        A) Raya & D.Luiz (5.5)
        B) Leno & Bailey (5.6)
        C) Dubravka & Eze (6.2)

        or keep Gordon and do:

        D) Areola & Lascelles -> Dubravka & fodder (4.2)

        Whatcha reckon?

Leno, Dubravka and Neto are GKs I would consider. Not a huge fan of the midfield options, pity you can't get up to 6.4m for Gross

Chances of Cash starting tonight? Lenglet hasn’t played in the prem all season

Seems almost guaranteed he won't start. Given a lot of predictions have both Diaby -and- Bailey starting, you might assume that Cash subs on later in the match at RW for either of those two.

Hs has been playing LCB in the ECL.

Emery pretty much confirmed Lenglet will start.

For all of us who got rid of Haaland and have Salah and Son, what’s the general consensus on getting him back?

    19 Everton

    20 Sheffield United

He's quite possibly not playing at Everton anyhow.

A game I think they'll struggle in after today.

I'm thinking for Salah (with 2FT) in time for GW20 but it is a risk not having Haaland v eve (if fit) and no Salah v NEW)

In a similar position got two frees and might just burn one on the Haaland move for 19 regardless of fitness worry is if he misses 20 too.

Will keep rolling the 2 free transfers to deal with Salah and Son for 21.

Left myself enough itb for a straight swap in 19 if fit but more likely use 2FTs involving selling Salah in 20

      Great question.
It affects my transfers throughout my team as well.
But essentially I think I'll sell Salah for Haaland in gw20 in two moves and risk not having Salah at home to Newcastle.

With Haaland returning after his blank at some point and having Son/Salah depart, this is the first obstacle of the season where I’ll need to navigate/plan transfers. Hate planning transfers miles in advance.

Yeah same, and it's tricky. Like do I get in Porro now? I've wanted him since before he was cool and still don't own him. But in getting him I'd price myself out of getting in Haaland with a free transfer so would have to sell Salah at home to Newcastle, and for a hit. So this gets pretty deep.

          1. BullDogTevez
            • 15 Years
            2 years, 2 months ago

Couldn’t agree more. I too have wanted Porro for a while but something else always pops up. In my rank I believe he is well owned so should probably get him in to cover myself but like yourself if I were to do so I can say bye to getting in Haaland for free. Just need to hope other defenders can match Porros output.

For me this week, I just couldn't bare the thought of selling Cash and see him do well at home to SHU. I would have felt like a moron, so I kept him and he won't even start. So I could have got him in, but I hadn't a clue what would happen.

If I had cash I would have held too, you just don’t know what way Emery will set up especially with the Pau injury. Mings on his way back too which adds a further headache, although a great servant not quite sure he will fit in the team as he did before, time could be up. Villa fan here btw.

    Dubravka (Areola)
    TAA, Trippier, Porro (Gabreil, Branthwaite)
    Salah, Son, Saka, Palmer, Gordon
    Watkins, Solanke (Archer)

    2FT, 2.5m ITB

No idea what to do here even if Gordon is out I've got Gabreil v WHU as bench cove. Replace Areola maybe?

Anyone noticed the fixtures between 20-22?
Game week 20 starts 30th Dec
Game week 21 starts 13th Jan and goes on until 22nd, so 10 day week.
Game week 22 starts 30th Jan

So a whole month with just 1 game week to fill it, it's gonna be brutal for some.
