People debating whether Bruno or Haaland was the one to drop as they were so expensive. Turns out the answer was both.

Don't be daff..you cannot judge these premiums over one game week when they both returned late from world cup and not had a proper full pre season. Over the season, anyone who drops both now will regret that immensely.

Thoughts on this WC GW2 team?

    Kinsky
    Branthwaite - Murillo - Muharemović
    MGW - Rogers - Szoboszlai - Anderson
Haaland - Thiago - João Pedro

    (Lo-Tutala - Sangaré - Thiaw - Konsa)

      Maybe Bijol over Muharemovic?

      Anderson came off injured.

Prefer Verbruggen over Kinsky, Spurs looked ropey as anything.

Otherwise like it. But do you really need to WC this week?

Bijol might get taken off if they go down 1-0, because he normally doesn't play in a 4-4-2 when they change to this formation.
Anderson is fine according to Maresca, just cramp.
Verbruggen is on bench rotation, I made a typo.
Yeah I think so. No Haaland, got Isak. Gabriel too expensive compared to Konsa. Want to TC Haaland GW3

Come back here in 2-3 months. Saka will be the top scoring midfielder. Arsenal are going to rip up the league attack wise this year, if he stays fit its easily 200 points plus.

Saka is not going to be top scoring midfield in this life or the next. He has been ruined over the past many years. Has lost his pace and will have his minutes managed to avoid regular recurring injuries now especially with madueke.

Konsa by week 3 or last sub after 60 mins of mosquera in week 2.
De Cruyper is an option as is everton 4.5 mil def.
Double brighton will be good in week 3 and 4.

Looking at stats on Liverpool vs Newcastle. Isak on >1 XG but lots of reports saying he was anonymous/ poor. Didn't watch the game i confess.

he had a header from like two yards out that the keeper just got to in time to sort of make contact with the ball at the same time as isak so it just went sidewards. maybe that was it

Odd, I thought XG was supposed to take account of keeper/defender position...but maybe it is a big part. One site I use had him at 1.42, so cant have been just this

Over a season Haaland and probably one or two more will easily outscore on a per game basis

So who would you go for on a FH if you were playing this week -- this is just a thought experiment to look at captains. I am not high on Bruno but expect United to score, so would go for a Cunha Mbuemo double up, but Haaland captain and Arsenal double up in attack.

Something like this i think does well next week :

    Rushworth
    Maguire NOR Cala
    Tzolis Saka Szob Mbuemo Cunha
    Pedro Haaland (c)

Villa conceeded a huge amount of xG today, and will be without Gomes, and i think Arsenal are on a huge attacking upward trend.

As a Bruno owner and non Haaland owner, 100% agree here. I will even consider a FH this week to cover that as I expect 2+ goals from Haaland, he was rather unlucky today.

Sangare won't be the lowest scoring player but probably the lowest ceiling. I think I'd bench him reluctantly or else you take a punt and bench Mbeumo or Isak seeing as both are not looking totally with it.

Free hit week 2 looks more sensible as time passes, can cover all bases as a non haaland owner, and cover Arsenal and United who may score 2+ each.

    This looks decent :

    Rushworth
    NOR Cala Silva Shaw Ballard
    mBuemo Bruno Tzolis Saka
    Haaland (c)

Its basically a one week insurance policy to prevent any huge swings for those of us without Haaland but who dont want to back Bruno as captain ( i also didnt back either week 1 and went Saka).

Freehit 1 is the weakest chip in my view. I fail to see when one would use it say after week 5 once a template has emerged.

Imagine its 4 defcon guys and some pen takers (Saka, Szob, Ndiage, etc) + Haaland, i dont see any world unless cancellations you would want to bet against the template due to Haaland playing Liverpool or Arsenal playing X.

Im not freehitting this week just looking at options. This place is abit too risk adverse at times.

Burning 3 chips in first 3 weeks seems pretty wild to me. Very hard to draw conclusions from one game week. Using chips to play a game of pot luck IMO.

Lots of ways to play this game.

I have played this for 20 years, always used chips early, even back in the days of one wildcard, no fh. We have 6 chips now. Im always surprised how conservative people are on here.

I made a BB1 team which i will WC out of 3/4 , FH for the first half of season is a pretty low risk medium reward chip if played early, and high risk low reward if played later in first half of season as you have to go against a proven template. Now there is no template and you are simple going to target fixtures.

Looks like an easy save. Konsa is not a starter.

    Kluivert or Tavernier?

These are the picks who will score points while you wait for them to play Ipswich and Hull by which rmownership goes up and they inevitably blank in the ‘optimal fixtures’.

Hinshelwood is a lot more exciting and in a more exciting team, but they're playing in Europe. I'd still say him, he's also cheaper.

      Kluivert - pens

Joao Pedro with 64% ownership is crazy. Wrongly priced.

Are Haaland and Bruno wrongly priced or is captaincy the main reason?

Totally wrongly priced. He should be 9 at least

FPL didn't know when they set the prices that he was about to score 7 goals in pre-season matches.
But it was still surprising that his price was lower than Thiago and Watkins.

UAE officials caution that a negative outcome concerning #ManCity’s 115 charges could damage improved relations with the UK, according to two people familiar with the matter.

    https://x.com/City_Xtra/status/2091430179054797247

Lol wtf?? Are they threatening the UK? Not with violence ofc, but this is just stupid and borderline crazy, that they have seemingly "the upper hand" when they've been cheating/bending the rules in their favor.

I see FPL decided to keep "Most Valuable Teams".
Stock Market game now with more certainty with prices for those involved.

So did the current world number two.
And they both started Thiago's zero points but left Joao Pedro on the bench.
The only team in the current top nine that can increase its score tomorrow is Carrie Roberts's Regimental United, which played its Bench Boost and needs ten points from Joao Pedro to become joint first.

Anyone have any idea about Jacquet and early substitution? His defcon seemed quite low compared to Virgil, so was wondering if he was actually involved much today or maybe struggled with the level on his PL debut…

Most impressive win so far, and why?
    1) Hull City
    2) Everton
    3) Ipswich
    4) Leeds
    5) Brentford
    6) Brighton

Probably says more about the opponent. Hull City were the biggest surprise.

Yes, MNU & TOT were appalling! So those 2 wins stand out for me. Can Hull sustain that level, will MNU shape up? BRE & BHA are the real deals I think and will challenge any team so I'll be shifting some BB1 players to those two teams as a priority. And KDH obvs.

Brentford imo. 3-0 and it didn't flatter them and they did it without any of their front 3 getting returns and having a pen missed.

Hull were the biggest surprise but United were just crap.
