The 2026/27 Fantasy Bundesliga season continues with Matchday 2, as managers look to build on their opening-round scores.
Ahead of the deadline, our Fantasy experts reveal their latest teams and talk through their transfers, star-player selections and plans for the upcoming round.

NOTES
- After an awful opening Matchday, where pushing so much of the budget into Harry Kane failed to pay off, I’m backing him to deliver at the second time of asking.
- The team largely remains the same, although I’m switching from a 4-3-3 to a 3-4-3. As things stand, Kane, Michael Olise and Laurin Curda take the three star-player slots.

- Matheo Raab and Fabian Bredlow remain my goalkeepers. Despite a disappointing start from the pair, I simply don’t have the luxury of making a transfer here. Fortunately, Frederik Rønnow is not yet back from injury, allowing me to keep Raab.
- There’ll be a big shake-up in defence after a poor Matchday 1. Maximilian Mittelstädt will be the major addition and gets my defensive star slot. Despite conceding five goals against Bayern, he still managed a solid baseline of points. Stuttgart also play on Friday, so we’ll know whether he starts before the deadline.
- Marius Wolf is another new addition after creating five big chances in Matchday 1. None were converted into assists, but his attacking threat and low price of 5.45m make him an appealing option. Keita Kosugi stays simply because he is one of the cheaper starting defenders.
- The final defensive spot currently belongs to Philipp Lienhart. He faces Paderborn, who failed to register a shot on target against Mainz last weekend. Joshua Vagnoman, Laurin Curda and Zakaria El Ouahdi are the other options I’m considering.
- Michael Olise showed once again why he’s the best asset in the game, so I trust him with my midfield star slot against Schalke 04.
- After Leverkusen’s shock defeat to Elversberg, I fancy them to bounce back and dominate Union at home. That should give Ibrahim Maza and Ezequiel Fernández opportunities to accumulate build-up points as well as attacking returns.
- Yuito Suzuki comes into consideration after scoring a hat-trick. It may look like a knee-jerk move, but bringing in an in-form player ahead of a meeting with Paderborn feels logical.
- Hugo Bolin is a less obvious pick. Gladbach were convincingly beaten by Leipzig, but he still managed four shots from good positions. I expect the game against Elversberg to be wide open, offering him plenty of opportunities.
- Ezechiel Banzuzi missed two big chances in Matchday 1, but that at least shows he is getting into promising positions. With Leipzig dealing with several injuries, he should continue to get good minutes.
- Up front, Phillip Tietz, Afonso Moreira and Younes Ebnoutalib all keep their places. Ebnoutalib was the only one to score on the opening weekend, but all three should start and have favourable fixtures. With more pressing issues elsewhere, I’m happy to stick with them.
- Despite disappointing against Elversberg, Moreira gets my attacking star slot. I’m backing him to improve against a Union side that conceded three goals last weekend.

- After a very solid Matchday 1, which left me just inside the top 4k, I’m hoping for more of the same this week. Going without Michael Olise hurt me in the opening round, but he’ll have to wait another week before coming into my squad.
- My five transfers out are Nathanial Brown, Filippo Mané, Josip Juranović, Konstantelias Giannis and Phillip Tietz. Brown and Mané mainly make way because of rotation concerns, as I don’t expect either to start. Juranović has a poor fixture, making him a straightforward sell. Giannis has unfortunately torn his ACL, which forces another move. Tietz has a good fixture but will also likely make way, as I need the money to bring in Igor Matanovic. Coming in are Matanovic, Yuiti Suzuki, Jeremiha Maluze, Louis Lemke and Dayot Upamecano. The moves may look somewhat reactionary, but most have favourable enough fixtures. Lemke is the exception, although his price still makes him appealing. They could also help me gain some early team value, which is important. I’ll likely stick with a 3-5-2 formation, with Matanovic, Joshua Kimmich and Upamecano taking the three star-player slots.
