What would you do here with 2FT? Haaland fit? I saved the transfers and money for him and TAA as cash cow, but now I’m not sure..

    (2FT, 3.5 itb)
    Dubravka (Turner)
    TAA/Porro/Gabriel (Mengi, Pau*)
    Salah/Son/Saka/Richarlison/Palmer
    Watkins/Solanke (Archer)

Is Darwin > Solanke still worth doing when the fixtures turn or find an alternative? Any strikers less than 7.0 worth considering?

I'm in the same position. Don't know whether to do Darwin to Solanke now or wait for Haaland.
I do know not owning Solanke has massively backfired!

Solanke's xGI is high in the tougher games

Iraola is somewhat like Bielsa when it comes to attacking, and it's finally clicking at Bournemouth

It's still Solanke by some distance over others at 7.0, imo

But if we're purely considering fixtures, then Jesus is worth a shout

Nice fixtures to come for Alvarez so probably best just focusing on Darwin > Solanke and not forcing too many transfers.

Oh no, I'd be a happy Raya owner if I had him for the next four GWs. Not worth the sideways switch because Jesus isn't explosive enough, imo

Maybe Alvarez to Toney or Nkunku soon, beside Watkins and Solanke

His XGI yesterday was given to him by a Christmas present from Rob Jones.
But yeh, I think you're right with Iraola, from what I've seen from Spain his tactics works best against team with possession based play. Spurs away sounds like a juicy fixture to me.

Absolutely, Solanke (8 goals in the last 8 GWs, Watkins 4 goals) nailed, in form and putting his chances in the net.

Darwin (2 assists in the last 8 GWs) is only a backup player who starts about half of the matches and is very wasteful in front of the goal.

Everyone seems to be assuming Haaland won't be back until gw20, is that due to any actual information or is it more than it's convenient to target that week to get him back in?

    1. Ze_Austin

I think he'll be back for Everton

But I also think we definitely do not *know* either way, unless there's a clear answer (lmao) from a Pep presser or some team training pics pre-deadline

        Boxing day training pics possibly?

.... but i think the club can keep that private and they don't play until 27th so wouldn't be leaving to a hotel, if needed, until after the boxing day deadline.

        No Haaland news likely.

The assumptions is that he hasn't trained and is very unlikely to have more than max on training before Everton, if that. The type of injury and the length of time away, coupled with a long period until gw21 is some of the reasons for it.
What we know is he won't be matchfit, so if he plays how much time does he play in 19 and 20. And are the alternative that bad?
Salah home looks like a good fixture. Son has Bou. Solanke plays a Spurs defense without CB's.
Unless you kept him you'd have to implement that you're using transfers on it. And as of yesterday, a lot of players went down again. Lascelles injured, Livra benched, Tsimikas injured, etc.

I am looking to take a punt on a striker for a couple of weeks before Haaland is back. I’ve deliberately held him until now with this in mind and I’m happy to take the risk of an early return. I have 2 FTs. Plus it means I have the cash to upgrade a defender to TAA if I make the move. I was going to go for Alvarez as a Haaland replacement but I’m tempted by Jesus as something of a differential. Team is :

    Dubruvka (Areola)
Tsimikas / Porro / Gabriel (Taylor , Lascelles)
    Saka/ Salah/ Palmer / Gordon / Son
    Watkins / Solanke (Haaland)

    Thanks

Howe doesn't typically rotate his defence when everyone is fit. There is a chance that he might not want to risk overdoing it with Botman, so Burn could play centre back and Livra at left back. There is a chance Livra could fill in further forward. I think he definitely gets some minutes, but not confident that he starts.

Interesting. Did a little bit of research. Looks like managers playing on boxing day did their press conferences at the end of their post match GW18 press conferences last year...

There have been very few stand-alone pre-match press conferences ahead of Gameweek 19 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL), with the turnaround so quick between deadlines.

Instead, many Premier League managers were interviewed in the aftermath of their sides’ Gameweek 18 fixtures, with the quotes gradually being released from embargo – and there’s still more to come beyond today’s 16:00 GMT deadline.

Thinking Gordon could be benched with a sub appearance or have his minutes managed. He was “very sore” and then played 90 mins and has LIV after NFO. Very quick turnaround to play three matches for someone who got injured.

      • 11 Years

Doesn't really make sense to me. If he played 90 anything before that is pretty irrelevant as he was fit enough to play 90. He's probably their most important player atm, I think Howe knows as much.

He played 90 minutes but that doesn’t take away from the fact that he was injured prior to the game and playing the whole 90 mins could have an impact. Whether or not he is there most important player, Howe will prioritise his games than thinking from an FPL perspective.

    Solanke Watkins (Archer)

    2 FT, 7.3m ITB

Thinking Tsimikas -> TAA and rolling the other FT to keep some flex for managing Haaland return and Son/Salah departure. Any better suggestions?

It seems that defenders are gaining momentum with money flow there because of the on-going and imminent absence of Haaland, Salah and/or Son.

Gabriel and Porro seem to be set in many teams, who would be your third place of choice considering team defensive performance, price, attacking potential and fixtures?

    A. TAA
    B. Trippier
    C. Saliba
    D. Walker
    E. Colwill
    F. Others

Porro is a decent enough option but Spurs give away a lot of chances so I am going TAA I think. Need to make up some ground and not many in ML have him.

Who to start? Trippier has been gash and may concede even to Forest

    A - Trippier (NFO)
    B - Saliba (WHU)

People with Alvarez, reckon once Haaland is back, we are swapping?
Don’t think Alvarez is worth a spot over Solanke or Watkins, even vs Sheffield?

    What you will do?

    A) Play Schar and save the FT
    B) Bench Schar and buy TAA for Tsimikas

      A unless B is a FT

Is there a presser where we would get news on Haaland? I’m not up to date - chance of him making the next match?

? If people gonna go haaland Solanke watkins, who’s 5th mid for benching?

Or are people keeping archer, then Solanke to haaland?

    Just curios on peoples thoughts/moves

Probably Gordon for me, given fixtures & form. But I still like him as a long-term hold

Same as Mentaculus - will have 8 starting forwards and will bench one each week dependant on fixtures. Mainly benching between Gordon, Salanke and at times possibly Palmer

Gordon or B Johnson, but if really mostly will be benched then go cheap McAtee?

Pickford or Leno this week, which to play?

Leon away at Bournemouth doesn't feel like a clean sheet.

Everton two clean sheets at home last two versus a hungover Man City.

    Thinking play Pickford!

I'd probably go Pickford, should be some save points

How many goals / assists will Cunha get today? Leaving my team in week 20 for Haaland so could do with some more juicy points before I reluctantly say goodbye

Actually, looking at that Chelsea lineup - Gallagher & Ugochukwu in the pivot, 2 strikers - I'm upgrading you to 2 attacking returns 🙂

    Benching headache. Bench one...

    A) Palmer (CRY)
    B) Gordon (NFO)
    C) Alvarez (eve)

Probably C, away from home and EVE defence is not bad at all

yes that's what I thought, and just off the plane. Only thing is w/o Haaland he'll be playing through the middle I expect

That's true, but the other two are midfielders (more potential points from CS and 1+ pt from a goal)

I wouldn’t bench Alvarez if Haaland still out. He is deffo capable of scoring big. He has been very unlucky this season (I blame myself there). Yes Everton decent but it’s City. They can score against anyone.
