It’s time for our Fantasy Bundesliga Matchday 21 team reveals, as our experts showcase the best picks, top differentials, and smart plays for the week ahead.

@Big4FPL

NOTES

  • The start of 2026 has continued to deliver far stronger Bundesliga Fantasy results than the end of 2025 did for me. After last week’s returns, I’ve climbed to 395th overall and 45th in the Second Chance League.
  • That said, a clear template has emerged, with almost every key asset now affordable. Because of that, the only real difference in my squad comes from owning Leopold Querfield instead of Maximilian Mittelstädt. Additionally, some managers may decide against bringing Christoph Baumgartner straight back in following his suspension and a run of underwhelming returns.
  • There is also a decision to monitor up front. Harry Kane has been ill, so a move to Deniz Undav, Antonio Nusa, or Serhou Guirassy remains a possibility if we receive firm team news. However, unless his absence is fully confirmed, Harry Kane will stay in my squad.

NOTES

  • Goalkeepers: This week could finally bring a change in goal. Mio Backhaus has struggled for form recently, while Marvin Schwäbe has a strong run of fixtures coming up and offers clear save potential. Crucially, with no major issues elsewhere in my squad, I can afford to make this move using a spare transfer.
  • Defenders: At the back, the established core of Alejandro Grimaldo, Maximilian Mittelstädt, Nico Schlotterbeck, and David Raum will all keep their places unless any late doubts emerge. For the fifth defensive slot, I’m confident it will come from HSV this week. At present, I’m leaning towards Miro Muheim over Luka Vušković, mainly due to role and reliability.
  • Midfielders: Once again, midfield is the biggest question mark heading into the deadline. Michael Olise, Alexis Claude-Maurice, and Romano Schmid all look secure for now. However, decisions still loom around Jens Stage and Bilal El Khannouss. At the moment, I’m considering moving Stage on this week, especially with Werder facing Bayern next round. His replacement will likely come from Nadiem Amiri, Christoph Baumgartner, or Aleix Garcia. As for Bilal El Khannouss, I’ll hold him for now but closely monitor his expected minutes after starting in the midweek DFB-Pokal tie against Kiel.
  • Forwards: Ideally, I don’t want to sell any of Harry Kane, Luis Díaz, or Yan Diomande. That said, doubts around Kane’s fitness remain the key variable. If those concerns persist, I may look to move him on. At the moment, Antonio Nusa stands out as the leading replacement, although Deniz Undav and a differential punt on a Mainz forward such as Phillip Tietz or Silas are also under consideration.

NOTES

  • My plan for this week is straightforward: move on any injured players and reshuffle where better options are available.
  • At the moment, I’m planning to sell Willi Orban, Vladimír Coufal, Jens Stage, Linton Maina, and Harry Kane. In their place, I’m likely to bring in Maximilian Mittelstädt, Alphonso Davies, Christoph Baumgartner, Nadiem Amiri, and Deniz Undav.
  • As things stand, I’m set up to play a 4-4-2. The core of the team will revolve around Luis Díaz, Michael Olise, and Mittelstädt, who all look well placed to deliver this round.

NOTES

  • There are three standout striker options this week, provided they’re all predicted to start. Harry Kane remains the standout pick unless fitness concerns rule him out.
  • Midfield largely picks itself, with limited standout alternatives available, while defence follows a similar pattern. The final defensive spot comes down to a close call between Mario Vušković and Miro Muheim, which feels like a genuine coin toss. If he’s expected to start, Alejandro Grimaldo likely takes the star role.
  • In goal, targeting a goalkeeper facing Bayern makes the most sense, so Oliver Baumann comes in. Daniel Batz because I’m poor.
